The maternal grandmother took the two young children in after the mother's mental health has not been managed. The children will be staying with her permanently and she had to move out of the home she had just recently moved into due to it having black mold. One child has autism and there are so many financial changes and needs for this grandmother. She needs a washer and dryer used is fine. She would benefit from a gas card or bill payments help. She could use financial help or anything anyone is willing to help with.

A youth has just returned with her mother in April. The biological mother, her family, and the youth moved into a bigger house and is needing some financial assistance with her electric bill. Any financial assistance to help with the adjustment would be greatly appreciated for this family.

Food Donation for Children at the Family Tree The OKDHS Family Tree offers a home-like setting for children awaiting placement. The Center is a safe, comfortable environment for children as the child welfare worker completes necessary paperwork and identifies a foster placement. Children often come in hungry. The Family Tree allows children to choose what they want to eat, giving them a choice when they do not have many choices. We have a list of possible suggestions but are open to any food donation that is easily prepared. The Family Tree has a refrigerator and can accept frozen or cold foods. Thank you for your help!

I am working on a case for a single mother of two children. She is currently attending preventive classes for domestic violence and is making great progress. She is actively seeking employment, but she is having difficulty managing her schedule without a stroller to help transport her one-year-old son and two-month-old daughter. This mother is looking for a new or used double stroller to assist her in safely navigating their daily activities.

Leah's Hope is a transitional housing program that supports women in crisis gain stability. Our newest participant is a 19 year old single mother with a 2 year old daughter. This mother does not currently have her own transportation, so she must utilize public transportation, rides from friends or family, or walking. Safety is a concern when she is walking with her daughter, because she does not have a stroller. We are needing assistance with getting a traditional stroller for this toddler (not an umbrella stroller) who is 2 years old and weighs 32 pounds. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hello all. We have a child who is experiencing his 2nd time in state custody at a young age. The child is currently on his 3rd placement within a year and the foster dad has recently been laid off at work. He is very good at what he does, but a bigger company bought out the shop that he works at and closed down the shop. The foster dad gave no time for excuses and immediately started submitting his resume, but now bills are starting to stack up. The foster family expressed that they were embarrassed to ask for assistance, but they didn't know what else to do. The foster family is specifically needing assistance with a gas bill, a light bill, and a water bill.

I am working a prevention case with a single mother and her three children. The mother is currently looking for employment. She is also participating in substance abuse services and doing everything the department has asked of her, to include maintaining her sobriety and providing clean drug screens. The children are in high need of clothing and new/used shoes. This family (and I) would be grateful for any help.

This request is for a kinship family who has 1 biological child and 2 foster children. The foster parents are fostering their two youngest brothers, one of whom is autistic. The youngest child has been hospitalized for almost a week with rhinovirus, strep, pneumonia, and something that is causing the child to have a rash. The family has been struggling to pay their utility bill the past month and has not reached out for help until now as the child being in the hospital is their priority. The family has received a cut off notice. Their total bill is $476.10 however, we are just asking for the disconnect fee of $259 to be covered to avoid services getting shut off.

Child has been reunified with his bio mother after 12 years apart. His mother will accomplish reinstatement of her parental rights, something few parents are able to do. The child was placed back with the mother and she does not receive any foster care payments for the child. He is in need of storage for his toys and a dresser for his clothing. This is a request for help obtaining tickets for day admission to the OKC Zoo. A mother and her three children ages (7, 6, & 4) have been in trial reunification for two months. Maternal grandmother also resides in the home and is an added support for the family. They are on a very fixed income and during a home visit with CASA, the mother mentioned she would love to be able to take the kids to the zoo, but that it would be too expensive. The children's basic needs are being met, but extra outings that would provide family fun and enrich their lives, are simply out of reach for this young family. If a church is able to donate tickets for the family, I am confident the family would have the time of their lives. These kiddos have never been to a zoo. I am the School Based Social Services worker for a family of three. The caretaker is partially blind and does not have access to transportation. Two of her children attend Epic Schools and are needing help getting to and from their school site for testing. These would be two visits that would require an Uber or taxi service. The family is aware that these services only cover a direct route from their home to the Epic site and back, no deviations are allowed. The amount provided is an estimate, but may be lower than the request. These tests are critical to their educational advancement and missing the dates would hinder their eventual graduation. Your assistance would mean a lot for the family.

This request is for neighbors of RestoreOKC. This is an older couple raising their teenage children ages 13, and 14 who need household furniture for the whole house, and they also need rental assistance. The mother and father are unable to work due to health conditions. The father receives SSI, and it was recently stolen, and SSI is doing an investigation on the report. So, this has put the family behind for rent from last month. RestoreOKC would love for a church to come along and help this family with support, love and kindness.
