Cornerstone Crossroads Academy is a small high school serving students who have not been successful in traditional educational settings. We do everything in our power to set our students up for success. We have a single mother of 3 who has recently moved and is in urgent need of beds, bedding and household goods for herself and her 3 small children. She is working diligently to graduate from high school, but currently has nearly nothing in her new apartment.
Katy:
We would love to bless this family! Please let us know the ages/sex of the children so we can get the right bedding. Please feel free to call me directly at(###) ###-#### or email ******@email.com - Katy
The caregiver is in the process of having her home licensed. She is a single woman who assumed care of the child, who is also her cousin and 5-years-old, after his mother had mental breakdown. Mother's current whereabouts are unknown, and she has been in and out of mental institutions. Caregiver has had child since birth and is requesting financial assistance to pay her utilities so she can have her home licensed and receive ongoing financial support for the child.
Kinship caregiver is needing assistance, child (13 yo) is afraid of the dark and is needing battery operated night lights, and video baby monitor. When this need is met the child can feel more secure and feel safe.
A couple took in their infant niece a few months ago. Their niece is growing fast and she is too big for her bassinette now and is in need of a crib. The caregivers are also in need of help purchasing the crib mattress and sheets. The caregivers are on one income at this time and are in the need financially of assistance with this need for their niece.
A single mother of 4 is in need of some assistance with furniture. The father of the 3 youngest recently had a mental health episode and he can no longer assist with the children physically or financially. This has caused a significant amount of strain on the mother. There are 4 children, 2 male and 2 female. There is an age range from 17 Y to 8 months old. Her home has beds for each of the children but lacks a dining room table, and couches for their 2 living areas.
A kinship caregiver home is requesting assistance with paying for daycare for 1 week of the month of December. The child is going to be moving out of the country with family and the case will be closing as permanency is about to be achieved. However, the caregivers are requesting help to pay for the 1 week of daycare at the daycare that the child has been going to for the past 10 months and that he loves. The child is an adorable 11 month old little boy. The caregivers finances are tight at this time and all assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Single mother of four children is in need of appropriate sleeping arrangements for her 1-year-old (male), 5-year-old (female), 6-year-old (male), and 6-year-old (female) children. This is important to ensure a high level of safety for the children while they are sleeping, this would allow for every reasonable precaution to be taken to protect the children from harm and hazard. It is also important for children to have a healthy sleep for their growth and immunity.

A single caregiver was just licensed to adopt her 3 year old niece. This little girl will be 4 years old in January. Her niece recently had a huge growth spurt and does not have fall and winter clothes that fit her. The little girl is need of size 6-7 clothing that is appropriate for fall and winter.
An aunt and uncle took in their triplet nieces and nephew to their home upon their release from the hospital after their birth. The babies are now 7 months old and are in the process of transitioning to their cribs. The caregivers are requesting assistance with crib mattresses and crib sheets for the babies. The family has had a lot of expenses in caring for the babies and are requesting help with the cost of crib mattresses and sheets. The donation of crib mattresses will allow the caregivers to continue to meet the other needs of the babies. The caregivers are in the process of getting licensed with their hopes of adopting the babies.
This 6-person family does the best they can on under $50,000 annual income. They are working on moving out of their current apartment which is in bad condition. During a storm, there was a bad leak which caused water damage in one of the bedrooms which destroyed the beds in the room. They had to throw the beds out and are currently sharing 2 mattresses for all members of the family. They do not want to replace the beds until they move but would like help with some air mattresses to improve the quality of life for their children until they move and can save money for beds.
A mother and her three children (5 YO, 9 YO, 16 YO) are currently staying with paternal aunt. They are currently sleeping on one air mattress between the four of them. The family is in need of a bunk bed and mattress' so that the children can sleep in their own beds and have more room for comfort.
The mother had to relocate due to domestic violence, they are staying in a Airbnb. She was approved for an apartment and looking for help to play her deposite
I have a family who is the victim of domestic violence, a mother and her 4 daughters. Mother suffered domestic violence at the hands of her husband. She alerted law enforcement and tried to leave the home. During the violence that occurred in the home, the furniture got destroyed. The husband left the home and mom is left in the home with her daughters having to look at the aftermath of the abuse daily. The furniture is completely broken and torn. I have not been able to sit down during my visit. Mom has been looking for employment since she lost her job so she has not had money to purchase furniture. She is barley getting by but would like the children to feel good in their home, which is hard to do when the furniture is torn and is a reminder of what occurred. Helping this family furnish their home would result in the children feeling better about the situation and work on moving on without a constant reminder of what happened. This will also be a relief for mom as it will be one less thing she has to worry about while she is working on putting her life back together.
I have a wonderful sixteen-year-old girl that has been in care for one year. She finally has the opportunity to be placed with a family member instead of in a foster home. She was placed last Friday, and she looked so happy to be there. The family member was ready for her with her own room. However, when she went to get the queen size bed out of storage, it had been destroyed by the elements. The family member is a single person that would have to save up for many months to afford to pay for a new one. Right now, the sixteen-year-old is sleeping in the family member's bed and the family member is sleeping on the couch. This is not a long-term solution. We are requesting a new or used Queen size bed for a growing teenager. Thank you for your help in maintaining this family connection.

There are resources made available from the community. We are taking the lead and working out the details. Could you send over the contact information for the family?

Geoffrey:
Laura, thank you so much for your generosity to meet this need! Would you want to be involved in getting the bed to the recipient or have someone else handle that portion?
I have a single father who is caring for his 11 year old daughter. The daughter is disabled and was recently discharged from the hospital. The father and child were kicked out of their home and are currently living in a hotel. The father is behind on his hotel bill and owes $225. If he doesn't catch up on his bill they will be kicked out of the hotel and become homeless. His daughter is also required to drink Pediasure everyday due to failure to thrive but they ran out and the father doesn't have enough funds to purchase anymore. If she doesn't get the nutrition needed she can lose weight, which will place her back in the hospital. I am also requesting $60 to purchase two boxes of Pediasure that will last her a month. The daughter was recently approved for disability and the father will have additional income to care for her once payment begins.
Three girls have been returned home to their mother. Mom finally got them a place of their own and is in need of new beds for the girls. Due to switching jobs and other moving expenses, buying new beds is not in her budget. The girls have outgrown their current beds, and are in need of new ones to make them more comfortable in their new home.
This request is for a little girl who is residing with her great aunt. This little girl has been so fortunate to have some clothes provided from other resources in Dallas county but now needs somewhere to put them. I am requesting a dresser for this family.
Non offending parent (dad) has gotten his own home for him and his 2-month-old baby to live in. Baby was removed from the hospital due to mother's drug use during pregnancy. At the time of removal, the department was unable to determine if dads' home was safe or not due to unknown roommates. Since removal, dad has moved out of the home and gotten his own 'tiny home'. He has worked hard to pay for the safety deposit, first month's rent, and all the baby items needed to care for an infant.
He still needs help getting a sofa/chairs and a diaper bag. Additionally, if it's possible to assist with rent, that would help make up for the unexpected cost of purchasing all the items needed to care for his son. He works full time at a restaurant and has no family/support system in the U.S. He is an amazing dad who is willing to do whatever it takes to have his son in his care. I truly cannot say enough great things about this father and the love he has for his son. I know he would greatly appreciate assistance of any kind.
Two boys ages 5 and 2 are needing dressers to store their clothes. Kinship placement (grandparents) is not able to afford this expense. Grandparents are older and not able to work to afford this added cost. Family needs either one dresser that is big enough for both boys to use or two dressers for each boy.
The family needs help catching up on bills. Due to death of a child, followed by medical issues, parent was not able to work. Recently started working again and needs help catching up on electric bill so that they can remain in the home and not disturb the daily routines.
