Grandparents have four and one year old boys placed in their care, and they are working towards foster care certification. As part of the certification process, the adults' need to be First Aid/CPR certified. Although there is a discount for them to enroll in this class, with the additional expenses of parenting two young children, the family is just meeting the necessity of their family.

Grandparent kin providers are caring for their 1 and 4 year old grandsons. The 4 year old is on the autism spectrum, and recently broke through the gates they have on their stairs. They also need to replace the gates to provide stair safety for the one year old, and as a requirement for kinship foster care certification . They have a twin mattress but need a twin box spring so the mattress can be placed in a bedframe rather than on the floor. They are also in need of a five pound extinguisher for certification Updated on April 03, 2023 by an Agency Worker This family is still in need of a twin box spring! We have managed to meet the other needs through Care Portal and other sources.

This family with 3 children in the house is not able to afford furniture for their residence that would significantly improve home life. This family is requesting a kitchen table with chairs specifically. Thank you in advance for your time and consideration!

Beth:
Asking a clarifying question before we commit to this need: would a used kitchen table with five chairs be ok (there are several options on Facebook Marketplace) or would the family only prefer a new table and chairs? Thank you!
A grandmother had her infant grand daughter placed with her. She is in the process of getting certified. In order to do so, she must be CPR/First Aid certified. Typically, we provide this service at no cost to families, but she is Spanish speaking only, and the class will cost $75 to have in Spanish. We are asking for a gift card to cover this cost. The grandmother was injured at work prior to placement, which has reduced her income significantly. A Visa gift card to cover this expense will be greatly helpful.

Kinship providers have had a male (8) and a female (10) children in their home for the past three months. The children came with very little clothing, toys and personal items. The Care portal and other organizations have assisted this family with the holidays and birthday gifts, but the family has depleted their savings account trying to provide for the extra costs of additional groceries, clothing, personal items, increased transportation costs due to visitations, therapy appointments, activities, etc. and activities for the children. The 8 year old boy needs Good Nites, size small/medium, as he still wets his bed at night. 2 cases would last them for two-to three months. The family has registered the children for basketball ($50 fee) and club volleyball ($250 plus $20 first time player fee) and would greatly appreciate help with these costs. The family has already charged these fees on a credit card, so gift cards to help the family save money in other areas (Walmart, King Soopers etc.) would make a big difference. In addition, they are purchasing the boy basketball shoes and the girl shoes/knee pads for volleyball. Any gift cards to help with these fees or gifts cards for gas /shoes would be very helpful. Updated on January 19, 2023 by an Agency Worker The need for Goodnites has been fulfilled! Thank you!
We also received $100 gift card donation outside of the Care Portal. Updated on January 24, 2023 by an Agency Worker The request for gift cards for sneakers and knee pads has been met!!! Thank you.
