This family is needing assistance with half of their rent. Their 21 year-old son was recently killed in an accident and their 19-year-old daughter who is pregnant is being induced due to the stress of losing her brother. Her younger son is currently permanently disabled. Mother has been unable to work as she has been making arrangements for her son's burial and her the birth of her daughter's child. Mother was unable to cover the entire month's rent because she paid for the burial of her son. There are three other younger children in the home. For as long as I have worked with this family, they have encountered financial hardship and have been having a really hard time getting back on their feet. It seems as though something else always comes up that poses them a new financial challenge. Oftentimes, the family's close bonds with their neighbors are able to provide a support network for them, but this year, after a very cold and persistent midwest winter, the family has been hit with a large electricity bill that they are having a hard time paying. Mom has tried to set up payments with the company but they have denied her request. Plainly, she does not have the resources available to her to pay this bill in full without serious financial consequences for her and her two children, who she works fiercely to support. I am hoping we can find help in paying off this bill for a family of three impacted by the chronic stress of trying to make ends meet as It is possible they could lose access to utilities. They are looking for a total of $544.16 to cover an Evergy bill.

This is a single parent home. Mom is currently unemployed and family is making ends meet off of social security disability benefits. Family is functioning within poverty. One of the children in the home has a high level of medical needs with some medical equipment that requires electricity to function (suctioning and feeding pump). A child has had lice for about two months now. She has missed 12 days of school and is now missing end of year testing. Her guardian has not been able to contain the lice with over-the-counter products, and she is in need of professional treatment. I have located a salon in the area that is able to provide services at a discounted rate so that she does not miss any more school. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I have a mother that has had to miss work for the past two weeks due to a sick child at home. As a result she has fallen behind financially with paying her rent.

I am working with a young lady who is aging out of foster care soon. This young person receives supplemental security income and that goes to simply pay her rent and utilities at her residence. She is struggling right now with needing resources to purchase hygiene items, food, and even just have money for a simple hair cut. She has furniture and kitchen items but she strongly desires to be independent and fit in with others her age. She would like to be able to go out in the community to do things with peers her age but cannot due to lack of funds to pay for simple activities such as movies, bowling or even just dinner.

Family with 7 children had to move out of their home within 48 hours as the building was condemned. They spent multiple months looking for housing and have finally found a place to live. They are in need of living room furniture.

This baby came into care about 2 months ago, the mother abuses illicit substances, including while pregnant, such that it impairs her ability to parent. On or about January 21, 2025 at the time of the Childs birth - the child tested positive for cocaine, methadone and benzodiazepines through urinalysis. The child subsequently needed to be placed in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) on a respiratory machine due to experiencing severe withdrawal symptoms. This child had nothing and will need clothing and other things. We are requesting a $ 150.00 in gifts cards so the placement can go get what the baby needs to be in there home.

Older youth is moving into his first apartment on 5/15 and is set to age out of care on 6/19. Agency is working on gathering furniture and resources he will need to support him in his new apartment and set him up for success before he ages out of care. Area programs for beds have a waitlist. Youth is in need of a bedframe and mattress.

A single mother with 5 children struggle has mental health issues and is unable to work. The single mother is needing assistance paying for her security deposit to move into her new home.

Kinship placement has been unable to pay their past due water bill in order to insure continuation of service. Needs help towards this bill.
