A student is enrolled in a dual credit course at our high school. A student found out yesterday that since their family can not pay the dual credit fee they will be dropped from this class unable to earn college credit. Dad already works two jobs to support the family and won't have money to pay this fee tomorrow. The student is incredibly bright and is passing this course with flying colors and wants to be able to earn this college credit.

DCCCA is working with a mother who has been homeless and living in a hotel for seven months. The family has been able to obtain housing and will be ready to move in this weekend. The last obstacle is paying off past due utilities so mom can connect electricity at the new home. Two of the children have been living with family and friends because there was not enough space at the hotel. Having this cost covered not only gets mom out of the hotel room, it will put the family back together under one roof. Mom has contributed what she can to the bill and has obtained assistance from community resources and this amount is what remains after other resources have been tapped out. Thank you in advance for helping this family get into a home and be reunited!
A foster parent needs assistance with a playpen with a Bassett attached, Twin size bed with rails, and a car seat (Grow with me from infant to toddler). This family is new to fostering a child and needs help to make the life of the child comfortable .
I am working with a student who is homeless and living in transitional housing. He would like to attend prom but needs assistance affording a tuxedo rental. I am asking for your help to provide him with a gift certificate to Tip Top Tux at Zona Rosa for his tux rental.

We know this ask might be a lot, but got approval to share this incredible need. We are looking for volunteers who would be willing to get their background check ran and complete paperwork, and be good company at for F. at the hospital in KC. 1 Ideally, we would want one or two consistent volunteers. Right now we have staff helping on Fridays from 8am to 5pm. The staff have helped feed her, but other than that they are just there to keep an eye on F and be her company. This individual would be background checked prior. We would give the hospital staff their names, so they are on the approval list. We would give them details on the room number and if there's any updates on F. Background - F. (age 16) was recently diagnosed with MDS (Myelodysplastic Syndrome). She is currently in the hospital waiting for a bone marrow transplant. F is also getting chemo treatments, if MDS goes untreated it could turn into Leukemia. She is non-speaking, needs help feeding herself, and a lot of care. Her foster family is amazing (located in Riley County) and has made dozens of trips back and forth to Kansas City to be with her. Potential volunteers please contact us through CarePortal, and we welcome any and all prayers for F., her medical team, foster family and everyone dedicated to caring for her.
F. (age 16) and was recently diagnosed with MDS (Myelodysplastic Syndrome). They have missed multiple days of work and will continue to miss work after the transplant takes place. The foster family and F are really needing some support from the community both during the hospital stay and after. Once F gets her transplant she will remain in the hospital for up to 6 weeks and then transition to the Ronald McDonald house for another 6 weeks. We are looking for any support and welcome ideas to help this family. Currently we are asking for help for a cleaning service (for Riley Co), as the family hasn't had time or energy to maintain their home and be in KC. If anyone wants to drop off groceries, do a meal train or provide gift cards (Walmart/Dillon's) so they can purchase groceries in KC (and cook at the Ronald McDonald house) these would all be incredible ways to show this family support. Gift cards for food around the hospital would help too - Panera Bread, Subway, Chipotle etc. Anything would be a tremendous blessing to this family.
Child has chronic head lice. Mother has tried multiple different types of shampoo and treatment but continues to struggle with managing the child’s head lice. Mother is struggling financially to pay for the ongoing treatment for lice.
Family is in need of any form of payment to assist the family in purchasing ongoing treatment for lice.
The family consists of 2 children with elevated developmental needs. The parents work full-time but with the children's elevated needs, they continue to struggle to make ends meet. A low-income family is in need of a temporary dumpster as they are cleaning and making small renovations to their home. A dumpster would only be needed for a few days. Such efforts will assist the family to improve the condition of their home to be appropriate for returning the children home. Parents are very respectful and motivated to have their children reintegrate, they will likely be flexible to coordinate this assistance.
A NRKIN foster home recently took placement of a sibling set of two children, female age 3 and male age 2. The family could use some more clothes and shoes for the children as well as an additional car seat. The shoe sizes for the children are 7-8 for the boy and size 8 for the girl. Any help with clothes, shoes and/or car seat for this family would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
DCCCA has been working with a family and is getting ready to pass services on to another provider who will work with reunifying children and parents. As a step in that process, the family needs to order birth certificates for two of the children in order to obtain housing. DCCCA would like to help the parents secure the certificates and begin working on obtaining stable housing before their case closes in the next few weeks. If you are able to assist in covering this cost to help these parents as they take steps to be able to have their children back to their home, it would be very much appreciated. Thank you!

Children were put into state custody because of the condition of the home. Mom does not have adequate plumbing and there are boxes, clothes, trash piled in most rooms of the home. One of the children painted black handprints all over their bedroom wall. Mom needs help cleaning the house, acquiring cleaning supplies like buckets, vacuums, sprays, etc. The biggest help to mom would be a team of people to help her clean out the house. She was previously working with Cornerstones to do this but they won't help her now that the children are in custody. One of the kiddos expressed to me that they were always so stressed worrying about mom and sibling and always having to clean up after them. Mom's mental health continues to decrease as she feels demoralized and hopeless and at fault for her home.
Youth recently turned 18 and is filing is taxes. Due to having 1099 income, his taxes will cost $110 to file. We would request assistance with paying this so that he can file his taxes.

Half of this repair has been taken care of already. Unfortunately this father is not able to pick up his car without the other half of the payment and he is having a difficult time coming up with the rest. This father uses this car to pick up his daughter from school for visits, since the car has been in the shop for weeks he has missed out on precious time with his daughter which slows the process of reunification. With this weight lifted this father will be able to focus on his daughter and then bring her back home sooner.
Placement (aunt) took in her nieces this last week and are converting their office into the girls bedroom. Currently all bio-kids are sleeping in the parents room so that the girls can sleep in a bed. DCF requires the girls to have their own beds by a certain amount of time so that placement can keep the girls. This would be a huge help as the girls did not come with any of their own bedding or clothes so aunt is buying them all new things and "foster" proofing their house to meet regulation requirements.
John:
I need full contact and delivery information of the adult(s) and names and ages of the children. This is needed to place the order. Then I will contact the adult to arrange delivery and setup.
Q, a 2-year-old female, and M, a 4-month-old female are in a foster placement with a foster mom who works full-time and also has her mother with them. The foster mom could use a little bit of help finding some 2T Slim pajamas for little Q. She is very slim and they are having a hard time finding something that will stay up around her waist so a few one-piece pajamas would be wonderful. She will also start potty training soon so several pairs of new 2T panties with good elastic would be awesome as well. Baby M could use a few items also. Thank you for helping us make it a tad bit easier for our wonderful foster parents that are helping the many foster children. Gently used items would be such a blessing. You make such a difference and we appreciate you so much!
