Mother of two special needs boys is in desperate need of assistance with diapers for them. The boys get diapers through a prescription from medical suppliers however there shipment has been interrupted and will not be here before the diapers run out! Mother doesn’t have the finances to be able to cover the unexpected cost of diapers.
We have a high school male student needing some new clothes and extra food for the weekends. This student is new and their family recently moved to our district. There is also school fees ($65) they need help paying. His mom had struggled with finding a job for awhile, but recently started a new job in McPherson at the beginning of December. As they get back on their feet, it would be helpful to have gas cards as well so she can maintain her job and get to any appointments. The mom now works nights and evenings, so it would also be helpful to have snacks and easy to make food for the kids at home. Any assistance would be helpful for this family.

Clothes for a Child / Children (see description details)
A family is need of a new bed for one of the children. Mother ended up having to throw out one of the children's and has not been able to buy another one. Mother has been on their small couch in the living room so that he is able to sleep in her bed.
Thank you!
Many generous community members donate gifts for the youth in care each year. The majority of gifts are pre-packaged, but we frequently find ourselves repackaging them due to inadequate distribution among siblings within the same family or a youth not having a gift. We often encounter situations where children come into care after gift lists have already been submitted and each year we have several presents that need to be wrapped for the kids in our custody. Having gift wrap and supplies on hand would be a great help to make sure youth receive a gift in a timely manner. Thank you for your help.
During this time of year, youth come into care and may bounce from home to home due to the holidays and a foster homes availability. The staff would like to offer the youth at least a stocking of some sort, would show them that they are loved and that people do care for them. To help fill the stockings we are asking for some of the following items: some snacks, playing cards, small little items that could maybe fill a stocking. Thank you for your consideration for our youth!
Yvonne:
I have a church member that is able to donate 6 filled stockings toward this need. I will be able to drop them to the Newton office later this week.
Recently single mother of 6 is in desperate need of assistance paying her past due rent. Mom recently had twin babies who have struggled with health concerns since pregnancy and this has kept her from being able to work a second job to make ends meet. The twins health has improved and mom has been able to secure a second job that started Monday, but the bills have piled up. Currently the family's gas is off therefore the family is without heat in the home, but the major over looming debt on her shoulders is the rent. Mother has a single family home that is large enough for the whole family but is currently $1800 behind. Landlord has given mom until November to get this paid or they will end up evicting the family. Mom knows she will not be able to find another home in her budget and is reaching out for any kind of assistance to retain her family's home. Mother and worker have done a budget and the family will have enough resources to pay for the $715/month rent and utilities with both of mother's jobs, she just needs assistance to get out of the debt she got herself into when she wasn't working enough due to her children's health. Mother is reaching out to all local agencies for assistance as well. Any donations will be made directly to the landlord.

This family is working really hard to get their home cleaned up, and basically it's like starting over, they are in need of a electric stove, they currently have gas, they prefer electric and feels it is safer, the one they have does not work at all.
they are also needing, a refrigerator, they are in an older home, smaller kitchen. mom thinks the new one they have now is 20.5 cu ft.
she has a special needs boy, keeps her on her toes.
mom has been expanding her education and continues, to reach for her goals.
she is in a new relationship, and this man is moving in with his daughter.
he is employed, they are putting alot of money into the house, and have come up short, with these two items.
4 years ago did a kinship placement for a child with diagnosis and medical concerns with maternal aunt and uncle. It has turned out to be a more permanent placement for them. As the child gets older, more behaviors from his past trauma and already existing conditions increase. The only safe place for this child is where he is now. The family is needing some help during some hardship times. The aunt is unable to work as her focus is solely on the child. The child has weekly appointments as well as attending school. Child is growing fast, he is needing clothes as well as food for his special diet needs due to his condition. Aunt is also struggling with keeping up with gas needs and have had to cancel a few appts due to lack of financial means to get gas to get to the appointments that are outside of town. Aunt did not have size but child benefits from picking out his stuff.

First Baptist Church in Newton has a storage room of clothes and a food pantry I'd be happy to have Mom come go through and see what they can find to be helpful to them.
