Mom has worked extremely hard over the past year to battle multiple barriers including healthy relationships, substance abuse and stability. She has been working full time, but due to past debts and financial hardships, she is struggling to pay her rent and secure the necessary childcare assistance needed due to the early hours of her employment. We are asking for any help toward the remainder of her rent ($150) and the cost of the early morning childcare ($250) so we can better set her up for a successful reintegration of her 11 year old daughter this month.
Thank you!

I am currently working with a mother of two with severe mental health issues. She has been unable to work and owes $2200 for her gas bill. They turned off her gas this week and will not turn it back on until she pays $1250. We were able to find a community resource that will pay $500 if we are able to come up with the remaining $750. The mother is working to get into vocational rehab at this time as well as additional mental health services. The gas in her home is for her stove, hot water heater, and heat. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thank you for considering this request and for all your support in our community! Updated on June 05, 2023 by an Agency Worker We still need help with this, any help will be appreciated.

This boy has been in care since he was 17 months old, and he will be turning 5 in August. He will be starting kindergarten in the fall, as his twin brother's needs can be better accommodated by the school district than by their preschool. His occupational therapist has recommended a summer therapy group for kindergarten readiness, with focus on social interactions, visual motor, fine motor, gross motor, and cognitive activities. This group is also being recommended for his twin brother, which has been submitted separately.

Carolyn, thank you so much for stepping in to help with this request. Pretty cool to see your name show up and for my church to take the lead on it. I'll keep you posted! Adrien.
The child has just moved in with her father, she had lived in Clay with her mother. She moved from Clay County to Cass County and could use some clothing items during this transition. The father last minute has taken her in, and has gotten somethings like a bed and bedding, but he needs some clothing like underwear, shorts, shirts, pants, and shoes/socks. Anything will help!
She wears an 18 in girls and 9 1/2 women's shoes Updated on May 23, 2023 by an Agency Worker This child is 5 - she wears 6 in girls clothes and 12 in kids shoes.
The mother of two of the children on my case load went down on her income when the boys were removed from her home. They had recently been placed with her for trial home visit for over 6 months. She previously received their SSI payments. She is now at risk of losing her housing if she is not able to continue to pay her rent. We are looking at placing the boys back in the home while her and her boyfriend work through some services. The boyfriend recently got a job and is hopeful to start contributing to the house hold expenses. She is needing help for her June rent. Her rent total is 950.
Gift cards are needed to help a relative placement feed and transport their family member to and from school who is in foster care. They have to drive from Lawrence to Shawnee two times a day in order to keep him in school!
This mother was working 2 jobs while pregnant and trying to save up before giving birth. Her son came early though and was very premature. She has stopped working to be with him at the hospital and is attempting to breastfeed him since that is best for all babies but especially premature babies, but she now cannot afford her rent. She will likely be off for at least 8 weeks. Her rent is $1,300.00.
The mother may be able to return to work after 8 weeks to maintain her livelihood, but in the meantime needs extra support since she had tried to plan for this event and the baby had other ideas about when to be born Updated on May 10, 2023 by an Agency Worker Mom now has an eviction notice with a baby about to come home from the NICU and this request is even more urgent. Help would allow this baby to go home with his mother.
An older youth had been placed with a family that was willing to complete guardianship for him so that he could leave care. Recently they decided not to complete guardianship with him and he and his younger siblings were asked to be removed from their home. This older youth was given a car by the previous placement but they took it back when they asked for the kids to be removed from their home. The youth in worried about transportation because he has a job that he really enjoys and he is trying to become self sufficient since guardianship is no longer an option. The youth has found a car that he would like to buy and is in the process of saving for the car. He could use some help meeting his goal of saving for the car. We do not want this youth to spend all of his savings on a car if we could assist him with getting a car.

With the weather getting nicer and the sun shining brighter, a sibling group of a 10-year-old girl, 9-year-old girl, and an 11-year-old boy would love to receive new bicycles with no training wheels for the Spring/summer. The current conditions of bikes that each of the siblings are very rusty, and the bike tires have been patched up multiple times. The children have had these bikes for over two years since coming into care and would greatly benefit from new bikes. The two younger girls are currently placed together, and the 11-year-old boy is currently placed in a foster home. The sibling group's case plan goal is to be adopted by their maternal aunt in Kansas. The boy typically visits his sisters every other weekend, and primarily bond and spend their time outside, playing with the other neighborhood kids.
