The minor mother and her daughter were in foster care for 2.5 years due to minor mother using substances and her risky behaviors and chronic AWOLing. Now the minor mom has been on track with completing her court orders and was recently reunified with her daughter who is 2 yrs. old. The grandmother was able to secure get low income housing and now the minor mom is in need of a Queen/Full bed for her room. The family is also in need of a stove and microwave. The grandmother has used savings to move into new apartment and is a single mom with other children ages 14 & 15 in her care. We hope to support the family and to assist the minor mother with staying on track to continue to bond with her daughter and to have an appropriate bed for her to sleep as she prepares for her second child in November. The fact that they are still together after getting pregnant and married as teenagers is a miracle, especially with a now 5 year old. She works full time online and he recently got laid off because the location he worked at closed, he is actively looking for work. He has always had a job, he is a great provider. They bought their daughter a mattress because they could only afford one, and they are sleeping on the floor. They could really use a queen mattress and platform frame.

This family of six comprises a mother, a father, and four young children ages 16, 13, 11, and 7. Approximately seven months ago, the family got COVID-19, lasting two months. The most severely affected member was the primary breadwinner, who had to be hospitalized for two weeks. As a result, the breadwinner lost his job, and despite finding new employment, the pay was significantly lower than before. This sudden loss of income has left the family in a challenging situation, where they must choose between paying rent, buying food, and covering their utilities. Making such difficult decisions has been a source of great distress for the family. Currently, they are struggling with an outstanding LADWP bill of $800 and would greatly appreciate any assistance they can get.

Relative Resource parents have expressed their need for rental assistance. They are struggling to maintain the rent of $1400 per month for a two bedroom apartment and reported their expenses has increased since the children have been placed with them.
