I have a pregnant mom sleeping on an air mattress and could really use better support as she is 7 months pregnant. If she couldn't get a full-size bed, I am sure she would be happy with a twin. She is single with 3 other children and has worked very hard to get where she is right now. She is currently pregnant with a baby girl. She could use anything to help her get prepared for her arrival.

Critical Request
I have a family who is currently in an emergency housing situation. The family consists of a single mom with three children. The student is in 8th grade on my campus, but he also has a brother in 12th grade, and a brother that is too young for school. The family was just evicted from their housing situation, and they are staying at a hotel with no mode of transportation or funds. The family is in need of 200.00 dollars to be able to stay in a two bedroom hotel room for the week while they figure out a more permanent option. As of right now, both students are unable to attend school and all four family members are sharing one hotel room. The family's need is very urgent. Any assistance that can be offered is greatly appreciated.

A 17-year-old boy who lives with his elderly maternal grandmother needs to obtain his driver's license. He is a very responsible teenager who goes to school regularly, has a job, is involved in multiple sports, and uses his extra time to spend it with his family. He not only needs his driver's license so that he step into adulthood properly, but he also wants to be able to visit his parents who don't live close, be able to go to school/games/work without delay waiting on other people, and be able to get his sister to and from school and other services she needs because she also lives with her paternal grandmother and she works hours that sometimes interfere with getting her to and from school. Summary: Family of middle school student requesting help with groceries and utility bills. Context: Student comes from a single-parent household, where Mom is a dedicated educator struggling to make ends meet. In the past, the family has struggled with stable housing, but through their hard work and determination, they have improved their situation significantly. However, the start of school has put a strain on their resources, and they are needing help with groceries and their electricity bill. If this need was met even partially, it would help both the student and Mom maintain the stability and wellbeing they have worked so hard to achieve.

A kinship caregiver took on the needs of a 2-year-old little boy in order to keep him with his older sibling. This kinship caregiver took in these kids with a house full of kids of her own already. She is limited on space and is having kids share beds right now. Due to the increase in kids, funds are allocated to maintain the basic needs and function of the family, food, and education. She is looking at obtaining a bunk bed to help our kids have their own bed and be able to feel like individuals and sleep well at night. This will help immensely and she will be grateful for any help.

A family at Castleberry Elementary school reached out to the school counselors because they are needing help with rent assistance and car repairs. The single mom of two children, moved to the Castleberry ISD area in April of 2023. Mom had a job and was able to get a place for her and the children to live. The only car the family has started having mechanical issues, including no AC, which would not provide consistent transportation to and from the mom's job. The family is also behind on their electric bill in which they just received a notice that it would be cut off if not paid. Mom also was having trouble getting enough hours at her place of employment to help pay the bills. Currently, mom is two months behind on rent and the landlord is threatening eviction. She is trying to pay a little at a time to keep from getting evicted but can't get enough to get caught up. She is looking for other jobs that can help her get more hours, but currently her work visa will expire at the end of September and she doesn't have the funds to afford to renew it, which will cause her to have an even more difficult time finding employment. Mom is worried about her kids not having a place to live. She is currently working on getting on food stamps and has visited local food banks so her kids have food. Mom is willing to take on a second job and do what she needs to do to get back on her feet for not only herself, but for her kids as well.

We had a mother come in this afternoon (8/29) sharing that her and her two children (elementary and middle- GCISD) will be evicted tomorrow (8/30) if they do not come up with the rent for the past 3 months. We are looking into trying to get them temporary housing while they try to get into a more permanent situation. Hotel/motel vouchers would be super helpful. The mother has had her car repossessed by the bank and is now borrowing from someone. She would benefit from a gas card in the mean time to get to her new job.

I have a single mother with 5 children, ranging from high school age through elementary age. The family is currently living in their car, and with this Texas heat I am worried about them being able to keep cool. Mom has been trying to get the children to stay at friends' houses for relief. Mother has been calling shelters daily, but her two oldest children are males in highschool and the shelters will not allow them to stay in the women and children's shelter. Or the shelter will tell Mother that she has too many children, and the shelter does not have enough beds for them. There is a weekly hotel nearby, for $550 the week or $2,200 for the month. Any amount of assistance would be appreciated. The number one need is for stable housing for this family. Do any churches have an apartment or a space they family could live in until Mom is able to get on her feet?
