A student and his parents are evicted from their home effective April 30, 2025. The present plan for the student is to stay with his brother while parents live in their car. Parents may be able to stay at a nearby campsite a couple of days a week to have access to showers and other facilities. Assistance with non-perishable food items and some cold food items that can be kept in a small cooler is needed. Additional assistance with a couple of nights each week in a local hotel (preferably the one in Independence) will be helpful so parents can have access to basic necessities, and the mother can get to work in town. The family is on a waiting list for a local apartment in in the Independence town area. The anticipated availability is within a couple of weeks. The father's cell phone will be turned back on April 30th as he is searching for employment.

We are working with a mother who has been through a very challenging situation recently, losing her significant other unexpectedly, among other various events. We are working to reunify her with her children, as she is working through several programs to support her ongoing recovery in addiction and to address the grief she is working through. She is trying to ensure she can maintain visitation with her two children, who are currently about an hour away from her residence. The placement is unable to provide transportation for mom. We are looking for someone who would be willing to provide transportation (at least up to 30 min. drive to a local park) to and from a visit over the upcoming weekend and/or a gift card to utilize Uber to maintain in person contact with the children and maintain momentum on the plan to return them home.

A gorgeous litle girl is requesting help in feeling more confident in her clothes and with her self-esteem. She is quickly outgrowing what she currently owns and is trying to get some new pieces. The following are her sizes:

Hello! A grandmother recently became emergency approved as a foster parent for her 5 year old granddaughter through our agency. She is currently going through a divorce while now trying to raise her granddaughter. She is in need of a twin sized trundle bed and mattress so that the child has an appropriate place to sleep in her home. Currently the child is sleeping in her bed, and she is sleeping on the sofa. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Single mother of 5 children, one adult son-18. Family has been experiencing pest control issues, rental/landlord issues and have been treating/repairing out of pocket until recently when the department became involved. Mother works full time, and does receive assistance with SNAP, however due to recent repairs, has fallen short in necessities, i.e. groceries. Any assistance would be appreciated. The mother was hesitant in asking for help from the department or anyone as she prides herself on being self- sufficient.

I have a father who recently returned home from rehab. He went to his mother's home to avoid relapsing in a familiar environment of where he was using and does not have a lot clothing. He is working towards getting his children returned home and restabling his life.

He is in size 33X30 pant and medium shirt.

A family with four children is temporarily living with other family members in a crowded living situation while they look for other housing. They are struggling with declutter due to lack of space in trailer and number of household members currently residing in the home. In order to keep the living space safe for the children, they are greatly in need of large, sturdy storage tubs with lids to work on decluttering and organization in the household to reduce safety concerns.

We have a family here in Bedford that is currently residing at the Bedford Motel due to their home situation that became dangerous and they had to flee at a moments notice. They were able to cover 2 weeks worth of stay at the Bedford Motel but have been looking for housing that is within their budget. A trailer has become available but money is already tight, let alone paying for a first months rent, security deposit and a $300 water deposit. She has been reaching out for financial assistance within the community but continues to come up short and is seeking any kind of help possible to cover some of the initial expenses. If this need is met, not only will the mother and daughter have stable housing but they will be in a safe environment where they can attend school/work without additional stressors.

Single mother living with her mother, brother, and two kids in a single wide trailer. Two young girls, one in high school and one in middle school. Mother is behind on rent this month. Total to be paid by May 1st is $900.

The Department is working with family who is assisting with the care of two children. This is requiring the family to transport the children to different areas around the community. This has placed a financial burden on the family.

We have a mom and six kids in need of assistance with a few bills. Her husband passed away after fighting a difficult battle with cancer last year. She is trying to manage all the finances but has had some difficulty getting on her feet. Any assistance that could be provided to support this family and relieve some stress of this mother would be greatly appreciated!

Hello! I am currently working with grandparents who are serving their granddaughter as her kinship foster parents. Their granddaughter, 3 years old, is the victim of shaken baby syndrome. This child was shaken to the extent where she is immobile and in a vegetative state. She is receiving excellent love, care, attention, and support from her family as well as all service providers. Unfortunately, the family does not have the means to transport the child without the use of a Medicaid transport van. We are requesting help from our community to supply this family with a handicap-accessible van that includes a wheelchair lift. Thank you for considering helping this family!
