Child has physical impairments that require a lot of medical attention. Family recently relocated here to better care for the child's needs. The family is in need of a wheelchair lift for their family van as they are currently lifting her and her wheelchair into the van and it is very difficult for them to do this. Any assistance with this request is appreciated.

Cornerstone Crossroads Academy is a small fully accredited high school for students that have not been successful in traditional educational settings. Many of our students live in transitional housing, some face homelessness, and virtually all face many many challenges to completing their high school diploma. Most of our students do not live with caring and loving adults that can meet their needs. We would like to provide a warm blanket to each of our 25 students for Christmas to share the love of Christ.

Two boys ages 5 and 2 are needing dressers to store their clothes. Kinship placement (grandparents) is not able to afford this expense. Grandparents are older and not able to work to afford this added cost. Family needs either one dresser that is big enough for both boys to use or two dressers for each boy.

A great aunt and uncle have stepped up and have taken in their niece's 4 children who range in age 6-11. The plan is for these children to be in the home permanently. The family washing machine has recently broke and is beyond repair. The family now spends a few evenings during the week at the laundry mat washing clothes for 7 people and then bringing them home to put in the dryer. A new washing machine will help this family greatly and reduce the stress of having to leave the home to do laundry.

A grandmother had her grandchildren, a 5 year old boy and 7 year old girl, placed with her. Her 4 year old grandson is in need of a new twin bed and mattress as well as bedding. Her grandson loves the cartoon Ben 10. This wonderful grandmother is in the process of becoming a licensed foster home so that she can adopt her grandchildren. The grandmother just started working again after taking time off to get her grandchildren settled in her home and help them with the changes in their lives. She does not receive any assistance from CPS and is requesting help with this need. Needs

Our small high school enrolls students that have not succeeded at traditional high school. Many of our students have been out of school for several years and now want to earn a diploma. Many are the first in their family to finish high school. CCA provides as many resources to help students succeed as we can. It is getting cold and most of our students need warm hats and gloves for the coming winter.

A foster parent is caring for 2 sisters who she wants to keep together. The two siblings affectionately call the foster parent granny. The caregiver needs bunk beds for the girls due to the size of the bedroom. Currently one is sleeping on an air mattress to avoid co-sleeping. When this need is met the two sisters can continue to thrive and make their room feel like home.

Single mother of 5 children is struggling to make her utility payments. She is unemployed and suffers from mental health. She is trying to find employment but is not having any success. She does receive government assistance for food and housing costs. The children are all under the age of 10. Supporting this request will positively affect the well-being of the children.

Mom and Dad have newly acquired their own home after living with family. Parents have 4 children. 3 of whom are old age appropriate for their own beds. In addition, she is requesting mattresses and sheets for the beds. The caregiver works hard to provide for her family and with this case being new she had to purchase other items for her cousin to be settled in her home and cannot afford bunk beds at this time.

Mother has few family members in south of Dallas. Mother works full time and is struggling financially and does not have childcare so she has she picks up the children from school and stay with mother at her job until she is off. Mother would definetely benefit in any help with finding a lawyer and getting a protective order because her husband can be dangerous and harm her physically.

Child just started kindergarten last week after completing an evaluation and getting qualified for special education. Child ran away from home and was found 0.5 mile away from the apartment and Law Enforcement was called. The oldest child just turned adult age and she works overnight. Adult child watches her siblings during the day when Parent is at work but all times that child ran away and was found by either Law Enforcement or neighbors, she was found sleeping. Darriel works 5 days a week and I assume that she is exhausted when she comes home and having to watch her younger siblings on top of that it can make her sleep deprived. Ms. Brooks works day shift at a gas station around the apartment they reside because she does not have a vehicle to transport. Parent stated to me that she never needed a vehicle prior to moving to Texas and she is working on getting her driver’s license to get a vehicle. Parent has 3 year old that is very hyperactive and destroys everything in his way. Parent is unable to keep up with maintaining the home clean with youngest child running around and getting into trouble and child with autism being a runner.
