We began working with a family who relocated from Douglas to Arapahoe County. The family had been living in a hotel full time and after overcoming many obstacles, were recently able to move in to their own apartment. The three siblings (ages 9, 7, and 5) are currently sharing one mattress and we are hoping to raise funds to obtain two additional twin mattresses and frames to match the one the siblings are currently sharing. Your consideration is greatly appreciated! Links for the requested mattresses and frames are included below for reference:

Recently boys dad has been picked up on a warrant and they are unable to locate their mom. Their older sister has taken them in and is barely making it herself as she is trying to support herself and her child. She does not have the means to provide clothing for her brothers and has been buying them things as she can. The boys have very little to wear. The boys wear men's size medium and large and are asking for solid colored t-shirts, a pair of 14/16 and a pr of 16/20 jeans, medium & large athletic shorts, pkg of boxer briefs for each, pkg of white socks for each and 2 plastic drawers for them to put their items in. Anything that is donated will be a great help and appreciated, thank you.

The family has 3 young children. Two of the boys like to open the door to the apartment and go outside, which causes safety concerns for them. Additionally, they have a 4 month old that will be active in the coming months and they would like a way to prevent the older siblings from opening the door so they are hoping to get some door knob covers to aid in that effort. They would also benefit from additional "baby-proofing" items such as cabinet locks and any additional items that would help provide a safe environment for the baby as well as the other children in the home. Please see the link below for an idea of a couple items that would be beneficial. Thank you! Door Knob Covers: Cabinet Locks: Drawer Locks:

This family has recently encountered some hardships when dad was in a motorcycle accident that caused severe injury. He is a professional mechanic and he won't be able to work for several months, causing the family a severe financial distress. The family was planning to purchase a twin bunk bed prior to the accident but is now worried about their ability to pay for basic needs. I have included a link for the type of bed they were looking to buy for their children if interested in purchasing new however a used donation is also welcomed & VERY much appreciated! Thank you!

This family has put some incredibly hard work with the Department over the past few years in order to regain custody of their children and they have successfully finished! The family is hoping to move in order to "start fresh" and be able to give their children the ability to form new, healthy friendships and start school with a clean slate. The family could benefit from a Walmart gift-card in their quest to move, as it would help with both grocery and gas expenses during this time. They are planning on moving on June 1st so any help in their new journey back together as a family will be outstanding! They have also been given additional community resources for groceries at local pop-up food markets as an on going way to help them feel supported.

Two teen girls have moved from a different state to Colorado for placement with a relative. Their dad is not really involved in their lives and their mother died when they were younger. They have lived in Colorado for a few months now and have been unable to arrange their room or take their clothes out of boxes and suitcases due to the lack of space in their closet and lack of bedroom furniture. Each of these girls would benefit from their own individual dresser to assist them in feeling more at home and in their own space.

This large family has very limited resources and have 3 children in need of transitional car seats as they have grown out of what they had. Another barrier for this family is that one child is autistic and has sensory issues so they struggle to keep her from tearing it up when she's in the car. Ideally, they need the type of car seat that will grow with each child so they do not have to face replacing them again. Please see a suggested car seat below. Please note that due to safety regulations, we are unable to accept used car seats and this donation must be purchased brand new. Thank you for your consideration in helping this family in being able to safely transport their children. **Please note this car seat is available via Target or Amazon as well**

We are currently working with a kinship family who are currently caring for a sibling set, one 7 year old boy they have adopted and his 3 year old sister who is currently in foster care with this child. Both children have high behavioral needs and require extra support and attention. The family is right on the cut off line to access benefits, however; they still have a significant need of financial support to care for 2 high needs children's. The kinship providers would like to work full-time; however, the need for child care for the 3 year-old prevents the mother from being able to work full-time. She was able to locate a summer program for her to attend until she starts preschool in the fall; however, the cost would be a significant strain on their finances. If there is any help the community could provide to assist with covering the cost of this camp, this would allow for the parents to work full-time and provide for their families needs. The camp costs $2,000 for full day camp for 8 weeks. The family is greatly appreciative of any amount to help cover the cost of the camp.

The children were moved out of their father's home and he will not provide them with any information so that they can activate their phones under their mom's name. The two kids are teenagers and living with their grandmother. It would be beneficial for them to have their phones so that they can stay in communication with their grandmother and mom who lives out of state. New phones would help significantly so mother can put the phone plans under her name.

We are working with a youth who is graduating high school this week! She has been in foster care for several years and is about to graduate HS a year early...awesome!! She will not be returning home to her family and doesn't have much support. She has been working a lot to earn money to pay for her own graduation party. She will be going to college and will move into her dorm room on June 1st. She still has a few items on her gift registry that she needs as she transitions on her own. Could you take a look at the registry and see if you can provide any of the items remaining? We would be so appreciate of any support you can provide for her. Gift cards are also welcomed so she can purchase what she needs. Items purchased off the the gift registry are delivered directly to her. And any gift cards can be delivered to me directly so I can provide them to her.

A family has been living in a hotel for the last (almost) two months after being kicked out of their previous home. They had to leave most of their belongings behind. The family has been in search of somewhere to live for many weeks now, but recently got into a new apartment. The family is two boys (ages 5 and 7) and a girl (age 8). Caregivers are mom and her boyfriend who have full custody of the children. They are in need of some furniture for the home. Most specifically beds for the kids and themselves. They are hoping for a bunkbed for the boys to share and a twin bed for the girl. The kids will all be sharing a bedroom, so they'll need to conserve space. Mom and boyfriend have a mattress that is old and dirty, they are hoping to get a new bed themselves if possible. They have also requested a kitchen table and a couch if possible. If provided a table, they will need five chairs to go with it. The family has been dealing with a lot of challenges for the past three months. The kids all have significant needs, which has required parents to take more time working with the school and providers to assure their needs are met. Mom has a job and boyfriend is currently on leave after an injury. Having assistance with new furniture to get settled into their new home would take a tremendous burden off of them and help them to feel more stabilized after being displaced for the last two months.
