This single mother is raising her seven-year-old son with little support. The father is not in the picture and mom's family live a couple hours away. While mom works full time to provide for her son, she is low income and has little furniture. It's even harder for her to buy furniture because she has little time outside of work and childcare. She is asking for help getting some furniture and basic amenities for their home. Specifically, she is requesting a twin-sized bed with sheets and a pillow for the little boy; a couch; a living chair; a coffee table; a kitchen table with dining chairs; and some pots and pans. Her son could also use some new clothes: he wears size 6-7in pants and shirts and size 12 shoes/sneakers. He would love it if they could be in his favorite color, blue. These items would help give this little boy a safe and comfortable living environment. While this is a large request, they would deeply appreciate any help you could give.

This is a family of nine: a single mom and her eight kids, ages 6-17. The family recently lost their housing because dad had a sudden health issue and could no longer help out with childcare, which prevents mom from working fulltime. Mom is requesting help getting clothes for the children. She would be happy either with new clothes or with donated used ones. The family is staying in a hotel outside of Albany County at the moment, so we will transport any contributions to them. Please reach out to the case worker if you have any questions. Thank you for any help you could give!

Some of the children are currently sharing beds or sleeping on the floor. This has created inappropriate sleeping arrangements amongst the children who range in gender and age. If the necessary beds are gifted to the family it will allow for safe, comfortable and appropriate sleeping arrangements for the children.

low income family with 3 young female CHN. The youngest 5mo old has inappropriate sleeping arrangements. Family despite both parents working jobs, they are still trying to get back on their feet after being unemployed for a time. The family is currently behind on rent and they have confidence that they will be able to get current on the rent. However, due to these reasons they do not have Crib for the 5mo old , having her sleep in a toddler bed. They currently do not have any sleep ware for the 5mo old. Having her sleep with a child's comforter, I placed other supplies referring to Sleep sacks and other appropriate sleeping clothing. I believe that by providing these pieces not only would you be help to prevent a disaster, but will strengthen the family to show that they is assistance out their they just need to ask.

This single mother, who is raising a nine-year-old girl and a sixteen-year-old boy, was recently the victim of a crime. The family's vehicle already needed some work, but then two of the tires were slashed. Mom relies on this car to get to work and transport the children to school. They have been given a very high estimate for the repairs: it will likely cost around $8000. Mom has tried to get assistance through other avenues without success. At the same time, mom also needs to replace her bed, which is in bad shape, and her daughter's bed frame. The family have also been trying to get a couch and bedding. All of this adds up, and it is extremely difficult for mom to afford all of these expenses. While we understand that this is a large request, any contribution would help ease this family's financial struggles. Thank you for your consideration!

This family consists of a mother and her four sons, ages two, three, seven, and nine. Mom recently got herself and her children out of a domestically violent situation and they moved into a new residence of their own. One of the children has asthma for which he takes steroidal medication that has caused him to gain weight. As a result, his old clothes no longer fit him. The family is requesting jeans, khaki pants, and black dress pants in size 16 husky to replace his old clothes. The family is also requesting two dressers suitable for a child, a shoe rack and a nebulizer. The child only has one nebulizer, so he doesn't have one at his father's home. Thank you!

This single mom and her two-year-old son are now homeless and staying at a shelter. Their finances are strictly limited because they do have to pay to stay in the shelter. The little boy is autistic, which is making it harder for him to adjust to this new environment. Mom is requesting some items to help make this transition easier. In particular, the little boy needs size 7 diapers; three or four packages would really help mom out. If possible, he would also like some toys. He loves things related to music and children's shows. Additionally, they could use some queen-sized sheets, pillowcases, and a comforter to go on the bed in the shelter. Any help you could give would be deeply appreciated and help make this difficult transition much easier.
