The ages and sizes are as follows
The sizes are as follows:
Girl 3-6 months
Boy pants size 29 and large shirts/hoodies
We are in need of everything for these kiddos. clothes, shoes, toys, beds, diapers, wipes, baby supplies, formula, car seats, baby gates, outlet covers everything, and anything would be helpful for this family.
The father in this case is a former addict and is trying to reintegrate with his children with very little supports to rely on. He has been working on his mental health, maintaining employment at a local production factory, and maintaining his sobriety. He has been jumping through all of these hoops all while maintaining as good a relationship with his 4 children as he can. His ex-wife has been less than willing to work with this agency as well to reintegrate with her children, so in this case the father is doing this alone. The two smallest children have special needs and quite a lot of behavioral issues. At this time, the father needs help on a security deposit for a residence. Our agency is able to help with half of this need, but there is a total need of $1,100 to help make this happen. The father did not want to ask for assistance, but has finally agreed to seek help for this substantial amount. This agency has plans to immediately work towards overnight visits with the intent of reintegration soon after should he be able to move into this residence. Thank you for any and all assistance.

I have a single mom in need of assistance with obtaining a sturdy garment/ clothing rack (that is enclosed/ can be covered) to store her clothing. Mom and her youngest rent a bedroom with limited closet space. Soon her other child will be moving in with her, which will make things a little tight on space in the bedroom. Her roommates have approved her putting a garment rack outside of her bedroom door so she can have space to fit clothing. The family will appreciate any donation- new or used. It appears garment racks range from $15 to $60.
I may be able to assist with this. I have a used covered (zips up the middle) garment rack in good condition. The size is a concern as it is 5'2" high, 5' wide and 19" deep. If this will work for this family, please let me know. Jennifer Lopez
Good evening! I have a single mom with a baby boy in need of a high chair and a gate for an average size door. Her little guy is on the move and doing big things. She is happy for a new or used items. If this is something you can help with please let me know. Thank you.
This single mother of two, works really hard to provide for her children, but when the children were home while the mother was working, the children made her pots and pans into toys for their enjoyment. The mother had only a few pots and pans and silver ware before the children's fun day and now she has very little. It would help this mother out tremendously to have her plates and bowls and a couple of pots and pans were replaced.
DCCCA is working with a single mother and two teenage children who have recently moved and are needing some basic items for their home as they reestablish themselves. Mom is disabled and cannot work and the family lives on a fixed income and are not able to make these extra purchases on their budget. Gently used items would be accepted. Thank you.

work for the family?
This family is currently facing financial hardship due to being a single-income household, as mom has been facing some health issues. They're dealing with food insecurity and struggling to pay utility bills, as well as recently having to pay for bed bug treatment for the home. They already receive food stamps and utilize community resources (e.g., Just Food) when they can.
I think they'll take any amount of relief they can get, and in any form, whether it's gas cards so they can get to work, gift cards for the grocery store, cash reimbursement for bed bug treatment, etc. In addition, the family is facing financial hardship to provide Christmas gifts.
Single mother with little social support. She just had a baby, and he needs formula. Her WIC appointment is not until 12/15 so she can have the program cover the formula expenses. She did try breast feeding but her body has not been producing milk. Mom is needing Similac 360 total care formula. I have included the following link for this formula found at the Target in Mission, which is right next door to our office:
Thank you for your support of mom and baby!
A NRKIN foster home received a new placement, an infant girl on 11/17. The foster home has the infant's three other sisters, all ages 3 and younger. The home greatly needs a crib and mattress for the infant. The home could also use a two-child stroller as the infant's older sister just turned one. Additionally, the older sister could use a car seat as that car seat will now be used for the new infant. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
A NRKIN foster home who has placement of four sisters, ages 3 and younger are in need of a new van as their current van has numerous mechanical issues. The family needs help purchasing a new van or financial assistance making repairs on current van. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Single mom with 6 kids under the age of 8, two of them being a 2 month old twins. One of the fathers is incarcerated as of 2021. The father of the newborn twins passed away before a month before the twins were born from a health condition. The family has been through a lot of change the last couple of years. Mom had planned on having double income to support her family but does not have that extra support now. Mom is trying to meet the needs of the kids while still working to have enough income to support her family and not be behind in rent. The 3 y/o has a seizure disorder and the 1.5 y/o just got diagnosed with Autism. Mom has a lot of kids and is requesting a dresser to put help with organization and separation of children’s clothes.
Father of 3 needing assistance with paying for gas and groceries. The family has just recently gotten into an apartment after living between a car and a hotel for months. After utilities and rent were paid no money remains for gas to get the kids to summer school, to pick up groceries, and get Dad to work.
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated
A family with 3 children is in need of assistance to pay for the father's surgery, so that they don't fall behind on rent. The father is the only source of income for the family, so recovering from surgery will also impact the family's income and ability to pay bills.
We responded to a CarePortal request for this family back in September. Bio family had just reintegrated with their two female children ages 5 and 4 and were needing help with rent and two dressers. We were able to connect on both of the needs and met this sweet family in person to deliver the items. Soon after, a car battery installation was needed and before we even had a chance to have one of our volunteers get over there to help, dad had already taken care of it himself. They have a strong desire to be independent.
We have been staying in touch with them and they recently let us know that the vehicle had broken down for good. Thankfully, they have another car they can use if the past due payment on it is made. They are able to afford the monthly payments on their own, they just need help getting caught up. Any amount is appreciated and will help get them closer to self-sufficiency again.
As a previous worker at Children's Division I know first hand the stress and hard work these workers go through. I would love to spread some love to the local Children's Division office downtown KC by supplying them with an Ice Maker. This seem like a small thing but they have been needing an ice maker since I was there 2 1/2 years ago and even before then. They have an older fridge that they have some ice trays in the freezer but that is not enough for everyone to add some ice to their beverages. An Ice maker would be a huge blessing to these workers as they can grab ice and water on their way to their next visit. They could grab ice for the soda donated to them from churches.
I have done some research on ice makers and have found a few that could work for their break room space. I am asking $500 for the ice maker and an additional $500 to help cheer up their break room adding new chairs, tables and items to make it feel more inviting and comfortable.
These items could go a long way for these workers and just in time for the hot days coming up! Thank you!
A single mom with an 8 year-old boy and 9 year-old girl coming out of homelessness after losing disability benefits and are in major need of funding for utility bills. Dad is an addict and not in the picture and uncle on dad's side is helping them get stable. They are staying in an empty house owned by a relative of the uncle and he is paying their rent for now but they are living with no furniture, water or electricity. There are past due balances and activation fees on the electric and water that need to be paid in order for them to be turned on, totaling almost $1500, but any amount helps! We are hoping the CarePortal community can contribute some funds to help get the utilities turned on for this family.
