Father of 3 was hospitalized and got behind on their electric bill due to missing work. The cut-off date for the electricity is March 30th, and the due date for the bill is April 1st. Please help this father to have a buffer for one month to get back on his feet. Any amount is helpful!
This family consists of a mother, an 11-year-old female, a 6-year-old female, and 3-year-old male. The father has visitation but lives in a different home. Recently the 11-year-old female has had some mental health issues that had placed her in the hospital and then in a kinship home away from her family to try to better her mental state. The mother and father are supposed to both be providing money to the kinship placement to take care of the child but the father is thought to be unemployed. To ensure the kinship placement is able to take care of the child long term a grocery gift card was requested, as well as some clothing items. Clothing would be girls' size 10/12 in tops and bottoms or adult size XS or 0.

The family is requesting assistance fixing a leak that has caused them to be unable to use the upstairs shower/bathtub. Mom and dad have five children under the age of eighteen in the home and six children total in the home that they care for. Dad works full time at Red Robin. Mom and dad both have extensive mental health needs. Two of the children have learning and physical disabilities. Since the shower has not been functioning, the entire family has had to share one shower. There is concern for the children’s hygiene due to this.

This request is for a family in need of a WAL-MART gift card to purchase a phone and a phone card. This phone card is to assist bio family. The parents need a phone to be able to communicate with service providers for appointments. Their son is currently residing with the maternal grandparents. The parents are working through substance abuse and mental health issues at this current time. They utilize the phone to maintain phone contact and video visits when they cannot see him face to face with the grandparents. The phone is essential to the parents for a variety of reasons. They lost their phone on the bus on the way to the appointment and it has not been recovered. The parents have several medical appointments, substance abuse treatment, as well as visitations with their son and a phone is a tool to be able to connect with all entities. Ultimately, the request is for a phone and phone card and the family would be appreciative if this request could be met. It benefits the parents to be able to stay in touch with service providers for their care. It is also emotionally and therapeutically important for their 4 year old son to be able to have adequate contact with his parents.

Single father is currently behind on 4 months of rent due to being unemployed ($2,600 behind in rent). Fathers work assignment ended due to having to take one of his sons, who has cerebral Passley, to needed doctor appointments. Father disclosed that the child who has a disability has also had a couple of surgeries as well. Father has a total of two sons (twin boys ages 13). Father is actively looking for work and has been offered a job by two locations and has an interview at another location. Father's landlord has given him some grace with the rent, but father is worried because he has fallen behind and it has now been a few months. Any help at all is greatly appreciated. A caregiver has taken in the two sons of his go daughter. The boys have been placed with him for a few months and he is working in becoming an approved kinship foster home in order to get more supports for the boys and himself in caring for the boys. Both of the boys have been struggling emotionally in the absence of their mother. The caregiver is working on getting them into counseling as well as extra curricular activities to help give the boys healthy outlets and coping mechanisms. The caregiver is working on getting both the boys registered for track, but finances are tight right now until the foster care maintenance payments begin. The cost of the track registration and uniforms is $200 for each child. Any help with these fees is greatly appreciated and will help give the boys a healthy outlet and promote some normalcy for them.

This request is for a single father of three. The three children range in ages 4, 6, and 12. The family is in need of a VISA or Wal-Mart gift card. The father and his children are currently living in a hotel as he is trying to find stable housing. During their recent move, the kids were unable to bring all of their belongings. As a result of incident, the father lost his wallet while assisting his 6 year old during a crisis situation. Even though his wallet was located by a stranger he had already canceled all of his cards and requested new ones including his check card and SNAP benefits card. The requested gift card is to assist with groceries, and clothes for the children. He is also in need of the two car seats as his are not in very good condition. This family consists of a mother and her two sons, ages two and ten, as well as a stepfather. This family is in need of big support at this time. The family has no insurance, and the ten-year-old son has never seen a doctor or dentist. The child recently saw a dentist through the school and found out that he has ten abscessed teeth and needs a lot of dental work done. The child went to the dentist to estimate the work needed and the total cost is $6697, not including the two root canals he will have to be referred out to get. He will need seven fillings, two extractions, and two crowns following the root canals. Due to the family not having insurance any and all help would be very beneficial to them. The child is having a very hard time sleeping and now talking due to the pain in his mouth. Since this is such a big request we understand that assistance can come from multiple sources.

I am working with a family that has been working with the Department for several years. This family has a history of substance abuse and domestic violence. Currently, the mother and father are involved in several services to maintain sobriety and develop positive relationship skills. The mother's cell phone is no longer working effectively - this makes it difficult to communicate with service providers and with the Department. I am hoping to help her get a new phone to assist with this communication. There are several available at Walmart at various prices - the average price was around $80. Additionally, phone cards come in a range of prices.
This mother is also in search of spiritual connection and community, so she would be very open to forming a relationship with the helping church.

Single mother just moved into her new home this Tuesday and needs help furnishing the home with the main necessities, for her and her 3 young children, ages 9, 6, and 3. Mother does have a steady job, but just needs help starting up. One of the main things the mother needed to do in order to help her bring the kids back home was to provide stable housing, which was successful in doing. Before I commit to meeting this need, I'd like to speak with a guy in our church that owns a plumbing business to see what his availability is. I don't want to commit to it if he's not available in a reasonable amount of time, which would keep someone else from meeting the need sooner. I've contacted him by text and waiting to hear back.

I've heard back from the plumber and he's planning to look at the problem and give me an estimate on the repair on Monday, March 20. That's the earliest he could work me in. I will need address and contact information for the family to pass along to him. If there's someone available to help meet the need sooner than Monday, let me know. I'm still willing to assist with the cost either way.
Jerry Hatcher at Wellspring has offered to assist financially, if needed.
I'll get the quote Monday for the repair and let the team know if we can take care of it all, or if we need assistance.
Thanks!

The plumber was able to resolve the problem today and the family now has running water! He's hasn't given me the price yet but is going to send the invoice directly to Rainbow Forest Baptist Church.
There is a boy who attends Lord Botetourt High School, 18 years old, a senior and has a job. He would like to get his license, so that he can drive himself to and from work and school. He lives with his grandmother who also works, making transportation difficult. The family does not have the extra income to help pay for him to take behind the wheel to get his license. He would love help with obtaining this.
