My kin caregiver is currently caring for her (2) 19-year-old great nephews who arrived separately in 2006 and 2019. She has since adopted her great nephew who arrived as a 6-month-old infant in 2006 and currently cares for her great nephew who was placed with her at 14 years old in 2019. The great aunt lives on a fixed income and serves as the sole provider to her household of three. Recently, a large split began forming on the family’s dining room table from wear-and-tear and the table has started to wabble. As a result, the table no longer provides a safe, stable place for her nephews to eat their meals. Additionally, an ergonomic, adjustable computer chair is needed for her great nephews’ bedroom, as their current computer chair has incurred significant wear-and-tear. Due to her limited resources, along with recent economic hardships, replacing these items poses a significant challenge for my kin caregiver. Assisting her with a dining table (approximately 56.25” length x 36” width x 36” height) and an ergonomic, adjustable computer chair would not only ensure that her great nephews have a comfortable place to enjoy their meals and entertain themselves in their downtime, but would also enable them to bond with one another.

Mother is receiving family reunification services through the Department of Children and Family Services. Mother has made substantial progress in addressing her issues and has complied with all of DCFS and Court ordered treatment plan. However, mother does not have stable housing. She reports she is temporarily staying with different friends but mother states their home is not able to accommodate her elementary and middle school age children. Mother does not have the adequate housing nor the resources to secure alternate housing to provide to her children so that she may safely care for them, if children are return to her care. Mother is undocumented. Court has granted overnight visits and the visits may take place in a hotel. The mother is asking if anyone can provide her with a gift card to be use to pay for a hotel. Mother has to show that she is able to care for her children during her visits. Mother would greatly appreciated and the children.

A single mother of four children is in need of bedding for her children. Client was able to get stable housing for her and her children two months ago and beds but not bedding for them. Client is in need of a twin bedding set and a full-size bedding set. Client is also in need of a shelving organizer and bathroom shelf organizer. Client wants to provide a safe and less cluttered space for her children. Due to client’s limited income, she is not able to provide necessary items for her children. Client currently is not able to work due to her mental health. Client is eager to work on her mental health to be able to return to work. Client is currently working with Case Manager on her resume and preparing for a better future for her and her children. Client states she is fortunate if anyone can help. This request is on behalf of a determined and resilient 35-year-old single mother with four children, ages 12, 9, 5, and a 4-month-old infant. Demonstrating remarkable courage and initiative, she recently secured employment in Las Vegas and is taking a bold step toward a brighter future for her family by relocating to begin this new chapter. Until now, the family has been living with the client’s parents in a shared household. With the support of loved ones and her own drive to improve her circumstances, she has secured a two-bedroom apartment in Las Vegas and will be moving before the end of May. However, because they’ve been staying with relatives, the family currently does not own any beds or bedding essentials. To help them make a successful transition and ensure the children have a comfortable and safe place to sleep, we are requesting support for: One bunk bed, One full-size bed, Bedding items including sheets, comforters, and pillows. This support will help alleviate some of the initial financial burden of relocating and allow the mother to focus on settling in and building stability for her children. Your assistance will provide not just furniture, but a foundation of comfort, dignity, and hope during this critical time. I am writing to seek assistance of a caregiver- a grandfather who is currently the primary guardian for his 16-year-old grandson. This responsible grandfather has stepped into a vital role, providing emotional, physical and financial support to his grandson during a critical period in the young man’s life. The grandfather is on a fixed income and faces financial strain, particularly as he also pays out-of-pocket for essential medical expenses. The grandfather is seeking assistance to obtain two sets of sofas to help furnish the home for both comfort and functionality. Providing the two sets of sofas would help the family remove the old ones and improve the quality of life.

Please help strengthen a biofamily led by the mother. The mother was a victim of severe domestic violence where she felt trapped in her own home. Mother was spied on and threatened that if she disclosed the domestic violence that she was enduring, she and the children would be killed. When mother found the opportunity to leave that situation, she had to do it promptly and without any preparation. Mother and her three children left the home with only the clothes on their back. The sudden decision was made as mother believed it was the only way to save her self and the children.

This family would really benefit from some gift cards for clothing for herself.

The family is composed of the mother, 3 children, and the father of the youngest child. The father is employed and is the main source of income for the family. The mother indicated that she sells different items online to support the family financially. The baby was born prematurely and has been in the NICU ever since. The mother reported that although the family was preparing for the child’s arrival, due to economic hardships they have not been able to afford the baby’s car seat. If an infant car seat is provided to the family, it would ensure the child’s safety travel and overall wellbeing by ensuring he can attend medical appointments.

We are asking for case of diapers and wipes as well as gift cards for groceries for a mother who has reunited with her children but is financially struggling at the moment. Meeting this need would help immensely with mother's mental health and stress. Mother has completed all her programs and therapy.

I am reaching out on behalf of a dedicated caregiver who is in urgent need of support. This caregiver lovingly cares for a young child (Almost 2) with autism and is currently facing a significant challenge. After a recent surgery, the caregiver is unable to safely carry or support the child while using their current umbrella stroller, which offers limited support and stability.

To ensure the child’s safety and comfort—and to help the caregiver manage day-to-day outings—we are requesting assistance in providing a full-size stroller. A sturdier stroller will allow for better support for the child and reduce physical strain on the caregiver during recovery.

This act of kindness will make a world of difference for a family navigating both medical recovery and the daily responsibilities of raising a child with unique needs.

A counselor at a local high school shared a need for a local family. The family was displaced, and did seek a motel voucher from the district. Thankfully they're back in an apartment, but the mom shared they're in need of a stove.The oldest a senior at the high school and there are two younger brothers. The family is requesting help in getting a gas stove.

#2 NMD has been an exemplary young adult in our AB12/ Extended Foster Care services as she has diligently continued her post-secondary education at Cerritos Colleges, where she is soon to graduate and anticipated to transfer over to a Cal State University of Dominguez Hills. NMD has maintained steady employment for years and now works with a large tech company. She has been a very respectful, responsible, communicative, independent, and a resilient young adult. This assistance will further her ability to become self-sufficient as she is well deserving of the help with her success in maintaining compliance with the department and should be rewarded for her great works and commitment to not only remaining eligible for services, but most of all progress for herself. She is in need of assistance in her transition out of her current home and into assisted living. She is in need of shirts, pants shoes and hygiene products.

She is in need of assistance in her transition out of her current home and into assisted living. She is in need of help for paying for Moving fees for storage and movers for her belongings until she moves into her permanent housing. She needs 600$ at minimum to help pay for storage and movers as she does not have family to house her belongings while she waits.
