DCS has been involved with this family several times due to struggles with mental health and financial means of the family. Mother is a single parent who lacks supports that can help assist her financially. She has 3 young children, only one being school aged, and is not employed while trying to maintain the family. DCS is requesting assistance in paying for an IU Summer Reading Program that will provide virtual support for the oldest child in helping her with reading, pronunciation, and comprehension. This child is in Kindergarten and going into first, the school recommended this program to help her stay at grade level moving into the next grade. This program will provide the child with books as additional support. This program does not offer a scholarship, and the total cost is $320.73. DCS is needing full payment if possible but partial payment would be appreciated as well.

A 2 year-old girl is in need of a toddler bed for her kinship placement home. The child's mother is currently recovering from addiction, and child is placed with her biological father who left the home around the same time as the child was removed. Father has most furniture but is in need of a toddler bed to provide the child a safe and comfortable place to sleep independently. Having this need met will relieve a significant strain on placement as he adjusts to his new life in a new apartment with his daughter.

Family was displaced from previous address due to eviction in Fall 2024. From Fall 2024 - Spring 2025 family was displaced in various locations to include shelter and family homes. During that time family lost nearly all of daily items needed in household. Mom is working to reestablish herself and her children and could use any of the following items:

Living room furniture Dinette Table Set Deep Freezer Queen Bed Set Bedding Pots Pans Silverware Dishes Television (if there is one) BBQ grill (if there is one)

This is a large family - Mom has 6 children and one grandchild living with her. All items do not need to come together - she will be thankful for any items on the list so if only some items are available at a time from one location that is okay for her. Child is currently placed in kinship care and will be starting a trial home visit soon with parents. Father is working and mother does not. Child is on a special diet where the liquids have to be thicken and the liquid thickener is not covered by the child's medicaid at this time. The medication can only be ordered on line through Amazon or Walmart. Parents are working with Medicaid to get this covered, but while that is being done, the family could use assistance in getting this thickener.

I have a 6-year-old child who is in relative placement. The child has special needs and is in need of a toddler bed and mattress. The child is placed with her father who is a stay-at-home dad and cares for 2 additional children in the home. This bed will allow the child to share a room and bond with her sibling. Additionally, it is most safe for the child to sleep in the same room with a sibling yet have the ability to sleep independently.

A family consisting of a Mother and 15 year old boy could benefit from assistance within their community. Mother is working several jobs to support her family and providing this additional assistance can make a hug impact for the family. The family could use a new area rug for their living room due to their current one having an odor of pet urine. Their elderly dog has had multiple accidents on this rug over the years and providing the family with a new one will improve the conditions of the home. Furthermore, the family could use assistance with moving a few large items (dressers and a table) out of the home to create more space. Mother has health issues that make moving these items incredibly difficult, even with the help of her son. The family's washer recently stopped working, so if the family could get assistance with a new washer for laundry to help with the smell, that would help the family greatly. They are grateful for any assistance provided. Thank you!

A single mother of two boys has been working with DCS to be reunited with her children. Mom has been making progress in her services. One of the boys is in need of a twin bed, mattress, and bedding. Providing this will allow him to have a safe and comfortable place to sleep, as he is currently sleeping on an air mattress.

This kinship placement has obtained emergency placement of two young females, ages 3 and 6 years of age. The kinship placement is in need of beds (2 twin beds) or bunkbed along with the mattresses and bedding. The placement could also use furniture to assist with clothing such as a dresser, tall wooden or plastic organizer.

Biological father is now placement and does not have appropriate amount of bed for the children. Father in need of a toddler bed for a boy and a trundle bed for two girls (only way to have enough beds for the room). Additionally, mattresses, box springs if needed based on bed, and bedding such as sheets, pillows, and blankets for the bedding. Father shares the girls like pink and the toddler enjoys spiderman.

The Department intervened and removed the children from the care of their mother to ensure their ongoing safety, well-being, and stability. Mother worked hard and completed all of her services and the children are currently on a trial home visit. This mother is an outstanding mother that will go to the end of the world for her children. She works very hard and has her own home. She is very into spending quality time with her children. She is very outgoing and can adapt to any situation with great resiliency. Having a toddler bed for the youngest child would help create a sense of home and normalcy for both the child and her mother. Thank you for all you do!

A young mother lost her infant child and is preparing funeral arrangements. Due to the young age of the infant, the mother had not had the time to get life insurance or medicaid set up for the child. Mother is needing assistance with paying for funeral arrangements.

The children were recently reunified with bio mother after 1.5 years in Foster Care. DCS bought a 3 tiered bed for the children. The family still needs bedding for all 3 twin beds. Two girls, ages 9 & 11 and one boy age 10. The family is currently staying with a friend however, mother is financially struggling, while trying to finish school.
