There are two biological parents who are in need of gas cards to help them maintain employment and allow for increased visitation with their 3 young children. The increased visitation will allow the case to move towards reunification for the children and their biological family. Parents have made huge strides towards reunification and are working hard towards achieving permanency for their children. A gas card would tremendously help the family and would be appreciated.

I have a young man on my caseload that has made the decision to better himself by gong into a youth challenge program as he is interested in what military life would be like. He may potentially want to join the military when he turns 18 in a few years. However he needs quite a few items before he goes to in-processing on January 13th. The needs are 10 pairs of white underpants, no boxers, 7 solid red tshirts with no pockets, 1 pair of shower shoes, 3 pairs of Thermal underwear winter only/white or off white, 3 solid white bath towels and 3 wash cloths white only, 2 pair of brown or black jersey gloves, 1 white only mesh draw string laundry bag, 1 swim trunk solid color only, 1 black boot polish, boot brush and polish cloth, no liquid or creams, 1 unscented sunblock, 1 stick carmex plain lip balm, 1 finger nail clipper, 3 packs plastic disposable razors, 1 shaving gel/cream, 1 pk of 3-6 soap bars with a container, 1 foot powder, 1 hygiene kit bag and 1 combination lock. Any help with purchasing these items would be greatly appreciated and make this young man very happy. He is so excited for this opportunity and talks about the program every-time I see him. When he found out he was accepted he told everyone he saw that day about it.

I am working with a youth who has intellectual disabilities. When she gets upset, she has been struggling to calm down. Her therapist thinks it would be helpful to set up a calming corner with comforting and sensory dampening items that will help her calm down and start to teach her the skills she needs to be able to self-regulate her emotions. The therapist feels that a 20 LB weighted blanket and some noise reduction earplugs would be very helpful for this space. The noise reducing ear plugs would also be used when this youth is out in the community learning skills like grocery shopping, so she would need to be able to hear someone talking to her when wearing them.

The family is going to have their electric cut off due to an outstanding balance. The mom paid the minimum due but still needs 195.00 paid to be current. The mother is working three jobs to try to make ends meet. She recently had to turn down a better paying job to be able to coordinate pick up of her children from school and child care. The family recently started trial reunification and needs help getting on her feet while taking on her three children in her home.

I have a family of five on my caseload that recently moved into their own rental home. The parents have been working very hard to be able to provide their three children with a space of their own. The family is needing a couple common household things, such as a washer and dryer, bed frames and mattresses. The family was previously staying with other family members, so they did not have furniture or appliances of their own to take with them. The family would be appreciative and grateful for any help they can get. The parents are both working full time jobs while also attending all of their required services.

A grandmother and her two grandchildren are dealing with the death of their grandfather several weeks ago. Plans to buy a new stove and washing machine were upended by the costs of the head of household's funeral. The grandmother is asking for assistance with getting a new stove and washing machine into the house for the welfare of the children as finances are running short. There is income from different sources, but the closeness of events has hurt the family's savings. The appliances do not need to be purchased if reliable replacements could be found. Assistance would be greatly appreciated at this time.

Hello! I have a mother that wants to work really hard to reunify with her daughter. She is experiencing some hardships with paying her electric bill. She is in need of 35.48 dollars. Bio mother is living in a camper trailer while she waits for housing to become available. The bio mom is close to starting reunification with her children. However, her water heater has broken and is unrepairable. An electric water heater would allow her to better manage her electricity usage and it would be hot water on demand rather than a tank which could potentially leak again. She is disabled and unable to work more than a few hours a day. She has a pending disability claim with social security but that is not a fast process. CWS Hutchins has found a unit on Ace Hardware website EcoSmart 2.6gallon 1440 watt electric water heater for 189.99.

Mom lives in Texas and has made great strides to get back on track and has done so. She is currently taking care of her other child safely and financially and has paid off all her debt to get back to Oklahoma. The child recently lost his only other family member (grandmother) in which the child had a strong bond a couple of months ago from organ failure. Mom has secured the money for the Uhual; paid off all outstanding debts and has the funds for the 1st months’ rent on the new apartment in Tulsa; but is just short of the deposit. The kiddo has been placed in a new foster home and bio mom has attended and participated in all services with OKDHS, including making a complete lifestyle change to do so. We have a mother having major hardships at the moment. Her vehicle has broken down and this is making it nearly impossible to get to work and is hindering visiting with her children. Uber and Lyft is costing her a fortune and it's hard for her to keep up with everything. This mother is living pay-check to pay-check and isn't getting easier for her. This has caused her to miss family time with her children, which isn't like her. She has reached out to us pleading for whatever help she can get. A mechanic has told her that it will cost upwards $800 to fix her vehicle. With paying rent and everyday necessities she has been unable to reach that amount. The mechanic says the engine has completely gone out. She does have another vehicle the same model as the one she has now that is down due to a wreck she had. The engine in that one is fine and the mechanic advised her that that engine could be put in her current vehicle but $800 is the best price she has been given. This mother only seeks help, it doesn't have to be cash, just possibly someone that help get her vehicle up and going again. So if anyone fixes vehicles or knows someone that does she would appreciate that greatly. She is devastated that she has had to miss seeing her children when she is unable to afford or get a ride to family time. Any help from the community would benefit her in so many ways.

I have a family of 2 adults, and 5 children ages 9, 12, 13, 15, and 17. The younger 3 children report never having beds to sleep on. They report sleeping on air mattresses up until this last week when they popped, to where they are sleeping on tile floors with a blanket. The family needs assistance with beds, mattresses, sheets and pillows. Assisting this family getting mattresses will help these children get a good nights rest to thrive in academics, sports and day to day life. Christmas is coming up and would make their Holiday season special!

A single mom who was reunited with her children, is needing some assistance with rent during the holidays. She is the sole provider for her family with children that have medical needs, ages 2 (boy) and age 4 (female). Mom has been trying to pay her rent as she gets paid but lost an income from separating from her children's father who is not providing financial support to their children. Any assistance towards her rent this holiday season would be greatly appreciated. If more information is needed please contact Case Worker.

A family of 3 is in need of help. The family is currently working services while their 2 year old is staying with friends. The family is struggling to not only be able to see their child, but also to make it to appointments and to work as their car is unreliable and they do not have the funds to fix it. Mom is pregnant and is working to help support her and her children while Dad is also looking for a job. Bus passes for these parents would not only help them make it to the appointments for their pregnancy, but also to work so they can continue receiving care and services and so they can see their kiddo while they work on getting her back home. Please help this family get back on their feet and support them in their time of need.

16 year old girl new to DHS custody is need of a twin/full sized bedding set (frame, mattress and bedding). If this need is met, this will help her maintain placement in a kinship home. This child is also in need of clothing and essential items, as she has very minimal. If this need is met, this will help her maintain a sense of dignity during this difficult time.

A developmentally delayed 17-year-old girl who lives in a group home would like a TV and DVD player for her bedroom. Watching TV is a positive coping mechanism as it helps her relax by refocusing her attention. Having a TV in her own room would allow her to avoid arguments with the other girls over the communal TV and give her more of an incentive to disengage and regulate herself in her room when she's overstimulated by the activity in the home instead of becoming reactive in a negative manner.
At the group home, there is no cable or streaming capabilities, hence the need for a DVD player. We've included links for combo TV/DVD players below to simplify her setup but would accept separate devices as well. The primary limitation is that the size of the TV cannot exceed 32".
