Mom is a single working parent providing income to her son and two grandchildren in the home. Mom states that her son is in need of a new bed, mattress, and bedding because for the last few months the family home has been dealing with a mice problem. Mom stated that the neighbors living next door have unsanitary conditions, which has caused for mice to enter into her home. Because of this, the mice have chewed up her son's bed, mattress, and bedding and she worries that he will not have any options for him to sleep in a bed. I hope this message finds you well. I am writing on behalf of a dedicated foster family who has generously opened their home to a teenage boy under their care. In their admirable commitment to providing a safe and nurturing environment, the foster family has also taken in all four of the teenager's siblings and has children of their own.
The foster family has a hectic schedule in caring for seven children in total. We have encountered a unique transportation challenge for this teenage boy. He currently attends an alternative school that does not have the means to provide transportation services. As a result, the foster family is responsible for ensuring he can get to and from school daily. Considering the circumstances, we are reaching out to request support in acquiring an electric scooter for the teenage boy. Having access to an electric scooter would greatly ease the burden on the foster family and enable the teenager to attend school consistently and punctually. This, in turn, will significantly contribute to his educational progress and overall well-being.
We understand the importance of ensuring the teenage boy has a reliable means of transportation to continue his education. Your assistance in this matter would make a significant difference in his life and provide vital support to the foster family. We are deeply grateful for your consideration of this request, and we look forward to your response.
Thank you for your continued dedication to the well-being
Suzie:
We have a used electric scooter we are willing to donate. However, we are not sure on its battery range or how far the boy needs to travel. If someone wants to connect with us so that he could test it and see if it will work, please let us know. Thanks! Suzie

A kinship provider is in need of an Uber gift card as she has been responsible for providing transportation for the foster youth and the youth's baby. The youth and baby go to a school in Kansas City, MO because they have a daycare program in the school for students who are parents. Options for teen students are very limited on the KS side so this has been the best option even though the school is 17 miles away from the home. The provider has either been taking both youth to school or ordering and Uber each day since school has started two weeks ago in order to make sure the youth is attending classes so she can graduate on time this year. The school in Missouri is working to get a ride share program set up for the youth but at this time, the family is responsible for transportation despite having limited availability as her work schedule is very inflexible. We would like to provide financial support to her through an Uber gift card as she has put so much effort into making sure the youth attends school and gets her degree which can be especially difficult as a teen parent. We would be very grateful for any amount of help in the form of gift cards.
Thank you!

A single working mom is in need of a convertible car seat for her youngest child. Although she is working full time, as a single mom to 3 young children, the budget never seems to stretch as far as one would hope. As her youngest has grown, they have gotten too big for their infant carseat. As safety is always the number one priority for her children, this mother knows she needs a bigger car seat, but cannot afford one. A convertible car seat will help to ensure this child is kept safe and help a single working mom stay within her means and keep food on the table.

Children have never attended public school and are struggling to keep up. KVC is in the process of getting children help through school as well, but the children have been making great progress with their current tutor. Placement is currently paying out of pocket for children to attend tutoring, but placement is very low income, so this is difficult to upkeep.

Single mother with four kids ages 4 months to 7 years old. This family just moved back into Kansas from a infested Missouri home. This family's current sofa and love seat are in bad condition as they were infested with insects at their former home. The mother is grateful to be out of the former living conditions and is needing furniture that she and her children can utilize to be together in Livingroom and kitchen. This single mother is in need of living room seating and a rectangle kitchen table with chairs. Their kitchen is small though a rectangle table will work great as it can sit against the window. The children like sitting together at the table for meals. Currently the family has a abused sofa and love seat in the living room. Donor could provide a sectional or a love seat/sofa . Thank you for considering and if any questions feel free to reach out.
Foster family in need of financial assistance. The family was financially struggling before taking a relative foster child into care. The family graciously accepted the child into their home, creating a more significant financial burden. This placement forfeited some work hours to care for the child, placing them even further behind on some of their utilities. The family is working towards obtaining financial education and budgeting to help get them on the right track, but some financial assistance to help keep their utilities on would help to preserve this kinship family foster home. Could you possibly help provide some cash assistance directly to a utility company? Thank you for your consideration.
