My kin caregiver is currently caring for her (2) 19-year-old great nephews who arrived separately in 2006 and 2019. She has since adopted her great nephew who arrived as a 6-month-old infant in 2006 and currently cares for her great nephew who was placed with her at 14 years old in 2019. The great aunt lives on a fixed income and serves as the sole provider to her household of three. Recently, a large split began forming on the family’s dining room table from wear-and-tear and the table has started to wabble. As a result, the table no longer provides a safe, stable place for her nephews to eat their meals. Additionally, an ergonomic, adjustable computer chair is needed for her great nephews’ bedroom, as their current computer chair has incurred significant wear-and-tear. Due to her limited resources, along with recent economic hardships, replacing these items poses a significant challenge for my kin caregiver. Assisting her with a dining table (approximately 56.25” length x 36” width x 36” height) and an ergonomic, adjustable computer chair would not only ensure that her great nephews have a comfortable place to enjoy their meals and entertain themselves in their downtime, but would also enable them to bond with one another.

Kinship. This family was affected by the LA Wildfires and this is for Disaster Relief. Kin Caregiver is currently caring for two teenage boys, and the family was displaced due to the LA wildfires. The family is currently staying at a motel. The home did not burn down but it was damaged, and they had to move out. The landlord has the caregiver in limbo because the landlord is not sure what she will do with the property. The caregiver is paying for 2 rooms nightly which totals $160.00 before taxes. Paying for the rooms, food and gas has been a lot for her. The caregiver stated that she is need of assistance with housing, gas for her car (ARCO) funding for groceries ( Walmart or Food 4 Less), the hotel rooms daily payment as well as clothing and hygiene products for the two teenage boys. She is not working right now but wants to find employment. She receives funding for the boys. She also stated that it is difficult to find employment right now due to being displaced. She is requesting the following: hotel assistance- $500, grocery gift card to Walmart or Food 4 Less-$400, gas gift to Arco-$200.00, clothing and shoes for children- $300.00 (each child) and gift card for hygiene products- $100.00 (each child).

Mother is receiving family reunification services through the Department of Children and Family Services. Mother has made substantial progress in addressing her issues and has complied with all of DCFS and Court ordered treatment plan. However, mother does not have stable housing. She reports she is temporarily staying with different friends but mother states their home is not able to accommodate her elementary and middle school age children. Mother does not have the adequate housing nor the resources to secure alternate housing to provide to her children so that she may safely care for them, if children are return to her care. Mother is undocumented. Court has granted overnight visits and the visits may take place in a hotel. The mother is asking if anyone can provide her with a gift card to be use to pay for a hotel. Mother has to show that she is able to care for her children during her visits. Mother would greatly appreciated and the children.

A single mother of four children is in need of bedding for her children. Client was able to get stable housing for her and her children two months ago and beds but not bedding for them. Client is in need of a twin bedding set and a full-size bedding set. Client is also in need of a shelving organizer and bathroom shelf organizer. Client wants to provide a safe and less cluttered space for her children. Due to client’s limited income, she is not able to provide necessary items for her children. Client currently is not able to work due to her mental health. Client is eager to work on her mental health to be able to return to work. Client is currently working with Case Manager on her resume and preparing for a better future for her and her children. Client states she is fortunate if anyone can help. I have attached the link in the notes section.

We have a young, single mother of 3 children (ages 1, 4 and 5). She is experiencing unstable housing and financial stress. The mother is a victim of domestic violence and is trying to keep her children sheltered and safe from harm. The mother has been residing with the maternal grandmother in a single unit apartment with the children. The MGM put the mother and children out on yesterday and stole the mother’s food stamps from her EBT card. The mother is not able to purchase any food for herself and the children. She was able to get a room in Hollywood through PATH and is awaiting placement in a DV shelter. DCFS and the agencies involved with this family are working tirelessly to find a residence the mother and children. The mother can be reached on her cell phone and the CSW is able to correspond with the mother accordingly. We are hoping that a donor will pick up this request and provide the family with a $300.00 grocery gift card or purchase food for the family so that the mother and children do not go hungry.

We have a mother who has a six-month old baby that is teething. The mother is very resilient and is thriving with all of her programs she is involved in. She is a domestic violence survivor and is using her experience to build and grow within her life. She is in therapy to address the concerns that brought her family to the attention of the Department. She is a domestic violence survivor. She is a good mother who truly cares for her daughter. During our meetings the baby is always smiling and giggling. Recently, the baby began teething and is in need of hypoallergenic-silicon weaning cups, baby spoons, feeding set, and food making system (NutriBullet). I am in hopes that some of these items can possibly make it to her.

The family is currently in dire need of gift cards (food4less or target) and a stroller for the one-month-old. Mother recently separated from the father of her youngest child who was their sole provider. In addition, mother is in need of a stroller for the infant and the purchase of a prepaid phone, as she was on a plan with father who is no longer in the home and providing support to the family.

This is an emergency situation involving two minors who were detained and placed with their paternal aunt. A previous request was made for bunk beds and two dressers. While one dresser has been received, an additional dresser is still needed to ensure both children have adequate storage space.

The paternal aunt continues to need support in providing a stable home environment.

This request is on behalf of a determined and resilient 35-year-old single mother with four children, ages 12, 9, 5, and a 4-month-old infant. Demonstrating remarkable courage and initiative, she recently secured employment in Las Vegas and is taking a bold step toward a brighter future for her family by relocating to begin this new chapter. Until now, the family has been living with the client’s parents in a shared household. With the support of loved ones and her own drive to improve her circumstances, she has secured a two-bedroom apartment in Las Vegas and will be moving before the end of May. However, because they’ve been staying with relatives, the family currently does not own any beds or bedding essentials. To help them make a successful transition and ensure the children have a comfortable and safe place to sleep, we are requesting support for: One bunk bed, One full-size bed, Bedding items including sheets, comforters, and pillows. This support will help alleviate some of the initial financial burden of relocating and allow the mother to focus on settling in and building stability for her children. Your assistance will provide not just furniture, but a foundation of comfort, dignity, and hope during this critical time. I am writing to seek assistance of a caregiver- a grandfather who is currently the primary guardian for his 16-year-old grandson. This responsible grandfather has stepped into a vital role, providing emotional, physical and financial support to his grandson during a critical period in the young man’s life. The grandfather is on a fixed income and faces financial strain, particularly as he also pays out-of-pocket for essential medical expenses. The grandfather is seeking assistance to obtain two sets of sofas to help furnish the home for both comfort and functionality. Providing the two sets of sofas would help the family remove the old ones and improve the quality of life.

Please help strengthen a biofamily led by the mother. The mother was a victim of severe domestic violence where she felt trapped in her own home. Mother was spied on and threatened that if she disclosed the domestic violence that she was enduring, she and the children would be killed. When mother found the opportunity to leave that situation, she had to do it promptly and without any preparation. Mother and her three children left the home with only the clothes on their back. The sudden decision was made as mother believed it was the only way to save her self and the children.

This family would really benefit from some gift cards for clothing for herself.

The family is composed of the mother, 3 children, and the father of the youngest child. The father is employed and is the main source of income for the family. The mother indicated that she sells different items online to support the family financially. The baby was born prematurely and has been in the NICU ever since. The mother reported that although the family was preparing for the child’s arrival, due to economic hardships they have not been able to afford the baby’s car seat. If an infant car seat is provided to the family, it would ensure the child’s safety travel and overall wellbeing by ensuring he can attend medical appointments.
