OKDHS is working with a young mother of two young children. The youngest has some complex medical needs and needs to be on a transplant list. This mother lost her home health services after her child started improving and that has caused him to have recurring infections and hospitalizations. This mother works, but has to work around her kids schedule and her youngest child's weekly doctor visits. This mother has been diligent to get her child to the necessary appointments to prevent the serious infections the child has been suffering. This mother has transportation that is allowing her to be medically compliant with her child's treatment but she is having issues with her car. She desperately needs new brakes. We are asking for help with getting this mother a brake job that will keep her car operational so she can get her child medical treatment. Hello! We are asking you to please help a foster home and kiddo by providing them with PediaSure. The child recently came into custody with special needs. He is seven years old with a food aversion, causing him to only eat PediaSure. The placement provider is unable to supply his meals/PediaSure. The Department currently has an open CPS investigation on this family due to mom's mental health. Mom is actively seeking mental health treatment, and both mom and dad are demonstrating adequate protective capacities. The dad had to quit his job to be home with the mom in order to care for her, and the family is struggling financially. The family's home was affected by the recent tornado and their home lost power, and all of their food went bad. When their power was restored, their refrigerator appeared to have shorted and is no longer functioning. The family has very limited groceries and has no way of keeping their food frozen/refrigerated now. There are 4 children under the age of 8 living in the home.
