This amazing family welcomed a child into their home this March, but they are not receiving financial assistance from OKDHS at this time. They've faced so much this year, including losing their home and having to quickly relocate. Tragically, last month, the foster mother's ex-husband and father to her children passed away. As his next of kin, she took on the responsibility of arranging and paying for his funeral, which has left her completely depleted financially. She's now in a difficult position and doesn't even have gas money to get to work. They could really use some support to help them get by until her next payday on the 15th. Anything you could offer would be a tremendous help.

I have a newly certified foster family in need of some items for their first placement. They originally were only open to having one child placed in their home but they have opened their home to a sibling group of two children. The children are ages 3 and 4 and the family has two biological children of their own. Because they opened their home to more children than they originally planned the foster family is in need of an additional twin bed and mattress as well as a three point harness car seat.

We have a natural mom who is needing assistance with paying for half of a parenting teens class that is a required service for her to reunify with her children. This mom has been working diligently to complete the services asked of her by DHS for reunification. The total amount of the class is $120 and we are asking for help with at least $60 towards the full payment. If this need is met, this mom will gain knowledge and support needed to parent her pre-teen to teenage children.

We have a possible kinship home that we would like to license. The biological parents are monolingual Spanish speaking and the current foster home, while absolutely amazing, is not bilingual. The prospective kinship family that shares the same culture and language as the parents, has passed all Oklahoma backgrounds checks, and county checks in California. However, they have only been in this state for 2 years. We will need a statewide Child Welfare background check from California. The cost of this is $15.00. We would like to send the request with the money order via fed ex overnight (a cost of approximately $25.00) to expedite the process. I have been in contact with the agency in California and they have stated once received they will try and complete it as an expedited request due to the child being a newborn. This would allow us to get the baby out of traditional care and into the kinship home.

A young mother of two precious kids does not have a reliable phone and has been struggling to stay in consistent contact with providers, caseworkers, and her children. A donation of a prepaid phone and 30 day card would make a huge difference in her day to day life as she would be able to call and speak with her children regularly and make sure that she is able to get the most out of her services. This mom is young and has been going through so much. This kindness would be a big leap in helping her turn things around. Thank you!

The biological mother of two young boys is actively working toward long-term sobriety and the establishment of a stable, nurturing home environment for her children. She is making efforts to distance herself from the negative influences and high-risk environments that have previously compromised her well-being and her ability to parent safely and consistently. She currently has an opportunity to move into an apartment located in a different neighborhood. This new setting offers her the chance to build a safer and more structured environment—free from the triggers and social pressures that have challenged her recovery in the past. Relocating would not only support her sobriety but also significantly improve the safety, stability, and overall well-being of her two children. This move would be a proactive step in breaking harmful cycles and prioritizing her role as a present and responsible parent. There is a $40 application fee required to begin the process, and she does not currently have the funds to cover it. We are asking for assistance from anyone willing to contribute this amount to help her take this next step forward.

Two young parents are just working on the final missing piece in order to have their 3 small children (3 under 3) home with them again. They have gone above and beyond completing all of their services and have maintained sobriety for the past 18 months. They have been engaged and absorbed in any and all family times that have been offered to them. They have been trying to find housing for the past several months as that is the only thing standing in the way of the children going home. We have begun weekly overnight visits in the meantime so that Trial Reunification can begin the moment housing is secured. The overnights have been occurring in a hotel that is being rented one night a week for the family to stay together. Any assistance with a hotel room for their visit next week would be such a blessing as they are trying to save every penny they have for rent and deposits.

Good afternoon. I am requesting some assistance for parents needing help to cover part of their electric bill. They have found themselves a little short on funds this month. The father has been looking for employment and has attended several interviews. He has not heard back from anyone though. They would appreciate if they could get help with at least $100 of the bill which is $228. I have a copy of the bill with all the details needed for someone to help cover a portion of it.

Good afternoon! I have a father that recently moved into a mobile home with his daughter. He would like to get the carpets cleaned. It is a two-bedroom single wide home, it's not very big. If you have the means to help out with this request, whether it be to loan him a carpet cleaner/shampooer or you have the means to have this done professionally, he would be very appreciative. I looked up the cost of renting a Rug Doctor ($40) and a professional cleaning service ($150).
