Critical Request
I have a family who is currently in an emergency housing situation. The family consists of a single mom with three children. The student is in 8th grade on my campus, but he also has a brother in 12th grade, and a brother that is too young for school. The family was just evicted from their housing situation, and they are staying at a hotel with no mode of transportation or funds. The family is in need of 200.00 dollars to be able to stay in a two bedroom hotel room for the week while they figure out a more permanent option. As of right now, both students are unable to attend school and all four family members are sharing one hotel room. The family's need is very urgent. Any assistance that can be offered is greatly appreciated.

The kinship caregivers are requesting a convertible car seat for the youngest female child that CPS has placed in their care. This 22-month-old is growing quickly and will soon outgrow her current car seat. The ideal car seat would hold a child with the weight of up to 90/100 lbs. The family stated they were also looking for a highchair and/or toddler seat that would fit onto a kitchen chair. This will allow the family to properly feed the child without holding her while they are attempting to eat. The family has been very diligent in meeting the children's needs and are only lacking these two items. At this time the family does not qualify for kinship funds so these items would be very much appreciated if they are able to be supplied.

Our fully accredited high school is in need of insulated water bottles for students. This will free up financial resources to meet true student needs rather than having to purchase drinking cups and throw them away. Each student could have their own water bottle. We provide full wrap around case management for our students, many of which face homelessness and have poor to no relationships with caring adults.

Our fully accredited high school provides full wrap around case management services for our 27 students, many of which face homelessness and lack of positive adult relationships. As part of our school, lunches are provided and we have a need for 24 oz insulated water bottles so that each student can have their own. This would allow us to put money spent on drinking cups to true student needs.

A 17-year-old boy who lives with his elderly maternal grandmother needs to obtain his driver's license. He is a very responsible teenager who goes to school regularly, has a job, is involved in multiple sports, and uses his extra time to spend it with his family. He not only needs his driver's license so that he step into adulthood properly, but he also wants to be able to visit his parents who don't live close, be able to go to school/games/work without delay waiting on other people, and be able to get his sister to and from school and other services she needs because she also lives with her paternal grandmother and she works hours that sometimes interfere with getting her to and from school. Jeanette: Does he need someone to teach him to drive or is he just asking for the self taught course? I know that includes working with someone to sign off on the work and the to drive with him for the practical work.

Summary: Family of middle school student requesting help with groceries and utility bills. Context: Student comes from a single-parent household, where Mom is a dedicated educator struggling to make ends meet. In the past, the family has struggled with stable housing, but through their hard work and determination, they have improved their situation significantly. However, the start of school has put a strain on their resources, and they are needing help with groceries and their electricity bill. If this need was met even partially, it would help both the student and Mom maintain the stability and wellbeing they have worked so hard to achieve.

There is a single mother with with twins who have recently got her children returned to her. The case is currently on a monitor to return and we are hoping to avoid removing the children again. The mother is months behind on rent and could possibly be evicted soon if she does not make payment. The mother does not have any financial assistance from her family and is trying to do everything on her own. Financial assistance with her rent can help prevent a removal of the children and them coming back into foster care.

Help Make a Kinship Placement

A kinship family needs help with daycare costs incurred while caring for a family member's 1 year old baby while the parent was not a safe option for the child. The family stepped up for the child when no other family member was able to. The kinship family is on a fixed income as one of them is disabled. Therefore, the child needed daycare in order for the placement to work. Unfortunately, CCMS had some issues processing the daycare and the family had to pay out of pocket for a month and is unable to afford the large bill. Any amount will help. The amount can be paid directly to the daycare to help lower the bill for the family. If the bill is not paid, the child may be dropped from the daycare which could disrupt the placement. The kinship family intends to adopt the child as soon as legally able.

there is a large family who have almost no furniture in the home. they have a pile of dirty clothes because they have no washer or dryer. the family has a low income and needs help. Updated on August 30, 2023 by an Agency Worker
Some of the items in the request have been fulfilled (all of the car and booster seats) by the CAC. The family only needs beds, mattresses, bed sheets, and a washer/dryer now. They need the washer/dryer most of all. Those are items that the CAC cannot really obtain. There are 6 kids in the home- 8 yo girl 6 yo boy (with autism) 5 yo girl 3 yo boy 2 yo boy And a 1 yo girl This family would greatly benefit from a washer/dryer and would actually eliminate many of the concerns CPS has been receiving about the family
