A tulsa county kinship family is in high need for assistance with their natural gas bill. Oklahoma Natural Gas has disconnected the family from their gas service, and the family has no additional funds to help pay for the outstanding bill. The family consists of a single mother, a son, and two foster children. Foster mom was unfortunately let go from her position at work due to unforseen circumstances, and has had difficulty securing a new position. She continues to be incredibly patient and flexible, and steps up to gain placement of additional relatives with no other place to go. The current outstanding balance is approximately $587. Any and all assistance in bringing this balance lower will be greatly appreciated and will help bring this family back to a sense of normalcy and well deserved comfort.

A mother and a father recently had a baby boy come into custody. They are involved in services and have already initiated drug testing and substance abuse treatment. They have a car, but cannot get it tagged due to fines from late toll payments. Until they can pay off the fines, they are without transportation. We are asking for a bus pass for each parent so they can get to their services and court hearings. This would provide a practical need and remove a barrier to working toward reunification. Thank you for all the wonderful help you provide!

The foster parent's furniture is old and in need of a new couch. The foster mom is asking if she could get a sectional couch/matching furniture if possible. She has been doing a great job fostering the child and is in the process of adopting the foster child. The foster child enjoys living in the home with the foster parent.

I have a single mother who is in urgent need of rent and utility assistance this month. She was recently able to be reunified with her 4 children and has been able to maintain her finances up until recently. Her employer is closing their offices following financial issues which has lead to her and others not getting paid on time or at all. She is currently seeking employment elsewhere, but in the meantime she would need help with bills this month. She currently owes $730 dollars in rent plus at $75 dollar late fee and $63.40 on her gas bill which was due on 8/29. Anything will help! Thank you!

I am trying to find a tv, dvd player, tv stand and some dvd's for a teenager without a strong familial support system. She is able to have her own room and these items are allowed. This would provide an option for entertainment in the comfort of her own room.

A grandmother has taken in three of her grandchildren who are all under the age of three. The grandmother is not receiving any financial assistance and is becoming overwhelmed financially. The department would like to help the grandmother with groceries for the month. Meeting this need would allow the grandmother some financial relief and give her the ability to allocate her funds towards the other needs of the children. Thank you.

Kinship family with sibling group, 4(m) & 14(f) year old. The 4 year old is an awesome kid with high energy who loves his sister. He is interested in soccer and would like to play. Program cost is around $120.00 each 8 week season. If anyone knows a soccer team/club they would like to recommend, that would be awesome! You are greatly appreciated.

Foster mom of one medically fragile child. The foster mother was receiving workers comp but was released under conditions by her doctor. However, the doctor did not release her in a proper way to return to work. Her compensation was suddenly cut off due to the release. She is still unable to work and is currently receiving no income. She has applied to be a kinship placement, which has been approved, however, this home is new, therefore, she is not yet receiving a monthly stipend. Also, if she chose to go back to work, she would still be unable to due to the needs of the child. The child currently has a feeding tube, meaning she cannot go to just any daycare, and there are no other available childcare options for the family. The foster mother is needing help with getting the rent paid for September. The total balance is $900, she has expressed that she has $200 to put towards her total balance; however she is still in need of $700. The family has expressed any type of help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a child client who has recently reported to us that their refrigerator is not properly sealing and food is spoiling within days. Because of this, the kiddo is not eating a "normal" amount for his age, and there are 2 other children plus mom in the household dealing with this struggle as well. In addition, mom struggles as-is to keep groceries stocked, so them spoiling quickly is hurting her finances and ability to provide for the children further. Their request is a refrigerator/freezer combo that operates as it should, new or used of course doesn't matter, as long as it works. A new-to-them fridge would greatly improve their lives and well-being.
A bio family needs help so they can have more family time with their 10 month old baby placed far away from where they live. The mother and father do not have transportation. Time with their child is available, they just need help with transportation. They stated that they are willing to take the greyhound bus there and back so they can see their child more. We are asking for help in getting them bus tickets to help them see their child on the weekends. The estimated cost is for one round trip ticket for each parent. Thank you for all you do. You make a positive impact in the lives of the families we serve.

This family is a single mom with three children. Mom has secured employment but cannot afford to purchase appliances. Her first check was only $200 for the week. The dryer has gone out and the refrigerator is going out. They are having to go to the laundromat to dry clothes and or hang to dry. She does not make enough money to pay for the laundromat weekly. Her refrigerator is going out and no longer keeping the food cold, Mom has health issues and one of the children has intense mental health issues. The family would be happy with used appliances.as long as they are clean and work. Estimates are for used appliances on Marketplace.
