A loving and dedicated grandmother is doing her best to care for her 10-year-old granddaughter and 7-year-old grandson. Despite the financial challenges she faces, her love for them is unwavering. She is seeking support to provide the children with the school supplies they need, such as notebook paper, pencils, pens, crayons, markers, erasers, posters, glue, and tape—so they can start the school year with confidence. This small act of kindness would help relieve some of the financial pressure on this grandmother and ensure the children have the essentials they deserve. Additionally, the children would greatly benefit from clothing support, whether through gift cards or access to free clothing, to help them feel ready for the school year ahead.

With tick season quickly approaching, she’s deeply concerned about the health and safety of her grandchildren. Tall grass not only invites insects but also increases the risk of tick-borne illnesses like Lyme disease.

Due to a cervical spine injury sustained while working in 2025, her mobility has become limited, and she's now living on a fixed income. Unfortunately, she’s unable to afford regular lawn care and cannot safely manage the yard herself.

She would be incredibly grateful for a working lawnmower—new or gently used—so she can keep her yard maintained and her grandchildren safe. Any support would make a meaningful difference in their lives.

A devoted grandmother is the primary caregiver to her beloved 10-year-old granddaughter and 7-year-old grandson. Every day, she does her best to provide a stable, loving home for them, despite the many challenges she faces. Right now, she is in urgent need of a gas stove. Her current stove no longer works, making it difficult to prepare the healthy, home-cooked meals her grandchildren depend on. Living on a fixed income, she recently had to spend her limited savings on car repairs so she could continue getting to vital doctor appointments. She is currently on workers' compensation due to a cervical spine injury she suffered on the job in early 2025. The injury has greatly limited her mobility, adding to the physical and emotional toll of her situation. Despite these hardships, she remains strong and full of love for her grandchildren. A new or gently used gas stove would make a world of difference in her ability to care for them. Any support would mean so much to this family and would help bring comfort and stability back to their kitchen — and their lives.

Our Care Coordinator presented this request after meeting with her client. She stated that this single mom of 4 is need of a crib for her baby girl who is 2 months old. She is not working currently, but is trying to find a job and maintain. Her daughter is growing out of basinett and stated that this was a major need for her. (Crib and matress)

• A loving grandmother and granddaughter are in need of support with clothing while they are looking for a new place to stay. As the seasons change and the teenage granddaughter has grown it has proven to be a challenge to make sure the clothes continue to fit appropriately. This family would be so grateful for any support with this while they navigate the next steps on a new place to live this would take a big burden off their shoulders. Some of their favorite places to shop are Walmart, target, Tj Maxx and Marshals gift cards to any of these stores would be more than appreciated.

Father of 2 young boys ages 5 and 4. Mom has been incarcerated and will be released from halfway house in June. Agency became involved due to dirty home, and dad tested positive for Meth. Dad has begun intensive outpatient treatment and is doing very well. He has had all negative drug screens and participates in group and individual counseling. This is an in-home safety plan with a caregiver. Dad is in the home. Dad and caregiver are working very hard on getting the home clean. Agency provided beds for both boys. They have a stove but only one burner works and the oven only broils-it does not bake. A working stove would be very helpful for cooking for the family. This does not have to be a brand new stove. A used stove in good condition would be fine.

Mom who was using substances has been working to maintain sobriety. She went into inpatient treatment and completed programming there. She has now returned to Springfield. She began by living with a cousin. She had her youngest child with her (2-year-old son). Since returning she is doing intensive outpatient treatment. She obtained employment at the hospital, and is working toward self-sufficiency. Her ex-husband had their 3 daughters but she is now able to have them home with her. She had to pay a deposit and 1st month's rent. She needs an electric stove, refrigerator, and sofa. They do not have to be new, she is fine with used. She has borrowed a tiny fridge and has a crock pot and 2 burner cook top. A stove, fridge, and sofa would be very helpful for her to begin her new life with her children. AGAIN- These can be used appliances and sofa. Thank you!

Single mother is asking for assistance in paying student school fees before 5/22/25 so their child will be able to attend 8th grade promotion. If fees are not paid, the student will not be able to attend the ceremony to acknowledge all of their hard work and accomplishments.

I am working with a grandmother who has legal custody of her grandson who is 11 years old. The grandmother works full time and can generally meet the family's basic needs. However, she had an unexpected expense pop up which caused her to get behind on her rent. The grandmother needs help getting back on her feet. I am working with a set of grandparents who have legal custody of their grandson who is 8 years old. They need financial assistance for summer day camp. The grandfather and grandmother both works outside of the home and can generally meet the family's basic needs. However, they need someone to watch their grandson while he is out of school this summer. The grandson goes to a private school and the school is offering summer day camp. The grandparents want the grandson to participate at this particular day camp to keep the consistency since he already knows the staff and other children. The grandson has been diagnosed on the Autism Spectrum and change is hard for him. The grandparents looked into other financial resources, but they were denied because they were slightly over-income. Please consider helping this family with this need. Thank you!

Living on a fixed income, she is facing significant financial hardship. In this moment of need, she urgently requires essential cleaning supplies, including washing detergent, hand soap, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, deodorant for both boys and girls, trash bags, disinfectant spray, Lysol wipes, paper towels, and toilet paper.

Though this transition has not been easy, she is doing everything she can to adjust, always putting her grandchildren’s needs first and working hard to create a sense of normalcy and love. Any support at this time would mean more than words can express—it would ensure the children can stay with their grandmother in a loving kinship placement, keeping them connected to family and surrounded by care. It would also give her the time she needs to stabilize and receive the benefits that will allow her to continue providing for them in the future.

The student's dressers fell apart and she does not have anywhere to put her clothes. The student is in need of 1-2 dressers. She is also in need of a new bed and bedframe; however, the priority is the dressers.
