I am working with a biological mother of five children. Mom is compliant with services and recognizes she needs help achieving sobriety. Mom has agreed to go to medical detox followed by inpatient care. Mom has identified past due rent as a barrier that would postpone or potentially prevent her from going to detox and inpatient care. Mom's monthly rent is just below $200 a month and she is behind by three months. Mom is currently looking for employment in order to pay the past due balance but could prioritize her sobriety and postpone job seeking if there was no past due balance.

A sweet family took placement of a child in March, and they are not receiving any financial assistance from OKDHS at this time. Throughout the placement, the family has managed their finances well. After paying their monthly expenses at their original location this month, they were informed their landlord sold the property and requested the family to move immediately; after making all required bill payments and rent at the location. The family has located a new residence. They were able to make the initial deposit and take care of moving expenses. However, they are now short of $300 for rent for the new residence.
They have reached out to community resources and have been unsuccessful with obtaining assistance. As a last resort the family has reached out to OKDHS for assistance to help cover the remaining $300. Any assistance would be much appreciated. Without having the added expenses for the future months to come, the family will be back on track in managing their bills. The family and I thank you for any assistance you can provide.

We are celebrating Foster Care Awareness / Appreciation month by hosting a FREE POOL PARTY at River Country Water Parks in Muskogee Oklahoma. We will be inviting current foster and adoptive families from 10+ counties surrounding the Muskogee area to attend. In addition to the pool party, we will be offering information to families of local resources and churches that they can connect with as well as dates for summer activities for VBS and children / youth camps that churches are participating in and inviting children to come to.

The party will be Saturday, May 31st from 6:30-8:30pm with capacity being roughly 700-800 individuals. We will have an RSVP process for the families. We are asking for our networking churches to contribute to the cost of renting the water facility out - $1,200. Any amount helps! Grandmother is the foster parent of her granddaughter which is currently is DHS custody. Grandmother has been trying very hard to make ends meet being that she is living off SSI. Grandmother is asking for help to transport her granddaughter back and forth to school. Grandmother is also very low on groceries and is seeking anything that can help her prepare full course meals for her granddaughter. Grandmother has not received any help financially and has reached out for help. Please contact me if you are willing to help a grandmother in need.

Bio-parents are requesting help with getting a bus pass to continue to work to support themselves and to get back and forth to their family worker visits. We have a mother and daughter who have been brought back together. We have observed the mother and child to have a great bond. The mother just moved into a new apartment and will be starting a new job in the next couple of weeks. The mother has overcame many obstacle's in her life, and during our interaction with the mother we have observed an amazing turn around in her life. She is needing assistance with her rent and only has a short window of time to do so. If this barrier can eliminated it will help the mother save for incoming bills. We would like to add that this is a one time ask, because the mother believes she will be able to meet all of the needs in the home once she starts working full time. Thank you for considering this need.

This request is for a family that is moving back into their home together. They are in need of a microwave for cooking, plastic shelving for food and plastic drawers for clothing and storage and a play yard/play pen for the kids to play in and stay safe inside the home in a gated off area. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Bio mom need help with transportation to get to and from appointments.

Hello! We are looking for a little help for a father that has successfully reunified with his children. This dad has really gone above and beyond to ensure his children were returned, and issues were corrected. There were some issues at reunification that actually resulted in the kids being returned about 3 weeks ahead of schedule. Dad needs a little help meeting the financial needs a little early. We are asking for a lawn mower any in working order will help! His yard is not large so a push mower is much appreciated. Shortly after the children were returned his clothes dryer bit the dust. We are asking for an electric clothes dryer in working condition if possible. Any help is appreciated!

This kinship family would like to send the two teenagers in the home to church camp this summer. This camp offers a week long camp near the family's home where the teenagers could go for some encouragement and fun. The children have been through a lot this year and have recently started to act out. The foster parents feel it would be beneficial for the teens to be around their peers in a Christian environment.

I have a dad whose children have recently come into custody. He is needing an out of state birth certificate. We are requesting the funds to order the birth certificate so that he can obtain ID which he does not currently have. Without id, he cannot get a job or access services.

Please help a recently single mother who has fled from an unsafe situation. The mother has four littles all under the age of 6. The mother has taken the steps to keep her children safe by filing for divorce and relocating. The mother was displaced, and she is now attempting to rebuild her life. The mother has found a safe place for her and her children, but she is unable to come up with utility deposit. The mother does not have much support, and we would like to help her come up with the money that is required for her new home. Thank you.
