Dear Careportal family, I hope this message finds you well. We have an urgent request from the Lead Southeast Middle family who need our support. A single mother is striving to care for her two young boys, but she is facing significant challenges in providing for them, especially as job opportunities become increasingly scarce. This mother is doing her best in a difficult situation and needs assistance with some necessities, particularly food. Offering help to this family would make a profound difference in their lives during this challenging time. Your kindness and generosity could truly alleviate some of the burdens they are facing. AGAPE serves a sibling group of four placed in two different AGAPE Foster Families. The foster family of the two older children were recently in a car accident taking the children to therapy. The driver that hit this family had no car insurance. The foster family is now responsible for all the repairs to their vehicle and have a high insurance copay to now pay. Any assistance towards these fees would benefit this family.

AGAPE serves a 16-year-old girl in foster care. She needs a new retainer for her mouth however her insurance doesn't cover the cost for orthodontics care. The foster family would benefit from any funds towards this pressure.

We are having more and more young adults more into our apartment complex we bought for our youth, which means the needs are constantly pouring in. We have several of the youth, girls in particular, that walk around wearing hardly anything. We will take donations of any size clothing (shirts/pants) and any size underwear. The financial amount/value is an estimate--clothes can be donated if gentle used. Thank you!!

Hello! I am the Program Manager for I Am Next, the Nashville/Middle TN based nonprofit that works with youth who have aged out of foster care.

We have a unique opportunity for the right church group! We have two young expecting moms due in August with their first babies--one a little boy and one a little girl. We would LOVE to have a church group come in and wrap support around these moms by hosting a combined baby shower for them including some decor, light refreshments, and gifts.

We have a small conference room available to have this shower on site at our apartment complex but we are open to it being at a church's building also--whatever is most convenient for everyone! It doesn't have to be anything super extravagant and can even be a come and go thing, but we would love for these two moms to feel supported and get any last baby items they need. We were thinking it would be good to have this sometime in June or early July as they are both due in August. We can be flexible on day and time of this event. If you and your church group would like to take lead on this, please let me know! We are flexible on all the details and would love someone to take the reins on creative freedom with this event! I wasn't sure what to put as the financial amount for this request, so it is just an estimate and not a hard number. Thank you.

We have a young mom who has two babies-1.5 year old and a 5 month old. She has a lot of needs and requires lots of support from us. She is needing a high chair and a small toddler bed (including mattress, bedding, and frame) for her 1.5 year old. She is in a studio apartment so she doesn't have much room. Thank you to whoever provides these for her!

Hello! I am the Program Manager for I Am Next, the Nashville/Middle TN based nonprofit that works with youth who have aged out of foster care. We have one young adult who is 19 and pregnant with her first child. She is one of our youth that is putting the most effort into her future. She is a current CNA, in nursing school, thinking about joining the military, and is expecting her first child at the beginning of August. She has requested some postpartum supplies to help her body physically recover. This is a list of things she sent me: postpartum pads, disposable postpartum underwear, ice packs, witch hazel pads, peri bottle, stool softeners, comfortable clothing, sitz bath, nursing bras, breast pads, and nipple care products. The $200 is an estimate; there could be a package out there on Amazon or somewhere that has a handful of this stuff in a bundle for cheaper.

If you would like to help with these items, I can provide you with her address to mail them to or deliver them to her door and meet her. She is going to be a great mom, and we really see the effort she is making to find sustainable independence.

AGAPE took a DCS Foster Care of a sibling group ages 2 (girl) and 9 months (girl) approximately a month ago. The birth parents have a history of domestic violence and cannot visit their children at the same time. Neither birth parent has safe transportation and will need to take a Lyft to each supervised visitation to see their children. The parents have limited financial resources and would benefit from Lyft Gift Cards so they can see their children. Any funds towards these gift cards would be a huge blessing.

AGAPE serves a sibling group of 4 who are in foster care out of Davidson County. Their father diligently is working his plan to return the children to his care. Due to his hard work the Team and Court are allowing him to begin unsupervised visitation with all four children. The father would be blessed to have assistance with gas money as he will be transporting the children to three different foster homes. Any assistance available would be greatly appreciated.

AGAPE serves a sibling group of two; a brother age 8 and his brother age 6. The older sibling has a significant trauma history and recently disrupted our foster care home to be placed in a residential facility in GA. His foster family continues to stay in contact with him via telephone calls and recently began doing virtually family therapy. The plan for this young child is to return to this foster family once he completes this program. The foster family would like to visit this child for his birthday in June. This trip will be a few nights in a hotel as well as gas to GA. Any funds that could go towards this trip would be greatly appreciated.

On June 26th, the Department of Children's Services and various local community partners are hosting the 2025 high school graduation celebration for youth impacted by the foster care system in Middle Tennessee. For many of these students, graduation is not a guaranteed milestone—yet this year, we are proud to celebrate approximately 100 graduates who have overcome significant challenges to walk the stage and receive their diplomas.

This event is more than a ceremony—it’s a moment of recognition, encouragement, and hope. To help make this day even more special, we are seeking door prizes to gift to these incredible young people. These prizes will serve as tokens of support and inspiration as they take their next steps into adulthood, whether that be college, vocational training, the workforce, or other life paths.

I have a 14 year old autistic child that is moving from a kinship placement to another kinship placement as he needs to be with family. The department has already placed his cousin there and he visits on weekends. He will be sharing a room with his other cousin. The family is in need of assistance with obtaining a bed for him and since the children will be sharing a room, a set of bunk beds would work perfectly for this family. Any assistance for this family is greatly appreciated.
