DHS has been working with a mother in a prevention case to build up her protective capacities so her child could safely return home. Her son has been in an out of home safety plan with his grandmother who has not been very supportive in regards to emotional support and transportation. The safety plan monitor today has informed DHS and the parent, she was no longer going to be able to keep the child in her care and the child is returning to the mother's care tonight. Because the mother has been successful in services, has not had any additional safety issues , and has been successful in the case so far, DHS is able to approve the child returning home. The one thing the mother has struggled with is transportation. She had to wait to get her tax returns to buy a car and she has accomplished that goal for herself. She was waiting for her next paycheck to obtain insurance but now with the child returning home this weekend, she needs to have insurance sooner so she can safely transport her son in her new car. It would help this family tremendously if the start up fees for her insurance can be covered as she was not expecting her son to return home so soon and she will need to get him to daycare so she can continue to work. The insurance is through Cheapest Auto Insurance in OKC and it costs 156. Thank you so much for all you do.
We have a family fostering 2 sweet baby boys while still raising 4 of their own. Foster father serves in the military and recently had to switch job titles. His check will not be deposited for another 40 days, leaving the family in a huge bind. The family is in desperate need of assistance with their rent. If you can help this sweet family in ANY amount, please reach out as soon as possible.

A family of 7 had a house fire this week and has no where to stay. We would like to put them in a hotel and help get them back on their feet. There are 2 kids 5 and under and 3 pre-teens. Any donations or help for this family would be greatly appreciated!
While it’s ideal for parents to work their reunification journey together, that doesn’t always happen. Unfortunately, a young couple has separated for the benefit of their children; but it has left a young mother to afford the bills of the family’s home by herself. The young woman get paid about $700 each week; however, the young woman but pay February’s rent by herself in addition to a $200 balance from January. The young woman can afford most the $1000 balance owed, but she cannot afford to pay the full balance. This young lady has looked into organizations that offer rental assistance; however, she’s not been able to find support at this time. Any assistance that can be offered to pay this $1000 balance would be greatly appreciated.

This is a single parent home. Foster parent took in her great granddaughter and has been doing well until recently. Foster mom thought she was getting assistance with her rent however when the apartment went under new ownership the new managers were not able to find the paperwork and say that there was never any payments made. Foster parent needs $475.00 today to cover part of the rent that she is behind on. She owes a total of $3000.00 to the complex. Foster parent stated if she does not have the $475 by 5pm on 2/3/23 she will be locked out of her apartment and lose all of her things. The child has no where else to go nor does foster parent. Meeting this need will help the family remain in a home they are use to. Foster mom recently lost her daughter and is currently caring for her grandson as well.

CRYSTAL:
Has this been to court? Did she not get copies of the paperwork needed? Have you looked at the renters rights? Have you spoken with the apartments to confirm all of this or plead with them? They cant just look the doors without a court order.

I can help if I can Venmo the apartment directly.
Bio parents have a cut-off notice. They've been in between jobs but just informed me that they have employment and begin work this week. They are very kind and grateful people that just need a little help temporarily. They have been able to pay their rent and other utilities and have reached out to the tribe with no success.
A mother in Yukon is needing assistance with Rent. In the home is a single mother and her son. The mother recently lost her job and is currently looking for a job. She is currently behind on her February rent. This mother could use help with rental assistance as the apartment gave her until the 15th to settle the balance. Anything would help even if its just a small portion of it. Thank you so much for your help!
The father has been looking for an apartment so he can have a stable and appropriate living space which will allow he and his son to begin overnight visits moving toward reunification. The father has worked to address and change the behaviors which brought his son into custody and continues to participate in services that will strengthen him and his son. He and his son are looking forward to being together again, his son often asking when this might happen. The father has recently started a new job and has found an apartment but needs assistance with the first months rent ($745). This assistance will help him continue to move forward.

1 infant newborn is in need of a crib mattress and a 1 year old child is needing a bedframe and mattress. As of now, they are sleeping with the parents in a full bed. Having the newborn sleep with the parents is not best practice for safe sleep. The crib mattress will allow the newborn and parents to sleep peacefully at night. The toddler bed would be for the one year old and provide more comfort for the family. The family is struggling financially to pay their bills and buy groceries at this time and can't spare any money for proper beds for the kids.

A Kinship Foster Home whom is a single mother of her own two girls; took in a 12-year-old, because she was being moved back to Oklahoma as her aunt requested; she be removed. The foster mother used to be the daycare teacher of the 12-year-old girl, and with her big heart, could not see the child to have to be placed with strangers, and opened her home to be an emergency placement without immediate payment. She has completed everything asked of her to begin receiving payments although some of her paperwork was sent back to the foster care worker for corrections which has prolonged the date on which she will receive her foster care card. She was supposed to have already received the card although she now isn't expected to receive the card any sooner than the end of the upcoming week. Thinking she was supposed to have already received payment/s she spent some money on some clothes for the child and is now struggling to come up with enough money to pay her bills. She only has $900 to her name although has upcoming bills; rent $1200 and $300 cell phone bill both due tomorrow and an upcoming electric bill of $195. If this need is not helped with, the foster mom, and three girls including the 12-year-old foster child will be in jeopardy of being behind on rent and/or the lights being turned off due to inability to pay the bill/s. She is doing everything, she is able, and this obstacle is no fault of her own. Thanks in advance, and any help would be appreciated!
Karen:
We can pay this electric bill. Please email me the OGE account number at your convenience and we will get the process started. Thanks for all you do!
Hello,
I have the honor of working with a family recently reunified and doing well trying to get their lives on track as a family unit. Unfortunately, the mother is having some difficulties financially while getting used to having all of her children back in her care. The mother recently shared while she has been able to pay most of her bills, she is lacking the funds to pay her electric bill. We are asking for a hand up in helping this mother in ensuring the family can maintain electricity in this time of need. Your time, consideration, and help are most appreciated!

OKDHS is currently working with a family that is in need of financial assistance to pay their car payment. This family has been working services to help to correct the safety threat that led to our involvement. The children are back in the home with the parents and the parents have been doing a wonderful job in applying what they have learned while interacting with their children. Although the father works a full time job, the parents and the children were sick with COVID during the past couple of weeks. The father did not have enough paid time off to cover all of their expenses for the month, and have exhausted other avenues. The family is in need of $620 to cover this expense so the family will continue to have transportation. OKDHS is requesting any and all assistance in helping this family. Any help provided is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
A family of 4 in the El Reno area is needing help. In the home is a single dad and 3 children. The family is low income. The father's mother attempts to help them as much as she can such as buying furniture from garage sales. Unfortunately, some of the furniture the grandmother purchased had bed bugs. The mattresses are now ruined by bed bugs and he has tried everything to get rid of them such as wrapping the mattresses in plastic and spraying them with bed bug killer; this has not helped. Due to the financial stresses on this single father, he has not been able to afford new mattresses. They would need 3 twin mattresses and 1 queen mattress. Thank you so much for your help and consideration in this matter.

We have a 16 year old female who just entered one of our foster homes. She loves music and thoroughly enjoys playing the violin. When she initially entered care, she had a violin. However, with many shelter and group home placements, her violin and other belonging were lost. This child has experienced things no child should, and we are hopeful to provide her with something that has brought her much joy.

Daina:
I would love to purchase this for her. I am a violinist too for over 20 years and would like to let her know that she can do anything she sets her mind to! I would also like to purchase a couple of music books for her, a tuner and a metranome and shoulder rest. Let me know what level she is and I can do that. Can't wait to hear about this rising star!
J is a single mother of 4, ranging in age from 3 months to 11 years old. She is a survivor of severe domestic violence and she and her children have struggled off and on with homelessness. Up until recently she found a job and is now working full-time in early child development and considers herself to have found her "niche". She is taking this chance to become independent and self-sufficient for herself and her children. Meeting the needs of 4 children has been difficult financially, but J does her best. The Department is involved with the family due to safety concerns for the children. J's hope is that by working with the Department and taking the recommended classes, this will enable her to reach her potential as a protective parent and learn how to avoid destructive cycles by equipping her with skills that can break the generational patterns of abuse and neglect. J. has been referred to a host of services, but she doesn't have transportation and she works until 5:00 pm M-F. The need is for gift cards from Lyft or Uber that will allow her to attend preventative services and be complaint with the department. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

A grandmother took in her granddaughter and grandson. This grandmother has seen so many improvements in their behavior, grades, and emotions since being with her. She has recently been told that she will no longer be receiving a monthly payment. While everyone is working to get this issue resolved, she is needing help being able to afford her utility bills. She primarily used her monthly payments on the utilities and anything the children wanted/needed. However, since she is no longer receiving the payments, it has made it more difficult for her to get caught up on all her bills and pay them off. If you are able to help this family meet this need, please let me know and I will get you connected to the family!

Donna:
Our kids have a washer in the garage that worked when they bought their one. It's about 10 years old. If no one offers to buy a new one, my husband can take her this one, and connect it to make sure it works.
