Worker is requesting 3 fuel cards to help with multiple OKC area appointments during the month of December.

I have a 12 year old boy who is placed at a group home. He is in need of some new clothes that would be appropriate for the cold weather. He is in need of athletic pants and comfortable shirts. This child is Autistic and he will need clothes that he can easily take on and off. We would prefer the pants to have a drawstring. He wears a size XL in pants and shirts. Meeting this need would help him to have enough warm clothes for the cold weather. We would appreciate any and all support!

I have a disabled mom who is attempting to reunify with her twins. She needs assistance paying her rent of $1000. Part of her treatment plan is to have a safe and stable home. This would help her immensely.
I am working with a youth who has intellectual disabilities. When she gets upset, she has been struggling to calm down. Her therapist thinks it would be helpful to set up a calming corner with comforting and sensory dampening items that will help her calm down and start to teach her the skills she needs to be able to self-regulate her emotions. The therapist feels that a 20 LB weighted blanket and some noise reduction earplugs would be very helpful for this space. The noise reducing ear plugs would also be used when this youth is out in the community learning skills like grocery shopping, so she would need to be able to hear someone talking to her when wearing them.

OKDHS is working a prevention case with a family with two small children. The parents are engaging with services and are making great progress in a very short time. However, transportation is a huge barrier for this family. The mother just got a job and needs a way to get to and from work. The father needs a way to get to his services. We are asking for a 31 day bus pass to help the parents overcome this transportation barrier. Thank you for your generosity!

Please help this single mom of two with a car assessment. Mom needs her car to get to and from services, and to ensure she isn't walking outside in the cold with her newborn. Mom drives a 2006 PT Cruiser. She isn't exactly sure what is needed, but believes the front left tire needs to be replaced and possibly the ball joints. Thank you. Blessings!

This request would help a family of 6. The children have been in the same non-paid kinship home for some time now. The families AC/Heating unit isn't working properly and they have been told they would have to purchase a new unit at any moment costing around $8,000. I understand this is a big request, if there are any companies who could offer a second opinion to ensure the family doesn't have another option. As the weather changes and it gets colder this is a concern for the family. The family has continued to love, care for, and provide for the children despite the different obstacles they have been faced with. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a family of five on my caseload that recently moved into their own rental home. The parents have been working very hard to be able to provide their three children with a space of their own. The family is needing a couple common household things, such as a washer and dryer, bed frames and mattresses. The family was previously staying with other family members, so they did not have furniture or appliances of their own to take with them. The family would be appreciative and grateful for any help they can get. The parents are both working full time jobs while also attending all of their required services.

Hello! I have a mother that wants to start working on her treatment plan and to work towards reunification. She has experienced some hardships with transportation. She does not have a car, and having a bus pass would allow her to be more successful in her services. It will help strengthen them as a family in their journey of rebuilding their lives together to attend services and see her child more. Thank you.

Bio mother is living in a camper trailer while she waits for housing to become available. The bio mom is close to starting reunification with her children. However, her water heater has broken and is unrepairable. An electric water heater would allow her to better manage her electricity usage and it would be hot water on demand rather than a tank which could potentially leak again. She is disabled and unable to work more than a few hours a day. She has a pending disability claim with social security but that is not a fast process. CWS Hutchins has found a unit on Ace Hardware website EcoSmart 2.6gallon 1440 watt electric water heater for 189.99.

There is a wonderful mom who needs some assistance right now. She was in a car wreck and is need of an Uber gift card until the car is repaired. She is in minimal pain and continues to engage in services. She relies on family, friends, the bus, or Uber for transportation. If this need is met, this mom will be able to travel safely around Tulsa and engage in her services. Thank you for partnering with Oklahoma's families!

Mom lives in Texas and has made great strides to get back on track and has done so. She is currently taking care of her other child safely and financially and has paid off all her debt to get back to Oklahoma. The child recently lost his only other family member (grandmother) in which the child had a strong bond a couple of months ago from organ failure. Mom has secured the money for the Uhual; paid off all outstanding debts and has the funds for the 1st months’ rent on the new apartment in Tulsa; but is just short of the deposit. The kiddo has been placed in a new foster home and bio mom has attended and participated in all services with OKDHS, including making a complete lifestyle change to do so. We have a mother having major hardships at the moment. Her vehicle has broken down and this is making it nearly impossible to get to work and is hindering visiting with her children. Uber and Lyft is costing her a fortune and it's hard for her to keep up with everything. This mother is living pay-check to pay-check and isn't getting easier for her. This has caused her to miss family time with her children, which isn't like her. She has reached out to us pleading for whatever help she can get. A mechanic has told her that it will cost upwards $800 to fix her vehicle. With paying rent and everyday necessities she has been unable to reach that amount. The mechanic says the engine has completely gone out. She does have another vehicle the same model as the one she has now that is down due to a wreck she had. The engine in that one is fine and the mechanic advised her that that engine could be put in her current vehicle but $800 is the best price she has been given. This mother only seeks help, it doesn't have to be cash, just possibly someone that help get her vehicle up and going again. So if anyone fixes vehicles or knows someone that does she would appreciate that greatly. She is devastated that she has had to miss seeing her children when she is unable to afford or get a ride to family time. Any help from the community would benefit her in so many ways.

I have a family of 2 adults, and 5 children ages 9, 12, 13, 15, and 17. The younger 3 children report never having beds to sleep on. They report sleeping on air mattresses up until this last week when they popped, to where they are sleeping on tile floors with a blanket. The family needs assistance with beds, mattresses, sheets and pillows. Assisting this family getting mattresses will help these children get a good nights rest to thrive in academics, sports and day to day life. Christmas is coming up and would make their Holiday season special!

A single mom who was reunited with her children, is needing some assistance with rent during the holidays. She is the sole provider for her family with children that have medical needs, ages 2 (boy) and age 4 (female). Mom has been trying to pay her rent as she gets paid but lost an income from separating from her children's father who is not providing financial support to their children. Any assistance towards her rent this holiday season would be greatly appreciated. If more information is needed please contact Case Worker.

A family of 3 is in need of help. The family is currently working services while their 2 year old is staying with friends. The family is struggling to not only be able to see their child, but also to make it to appointments and to work as their car is unreliable and they do not have the funds to fix it. Mom is pregnant and is working to help support her and her children while Dad is also looking for a job. Bus passes for these parents would not only help them make it to the appointments for their pregnancy, but also to work so they can continue receiving care and services and so they can see their kiddo while they work on getting her back home. Please help this family get back on their feet and support them in their time of need.
