I have a youth (TR) who is currently placed in a group home in Richmond VA. The youth has been in Foster Care since October of 2022 and has not been able to see her family members. Her family members really want to go visit her but do not have enough money to buy gas to get to Richmond and back. I am asking for a gas gift card to assist the family in visiting with TR.

I have a 17 year old youth (KR) who has been in Foster Care since September of 2021. The youth has been in locked down facilities and/or detention the entirety of her time in Foster Care. She was recently placed on a trial home placement with her maternal grandmother and biological mother who reside in the same home in Bedford, VA. KR is very excited about the opportunity to be with her family as she has not seen them or lived with them in a long period of time. KR is currently in need of a straight talk cell phone as well as a one month $45 straight talk phone service card so that her family can connect with her when they have to go to work. This is a huge need in order for the family to continue having KR in their home as they have to work and ensure KR is behaving well. The family is understanding that they will have to continue the $45 a month phone card after the first 30 days. The family is also is need of grocery and gas gift cards to help with the additional month to feed and additional travel to appointments. KR and her biological sister are both prescribed medication and need lock boxes for those prescriptions. Please let me know if you are able to assist this family so that KR can remain on her trial home placement and hopefully have custody returned to her family.

BCDSS is requesting assistance in helping a family of two adults and 3 children (2yo female, 1yo male, 5mo male). This family has 3 young children and is in need of pest control treatment for their home to ensure a safe and healthy environment for both the children and caretakers. The family specifically needs treatment for roaches within the home. Estimated cost is approximate as an estimate has not been completed yet.

This family is in need of financial assistance in covering the first months rent for their new apartment. This family has been on my caseload previously and has always been very polite and cooperative. They have two wonderful children. Although her case is closed we are still seeking your assistance so the children do not lose their home and have to enter Foster Care.
I placed $1000.00 as the needed amount. I believe they will be getting assistance from RAM House for $300.00. At this point that is not a guarantee.

The family consists of a mother and her two sons, ages 14 and 11. The stepfather of the children travels back and forth between their home and Belize on a visa he can only get for a few months at a time. The mother works full time and works extra shifts to provide for her children. The children are currently sharing a queen size bed, and a bunk bed would be very beneficial to them so they can each have their own space.
*The family only speaks Spanish*

I can commit to the $100 but I would think the repair would be for more. BEFORE they spend 100's on brake replacement, if it is more than $100, I could possibly have a couple of men in our church take a look at doing the repair.
So, let me know if $100 will cover the repair. If not, let me know the extent of the work and I might be able to coordinate the repair with some guys in our church.
Thanks!

Single mother and daughter lost most of their items in an apartment flood. They relocated to a new apartment and have already had significant maintenance issues in the new home as well. Family is requesting twin bed frame (they have the mattress) and bedding for the daughter, basic kitchen items and cleaning supplies as they work to settle into their new apartment.
An unemployed father is waiting for his disability funding and dealing with a severe illness. His wife is able to work but is not able to support all the family's expenses with her job. Family was unable to pay May rent and will be facing eviction if $1220 in financial assistance is not obtained.
I recently began working with a family where the mom had to place this child out with relatives, however relatives reside in Lynchburg. The relative took the child in without notice and they do not have the means to splurge on the child. The child came to Lynchburg without much clothing. The child is 13, approx. 6'0. The relative has asked for assistance with getting him some underwear, socks, shoes and t-shirts. The 13-year-old wears plain t-shirts, and skinny jeans. The relative does commute to Roanoke so that mom and son are able to meet. Mom has mental health and substance use issues. She is currently not working and will need a lot of assistance in general. But for the time being, I'd love for her child to get clothes, because he does not have much. The child is bright, loves school, and being outside in the community. If anyone has donated clothing or wants to donate a gift card so that the relative can get him clothing, that would be so helpful. I predict that the child will be with the relative for at least 5 months.
Child has 32 waist size, medium size shirts, shoe size 11 is what I was able to obtain from the relative.

Three children, ages 5, 4, and 3, were leaving in horrible conditions. Trash everywhere, flies, bugs, dishes, no airflow, etc. The bio mother and father tested positive for drugs. The parents are from California, but recently moved to Virginia for a "new start." The family in California have been so gracious to fly here on a whim to retrieve the children so the children do not end in Foster Care. The family has paid over $3,000 for the last minute flight to get the children. The bio parents obviously did not have anything for the children so I am asking for anything to help this family in California who have taken on these children. Walmart, Target, Visa giftcards or places to eat. The children are being reunited with all their cousins, and grandparents in California today. The grandfather has cancer and not doing well and is very happy to see his grandchildren again. Anything helps! Updated on May 08, 2023 by an Agency Worker $450 has been fulfilled! I would love to get someone to match this :)

I am the caseworker for a medically fragile child in foster care, she is about 9 months old. Her mother is a single mother living in Roanoke, VA and is working on getting her own place. I am asking if anybody would be able to assist in a new bus pass for her from Valley Metro. She previously utilized a 31-day Unlimited Pass which is about $57.68 and can be bought at the main Valley Metro bus station. The bus is her only transportation to and from visitation with her child, as well as work, and would help her out a lot. She is working to make money to get stable housing and provide for her child but could use this extra assistance. If you have any questions, please let me know! Thank you!

I am working with a family of five. The parents have three children under the ages of 9yrs old one of which has special needs. They have reached out and asked for assistance with getting a new refrigerator. Their current refrigerator sometimes quits cooling, freezes up and leaks. They have had food spoil as a result. This family is on a very strict and limited income. Anything can help. The family is also not opposed to a used refrigerator just as long as it works and can meet the needs of their family.
