Clay County Children's Division frequently works with families who do not have transportation, but they need to get their children to the hospital, to forensic interviews, or to other vital appointments. These appointments are often unplanned and urgent. We are requesting 5 $50 Uber cards to have available when these unexpected needs arise.

The family just had a newborn and is needing a bed, parents are currently sleeping on air mattress.

We have a family who is really struggling. There are 4 children in the home all middle school aged and younger. They are requesting assistance with their electric bill that way they can still cover their other bills. The full amount for their electric bill is 310.54. However, anything would help them to get back on their feet. They have fallen behind on their phone bill and rent as well. If they received assistance with their electric bill, they could cover their other bills without having to prioritize any of them over the others. Thank you!

Single mom of two children (one with significant medically complexity) is struggling to pay her rent this month due to misplacing the already purchased money order for their income-based housing. Mother has taken great lengths to locate the misplaced payment but has come up short. There aren't any community agencies able to help until she has received a formal eviction notice which she doesn't want to risk due to the need for stable housing of her medically complex child. Please consider assisting with this tangible need!

6 year old girl in need of items for an upcoming trip to Texas for her brother's surgery. Her brother has a genetic medical condition and is going to have surgery in Austin, TX in June on his jaw/face for reconstruction and possible tracheotomy removal. The family will be driving to Austin and renting a place to stay for several weeks. The family is hoping to gather items to help their child manage the long drive as well as the many hours she will spend at the hospital with her brother. Items that might be helpful would be coloring books, drawing supplies, crayons, markers, colored pencils, small lego sets, medical play kit (she wants to be a doctor) and she loves mermaids and unicorns. This family would be very appreciative of any help that could be provided.

This family of soon-to-be four are dealing with unsanitary living conditions, and need to move out of their apartment. There is a clog in the bathroom, and sewage water is overflowing into the apartment. The landlord is refusing to work with the family, as their names are not on the lease- they are subleasing from a friend who has been deported. Mom is pregnant, and cannot be around the sewage. Mom found an apartment they can afford, but need help with the application fee of $80 and the deposit of $450. Once they get those covered, they should be able to cover rent and other bills each month with no problems. The family would like to move as soon as possible, as their current living arrangement is unlivable.

Single mother of 2 is working very hard to find stable housing and work while also uninsured. One of the two children has been bullied at school for the clothes that she wears. The bullying has been relentless, to the point of daughter wanting to self-harm. The daughter is in safe hands. Clothes for the daughter are hard to find, as in age appropriate and in her style in sizes 2X. A gift card to any clothing places that has her size would help take a burden off of mom's shoulder and empower her daughter to feel more confident in choosing her clothes. There is an ICPC relative placement for 3 siblings ages 14,11 and 8. There are 2 girls and boy living with their grandmother in St.Joseph MO. This is the only relative placement option for all 3 siblings, and we would like to preserve this placement as everything else is going well. This family is urgently needing support with deep cleaning the house and bed bugs extermination before the walkthrough that will be performed by MO ICPC on May 14,2025. Grandmother has already applied first round of bed bug treatment; however, we would like to make sure that the infestation is removed completely. It would be easier for this family to maintain cleanliness if they receive support with deep cleaning. We would really appreciate all the help this family can receive before May 14.

The mother is needing to complete a drug screen to prevent a child from coming into care.

This family is just coming from homelessness but just got moved into their new home! I'm so excited for them as its a big step this family. The mother who is disabled has been working so hard at getting everything together for there new home and could use a little love and support from her community in getting a bed for her child and couch for the house. Single father just got out of rehab and is trying to get back on his feet. Could use a little of everything. Currently living in car.

Local teen in need of bedsheets and pillows. Looking for KING size sheets and two new pillows for teen's room. Please note that request may say queen size due to king not being an option to select
