2-month-old baby boy who has been in the NICU since birth, discharging home on Wednesday (12/06) with complex medical needs and significant medical equipment (feeding tube/pump; suction machine; cough assist). I work with a family at our school who is a single parent and is employeed and just barely making ends meet. Their bank account information was stollen last week and she is in crisis trying to pay her bills. Her car tag fee is one bill she cannot pay and they are expired by a few weeks and she is worried she will get in trouble. She relies on her vehicle to get her children to school and to drive to her job. The amount of the tags is $245. If anyone is able to help this family, they have a lot on their plate and this would enable the mom to prioritize other bills and expenses this holiday. Thank you for considering!

We are coming to you with an immediate need regarding a mother who is unable to pay her phone bill. This is a more immediate need because mom is currently unstable and needs to have access to her phone to reach out for mental health support if needed. She is engaged with our adult services and is slowing engaging due to severe anxiety, issues related to parenting a child who struggles with severe emotional disturbance and an abusive husband she is trying to separate she and her children from. For her safety she is in need of $110 to pay her phone bill before it is shut off. We are hoping you may have a donor interested in helping this mother. Thank you for your quick responses to the needs of those we serve. You’re blessing many lives!

This family is in need of items for their home. The mother has been able to not work due to maternity leave and needs items from her home; she has been trying to maintain the bills and the home with the little income that she has until she is able to work. She has made huge progress over the past six years despite going through tough times and has really shown significant progress with the program during my time with her. I have noticed there are things that the home needs when being there for visits with the family, along with looking over the rooms. The mother has recently moved into this apartment and really started with nothing. The home has maintained staying clean, and I would like to get Mom a few items so she does not have the financial burden of trying to come up with money while parenting three young children (including a newborn). I hope you can help me. This would greatly be appreciated by the family! See the identified needed items, which would include a high chair, beds for the kids, dressers, clothes, etc. The sizes for the family include : Girl #1- size 4/5 or S Girl #2 - 3T Boy- 0-3months, 3-6 months Diapers are size 6 The family is also in need of curtain rods and curtains for the home, if possible, since there are a lot of windows within the apartment- 84-inch curtains and adjustable curtain rods. Thank you so much for considering to help!

Help Support a Youth Aging Out

Critical Request
Good afternoon! I have an 18 yr old youth currently in the custody of the MO children's Division that I am working with to help her transition to adulthood. To that end I am requesting community assistance to help my youth pay off her current phone bill so she can get off her parents plan and get her own phone plan. For context, My youth is currently in a transitional living program and has her own apartment in Jackson County. She has a job and is working on transitioning to living independently without assistance from others. At this time, My youth has a phone but her phone plan is still on her parents. The parents themselves are homeless, and not financially dependable to pay the family plan (despite my youth paying her end each month). This has resulted in my youth losing service numerous times due to her parents being unable to pay the entire phone bill. My youth does not have internet in her apartment, and she needs reliable phone service to request stay in communication with me, request ubers, and have a lifeline in case of emergency. Currently only $400 remains to pay off her phone. Once she has this, she will be able to go to phone store with her parents and pay the remainder of her phone which will allow her to switch service providers. My youth plans to switch to mint mobile. My youth's phone is currently off so any assistance to help support this youth would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

This request is to help parents in being able to throw a birthday party for their two year old daughter at Chuck E Cheese. This is one of six children and one of four birthdays in December and January. By covering the cost for the party would alleviate some of that stress the parents experience during this time to make sure their children get to have fun on their birthdays, get presents for their birthday, while also making sure that they are able to get all the children presents for Christmas.

DCCCA is serving a hard-working single father who goes to work Monday through Friday, 8 am to 3 pm, while also attending barber college Monday through Thursday, 5 pm to 10 pm. He currently does not have his own source of transportation and has been relying on the availability of his family and friends to get him to work and class but has missed multiple days due to his support system not being available. This donation would mean so much to the family because he would be able to continue to seek his education and employment which has been what empowers him to be a successful father.

A single mother raising two children has been facing difficulties finding work because of health issues and not being able to drive. She's reaching out for help to get a new mattress and box spring for her family. However, just mattresses will work fine as well. The family's current beds are almost a decade old, falling apart, and were hand-me downs. On top of that, the mother deals with Psoriasis and Arthritis, and her pain has been worsening because her bed doesn't provide enough support. Unfortunately, the family hasn't had success getting help from local resources for beds. They urgently need a Queen-sized bed and two twin-sized beds. If they could get assistance with this, it would greatly improve their sleep, relieve the discomfort of sleeping on worn-out beds, and ease the stress the mother feels from struggling to find suitable beds for her family.

I am working with a family that lost a lot of their household items due to a bed bug infestation. There are 4 children and two adults living in a two-bedroom apartment. Currently, the children's clothing is on the floor in their closet, and it is difficult for them to locate items that they need. The children's mother has some mental health concerns that she is working to address. Therefore, updating their space and improving the conditions that her children are living in will help boost the overall morale of the home. Thank you so much for any and all help that you can provide. The family is enthusiastically open to second-hand and pre-loved items. Small laundry baskets, bookshelves, and any small storage items would also be helpful. One of the older children has asthma and has a difficult time keeping up with their siblings. Their mother thinks that a double stroller would help with this a lot. Thank you so much for supporting the community.

S is raising her three grandchildren N (F, 11), D (M, 4), and S (F, 3). S owns a small catering business to help provide for the children. Recently right before Thanksgiving her car caught fire and was destroyed. Thankfully no one was harmed but liability insurance does not cover this type of total so she is left without a vehicle. Right now S is riding the bus to make small catering order deliveries, but this is not going to work long-term. S has a neighbor who is willing to sell her a used car for $2,500, but she would also accept anything that was donated. Having a car will allow S to continue to bring money in and provide for her three grandchildren, while also being able to get them to school and all necessary appointments. With the weather about to get cold and bad, S fears that she will not be able to continue her catering business without a car because she can only take small orders on the bus due to the logistics of storing/transporting the food on and off each bus/route change.

Mom and her three boys, ages 14, 12, and 1-year-old are working with our amazing Family Preservation Program. Unfortunately, someone broke into their home and smashed a window and glass on their door. We want this family to feel safe and warm.
