A single parent mother of two is needing assistance with the getting her vehicle repaired. The total estimated cost to repair the vehicle is $1600. However, the mother is asking for any assistance that can be given in the amount of $800 as she has already raised half the amount. Your assistance will greatly help this mother avoid losing her vehicle. Your assistance is very helpful and much appreciated in getting this family back on their feet.

As she is so excited to have her back home, it also comes with a lot of preparation. Her daughter has already outgrown many of the clothes she has bought for her. OKDHS is working a prevention case with a family with 3 young children and an older child. The older child had been having issues of running off to friends houses and not communicating with the mother. With services in the home, the child is doing much better and is communicating well with the mother. However, as part of this mothers household bedtime routine, she does not allow screen time in the evening. This has frustrated the older child who has nothing to do before he goes to sleep. This child reported that he enjoys reading but does not have any books due to the family's financial situation. He stated that he greatly enjoys the "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" series. OKDHS is asking for help with providing this child several more of his favorite books to help occupy his mind this summer as he has free time after summer school. A child was recently placed with her family from out of state through interstate compact for the placement of children (ICPC). This child ran out of her medication and has been without for nearly a week. The foster family has gotten the prescription filled but Soonercare will not fill the prescription because it was written by a doctor out of state. The foster parents took the child to Urgent Care to get a new prescription, but they cannot write a prescription for a psychiatric medication. The foster family has an appointment to have the child seen and get the prescription filled, but in the meantime, they need to fill it out of pocket. They are not receiving payment for this child at this time.

I am working with a kinship placement of a six year old. Foster mom would love to get him involved in the summer program offered by the Salvation Army this year but cannot afford the weekly payments ($85). This summer program is full time and offers a reading program, field trips, art and crafts, swimming, nature exploration, and more. Foster mom is requesting financial assistance with the weekly payment so her nephew can fully enjoy the summer!

I am working with a biological family of two. Mom and her two year old son are currently in trial reunification. Mom is in a vulnerable place right now but is working hard to establish her independence. She has begun working with a staffing company for employment and is actively seeking income based apartments or sober living for herself and her son. Perhaps the biggest barrier Mom has to achieving her independence is transportation, because she does not have a personal vehicle and cannot afford car payments. Lack of a personal vehicle greatly minimizes job opportunities and housing options that Mom is able to apply to and/or accept. Mom will not be able to afford a car payment and is not particular about the vehicle she drives, so if there is a vehicle out there that has been donated, Mom would be MOST grateful (and blessed!) to be the recipient of that vehicle. This family consist of a multi-generational family living together. The mother who is participating in our home-based SafeCare parenting program has one three month old baby, her first child! She is participating in our program to learn more skills about how to take care of him in a safe environment. Mom has been doing an amazing job so far and is looking forward to continuing to learn about her child's development. Since she has had the baby, she has not been able to work yet and is getting very tight on money. All of the adults are contributing to the house financially, but with mom not currently working, it has put a strain on bills and other responsibilities. The baby has a sensitivity allergy, and requires specific diapers and formula so that he does not have a negative reaction. With this formula and diapers being more expensive, it has been hard for the family to provide what he needs. They are starting to get low on these supplies, and would appreciate ANY kind of help towards the formula and diapers that the baby needs. The specific formula that the baby uses can be either Similac Advance (blue can), Similac 360 Total Care (orange and gold can) - preferred choice, and bum bum brand diapers (size 5 or up). Any amount of formula or diapers is appreciated. Thank you so much!

Foster parents of seven (two full sibling sets of five and two, ages 2 to 14) are going through a lot more groceries this summer as the children are home and the two oldest are rapidly growing and active teenage boys and the youngest ones are voracious eaters. It would be a huge support to have some extra groceries for these busy kids this summer. Any help would be appreciated.

Please help this single dad of 3 children with a gas card. He is currently working his services to start trial reunification with his children. He does struggle financially due to being on a fixed income. He is needed a gas card to be able to take his daughter to and from therapy. Anything helps. Thank you!

I am working with a kinship placement with a grandmother caring for a four year old and a one year old. Grandma is having issues getting food stamps started and qualifying for TANF. The baby has also been been advised to start regular food and has lost WIC benefits. Grandma is requesting immediate assistance with groceries and baby formula.
