Mother is disabled with autistic son. She has found new housing in a better area for her family and is unable to work. She struggles with her son most times and CPS is involved in helping to secure services to meet his needs. Mom lives in an apartment and is now moving into a house with yard for him. Mom has paid her deposit and electricity but did not have a water bill in the apartment. Mom is unable to get water turned on in the home due to owing 776.00 on an old bill. Mom states she has 200.00 and is going to Salvation Army to see if they could help. Mom would still need 576.00 to have running water.

Mom has requested a full size bed frame, box spring and sheets for her child. Mom would also like to request 1-2 dressers for the child. The family already has a mattress. Mom works as a CNA and is in nursing school. Her child has recently been diagnosed with ADHD and has been having a lot of issues at school, causing a lot of stress on mom. The family has had issues paying their electric bill. Mom was going to get the child a new bed frame but instead had to put that money towards the electric bill. Contact worker for more information.

I am working with a mother and father who are working very hard to get their infant daughter back. They have been saving money to obtain a reliable vehicle. They currently have about $1500 to put towards a car. They are in need of help obtaining a vehicle. They are interested in developing a relationship with a church and are looking for a church to attend on a regular basis.

Hello, I have a family on my caseload who has one child on a trial home placement, but because her daughter is not officially in her custody her section 8 voucher does not recognize her being on the lease in the home. This has also caused the Landlord to increase the rent in this mother's home, and with the increase she was not able to budget everything. She is disputing the increase, however she still has to make payments so she stays up to date. She is needing help to get caught up so she can keep the home, and she is able to keep her daughter in the trial home. We also want to transition the other child home as well. I am requesting any help possible to help her to get caught up on her back rent. Updated on November 14, 2023 by an Agency Worker I would like to send an update asking if anyone can even donate a little bit, this family needs this help, and her section 8 is going to reset in December. At court today the payment was recognized that she will still owe this money due to the way things happened.

Family assisted with keeping 5 children out of foster care and took in two of the youngest children, a 4- year old girl and a 6- year old boy. The children's home was infected with mice and roaches. One of the children also has continuously gotten lice and it's unsure if they were coming from the home. The family is in need of beds for the children. Bunk beds may be an option.

Kim:
Can you tell me if the grandmother taking in these children is Florence Berry? If so, CHS will be delivering all the beds and bedding to her this weekend, as we also accepted the request for the 11 year old boy from the same family she also has. After talking with her, she told us she has taken in 2 of the other children as well so we bought beds, bedding for all of them, as well as for 1 of the grandchildren she already had.
Family's home is infested with mice and roaches. Children were placed with family members in hopes of cleaning out the home and making it a safe environment for them to return to. One of the children repeatedly gets lice and it's unsure if this is also coming from the home. The home needs extensive cleaning in addition to an exterminator. A dumpster would be helpful to the family in order to get rid of large items that may be infested. Cleaning supplies and/or services may be helpful as well. Also, hoping to provide a community to assist the family with future needs as the grandmother has custody of five grandchildren.

Family took in two little girls, ages 8 and 9 to prevent them from going into foster care. This family is in need of bunk beds for the girls as well as bedding and mattresses. Their previous home was infested with cockroaches and mice and they were unable to take bedding, etc with them.

Grandmother with custody of her 7- and 9-year-old grandchildren needs a refrigerator and/or a freezer. She utilizes SNAP and a local food pantry to provide food for the grandchildren, but cannot fit the pantry's frozen meats in her current freezer so that she can stretch the food out over the month. She also needs assistance with a $400 fee needed to have her drivers' license reinstated.

Mother has 7 children and has secured better housing in a better location still within the school district. This home is bigger so the children can have rooms. Mother has recently started working full time and the two smallest children are in daycare. The deposit on the new home is 2000.00. Mom has come up with 900.00 of the deposit needed to move in. DSS is asking for any help with meeting the remainder or helping with 500 of the deposit. Mom has indicated that the Landlord will break down the payment if she comes up with majority, but this could be a hardship in trying to pay rent and the added amount. Thanks so much Updated on November 13, 2023 by an Agency Worker Still needed

A mother whose 2-year-old child is in a kinship foster placement is working on services to be able to have custody returned to her. She has been very proactive with completing services and has gotten a job. Due to circumstances that led to the child's entry into foster care, the mother has been staying at a local domestic violence shelter for the past several months. Her length of stay is coming to an end and she is searching for permanent housing. A major barrier for her is lack of transportation. Most of the possible housing options are not within walking distance from work. She needs a vehicle or financial assistance toward obtaining a vehicle. She has her license and would be willing to work on a payment plan as opposed to or in addition to a donation. Having transportation would help her in maintaining work, expanding her housing possibilities, and having transportation for herself and her child to services and appointments.

Please consider providing a family with a few items to help them get through some difficult times. The family could use some trash cans to keep around their house to help maintain cleanliness. They could also use some dressers so that they can organize their clothes. The teenage daughter is running low on clothes as well. She wears a size 3X and size 20 in jeans. Her shoe size is 9 1/2. The mother is currently out of work due to health issues and therefore does not have the money to afford these things.
Please reach out to FSS Carroll with any request responses or questions as I will be out of the office for an extended period of time. His contact information is as follows:

The family is living in rental property. The refrigerator that she owned stopped working in April of 2023. She has been using a mini fridge. She moved into a new rental property that did not come with a stove and refrigerator. She is using microwave to prepare meals. Having the proper appliances to store and prepare meals would ensure the family receives the best nutritional value in food prep and safety in food storage.
I have been working with this family for a variety of issues. Single mother has 7 children of her own under the age of 18. The father of the children has been incarcerated for years. This mom has worked one-two jobs for the majority of her adult life. This mom is a CNA. She is in charge of providing for all her children, and her grandchild. This mom does have family support in town and does ask them for help here and there. The Department at one point also helped her pay some of her past due bills. Mom is trying to secure a new home that is in her budget, but is finding it difficult to secure a deposit, when she has to provide for the rest of her household. One of her children are participating in services, she is involved with the courts and is doing her best to complete her services. The mom has applied for section 8, public housing, income related housing and is stuck on how to secure housing moving forth. THIS MOM has struggled paying her landlord, but also has complained that the landlord has not kept their part, because there is always something that needs constant fixing in the house. The mom has also gotten in touch with code enforcement a few times. Mom is overwhelmed about housing and keeping up. Mom needs community support. Mom has seen a house that is in her budget, but the deposit is too high, and she cannot afford to pay it. Anyone can support mom, help with the deposit?

I can provide $500.00 towards rent assistance
I am working with a mother whose 4-year-old daughter is in foster care. The mother has been completing her services and cooperating with the Department. We are unable to place the child with the mother, even to begin overnight visits until she has a place to live that is safe and appropriate for the child. The mother has just located an apartment that if she is able to pay the deposit, she can move into it on 9/1/23. The mother is able to pay some towards the deposit with income from her two jobs, but cannot afford the full amount. I am requesting help with the remainder of the deposit in order for the mother to be able to move in on 9/1. This will allow overnight visits to begin and is one step closer to her daughter returning home! Thank you for your consideration.
