At our summer kids club we provide lunch for a diverse set of students, Tuesday - Thursday at Noon. Each Summer we ask churches, families, or individuals to come serve meals to our students. We typically have around 60 students enrolled. In some cases, there are left over food, and this will be used towards a day when no one is signed up to bring food. We would love for you to partner with us to serve these students that perhaps wouldn't have food during these days if it weren't for opportunities like these. We have started a sign-up genius to allow volunteers to sign up to serve meals.

In our program we provide a snack each day that our children come to our Summer Kid's Club. These children are in our care during many hours that they would be left unattended and many only eating once per day. We provide lunch and snack. We also bridge the learning gap that happens to many during the summer. Keeping their little bellies full helps to open their minds to instruction and care. We prefer a fruit or veggie along with something like gold fish or peanut butter crackers.

We have an older foster mom who just took in a teen girl. Foster mom works at a daycare and is starting the DHS process for home approval but has been living off credit cards to get the teen everything she needs. Foster mom needs a lot of assistance for this placement as it was very unexpected, and the teen girl came into the home with little to nothing. A biological mother that I am currently working with recently completed time in prison for mistakes that she made and completed a halfway program following that. She is expressing that she would like to make changes in her life. She is currently living with a friend for a short time frame and reports that it would be helpful for her to get to services and to get a job if she had a bus pass.

An incredible mother is at the final stages of reunifying with her youngest child, while continuing to take care of her two other children. She has worked for months and done everything she needs to to support all of her children, but has had challenges arise recently towards paying her current electric bill to ensure her house is stable. Any assistance would go a long way in helping her complete this reunification successfully with her youngest child.

A young mother and survivor of domestic violence needs help paying for her EMT certification exam. This young mother was abused during pregnancy and as a result her baby has many health needs. To help support her child and to reunite with him from foster care, the mother wants to continue to pursue her EMT certification. She's already taken and passed all of the required classes; she just needs to take the exam and pay for her license. If you could help her, this would be a huge blessing for this determined mama.

I’m reaching out on behalf of a family I am working with who has a 7-year-old child who has been diagnosed with autism. The family is seeking support to provide their child with a weighted blanket, as well as noise cancelling headphones. The child is reported to love dinosaurs, purple, and shiny items, so the requested items below reflect the child’s preferences 😊

These types of sensory items have been shown to help children with disabilities feel more grounded and calmer, providing them with the comfort they need to navigate everyday challenges. This small act of kindness could make a big difference in this child's emotional wellbeing.

The family would be deeply grateful for any assistance in obtaining these items and they’re hopeful that the community can come together to support them in this effort!

I have a bio mother who is working hard on her treatment plans and she has been seeing her 12 year old daughter as much as she is able. Her child has family therapy at least once a week and this bio mom is able to do visitations with her child multiple times a week. This bio mother does not have transportation but she is able to take the city bus for these visits. This bio mother is in need of a 30-day unlimited bus pass to assist her with her transportation needs to be able to have visitation with her daughter. Meeting this need would help strengthen this bio family and help mother and daughter build their relationship. Any support or assistance meeting this need would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

The family has added 3 children to their household and recently had a job change that is impacting their immediate financial situation negatively. The family is requesting assistance with groceries until their new monthly income begins.

A father needs help obtaining a monthly bus pass. The bus pass would ensure he is able to make it to visitations with his daughter and to his service providers to complete his initial intakes to begin services. The bus pass would also help him to make it to any upcoming job interviews that he can schedule. Helping with this need would provide this parent with a sense of relief and assurance knowing he would be able to get from point A to point B and would benefit his daughter by helping him to get started in services.

Food Donation for Children at the Family Tree The OKDHS Family Tree offers a home-like setting for children awaiting placement. The Center is a safe, comfortable environment for children as the child welfare worker completes necessary paperwork and identifies a foster placement. Children often come in hungry. The Family Tree allows children to choose what they want to eat, giving them a choice when they do not have many choices. We have a list of possible suggestions but are open to any food donation that is easily prepared. The Family Tree has a refrigerator and can accept frozen or cold foods. Thank you for your help!

A single parent foster home has a child with higher needs to which she has to leave work daily to pick the child up to attend therapy then commute back to work. This request is for funds or a gift card to help put towards gas for this daily commute as therapy does not have a foreseeable end date and additional support is needed for the home. Any contribution to this would be much appreciated to this very deserving family.
