This request is to assist a 17-year-old female be able to participate in her high school graduation. This child has had a lot of hurdles throughout her schooling, as well as her personal life. She has had multiple losses in her family recently and struggled with social anxiety at school, resulting in her being enrolled in an alternative school setting to assist her in being successful in obtaining her diploma. Since being enrolled in the alternative school setting, she has been able to successfully complete all of her courses to receive her diploma. Due to her mother being on a very tight fixed income, the child's school dues have not been paid throughout her years in school. To be able to receive her diploma and walk across the stage at graduation the school dues of $390.00 have to be paid in full. The Department is humbly seeking assistance in our extended community to assist this child in celebrating her successful completion of school by ensuring she can walk across the stage at her graduation.

Four year old boy was recently placed with his father. The father works full time and is attempting to get everything in place for the child. The father has found a daycare that can accept the child, but he has requested help with the registration fee. The registration fee is $125. He is not able to apply for childcare assistance until he is granted custody of the child, which should occur in June.

There are two children within this placement. One of the children does have Autism. The other child is thriving in the placement. Clothing is needed to preserve this placement as both children are growing rapidly and the family member keeping the children cannot afford clothing on top of other bills and expenses for the children. One child wears a 4T in clothes and a 9 in shoes. The other wears a 13 shoe and a 5T in clothing. Both children are under the age of 6.

This family's case was opened due to a young child being assaulted by their step-father. The mother has filed for divorce and has to find a new place to live with the victim child and the other three children in the home, all age 10 and under. The mother needs help with a security deposit for a new apartment.

Two children are in Roanoke City DSS custody, and their parents are working toward getting them back by attending weekly visitation. They are also attending weekly parenting classes, per the department's request, but they do not have their own form of transportation. I am seeking two bus passes to help them with transportation to and from these events.

Houseless parents with limited supports and no income yet (father recently started a job) needs diapers and 3-6 month clothing for their three month old daughter. The child is in size 3 diapers and typically uses Luvs.

127 Place received a request from a member of a local church for a mom with three pre-school-age kids who are living in a motel. This family is from out-of-town looking for safety and a new life. They have no family support. They were just approved for an apartment with a move-in date of June 1, but they need help with deposits.

Mom started a job recently and has raised about half of the deposits. 127 Place is committing $500, but that leaves about $400 still needed for the deposits.

The family includes 4 children and the mother has requested some assistance with the basic needs for 3 of the children. Mom is currently staying home to care for the youngest child who has medical concerns and for the 3 older children when they return home from school, while her husband works during the day. The youngest child is a few months old, was born prematurely and uses a particular type of formula(Enfamil Enfacare, blue container). The child has begun to eat more and is developing well, but mom is asking for help in purchasing more formula, due to the child eating about a can of formula a day. The family would also like to start the child on soft foods(Stage 1 cereal). 2 other children in the home are in need of new socks(size 2, preferably white) and new boxers(size 10-12). Both of these children are boys. (no preferences on brand, color or style). This family has been working hard to provide the best care they can for the children and are asking for some assistance in purchasing the below listed items, to ensure they can continue to give their children the most basic needs. -Enfamil Enfacare(blue container) -Stage 1 cereal(no known allergies, no preference on brand) -Size 2 socks(boy) -size 10-12 boxers(boy)

A single mother is working towards reunification with her two toddlers. Her front door and her chain-link gate are having issues opening and closing which is causing safety concerns for her. She needs a front door and gate that can open and close easily whether it's maintenance on the door or a different door. This will increase the safety of her home for her and her children.

Family is in need of A/C home unit, family was in the process of getting repairs fixed in the home but had put a pause on those repairs because of the A/C unit went out. This is a home unit not a window unit needed. The value needed is actually $5000 estimate.

An older woman has recently taken in a small baby, and is in need of assistance with feeding and caring for the child. Due to a lack of established custody, it is difficult for the caretaker to obtain benefits for the child. By assisting now, it allows time to strengthen this placement, without the child having to enter foster care.

A grandmother caring for her three grandchildren, aged 3, 2, and 1, requires installation of two new windows in her residence, as the current windows are non-operational and pose safety concerns in the event of fire or emergency. Thank you for your assistance.
