This was a new relative kinship placement from last week. This foster parent took placement of their 14 mo granddaughter during an emergency situation. The family is needing a crib and a car seat for the 14 month old child in their home. Obtaining these items will also be helpful to the child's parents if they are able to reunify. Please let me know if this is something that can be met.
Thank you!
Mother of three has taken placement of four children who are related to her. These children were removed from their past placement and in need of immediate care. Maintaining this placement would keep the children near family and reduce the trauma of relocation. In order to effectively keep them in her care she is in need of transportation that would accommodate all seven children, two of which are still in car seats and one in need of a booster seat. She currently drives a car that seats five and is unable to coordinate transportation to and from school or even take everyone out for fast food. DHS is hoping to at least be able to assist foster mom with a significant down payment or tax and title for her to purchase a vehicle that would meet their needs. However ideas for assistance of any type would be welcome.
This is for a relative kinship home. The family has 2 boys, ages 1 and 2 and they are in need of both diapers and pull ups. The 2 year old is just now being introduced to pull ups and is not in them full time. They need pampers size 5 and 7 and Pull ups size 4/5 T. The Price estimate is based on Walmart prices for a an estimate of approximately $40 per package. The children have very sensitive skin so please get the Pampers brand as that is what is known to be safe for them. The price count is based on the cheapest per diaper for Walmart and if that is too much a smaller count size will be acceptable. While Diaper wipes were not requested and not included in the price, I am sure those would be greatly appreciated.
Young mother is trying the get her driver's license reinstated. The Department of Public Safety requires that she take a drug and alcohol assessment to do so. The cost for the assessment is $160. Mother is being very vigilant is engaging with her treatment plan for the Department and has been testing negative for our treatment plan. However, the DPS requires a very specific drug and alcohol assessment in order to issue a driver's license for individuals with prior convictions.
I am working with a foster family who has placement of an 11 month old boy. He is becoming mobile, and the family has been able to obtain some safety devices for the home to help with physical safety. However, the foster family is still lacking a baby gate and has requested assistance in getting one. The space where the baby gate is needed is 90 inches in length, and would greatly help this family. We appreciate any assistance that can be offered.
I am currently working with a maternal grandmother who has taken placement of her two young grandchildren, ages 17 months and 3 months. This foster mother/grandmother is in need of a dresser to help store all of the baby items such as clothing, diapers, wipes, etc. for the children. She has utilized some of the space she has, but is currently folding clothes and lining them along the wall as she does not have anywhere to put them. This grandmother would greatly appreciate assistance in obtaining a dresser so she has a place to put the children's items. Thank you in advance for whatever assistance can be provided.

We have a safety plan monitor who has been a great support for our family. The safety plan monitor has been providing transportation for a medical fragile child to all her appointments. The safety plan monitor also provides transportation for the parents to their service providers. We would like to provide the safety plan monitor with a gas card to help alleviate some of her financial burdens. Thank you
Minor child is 5 years old and she often struggles sleeping at night. She would wake up and go to her grandmothers room every night. When discussing reasons to her waking up, she was hesitant and didn’t want to talk about it. She did disclose that she was scared and wanted to be with her grandmother. Minor child talks about wanting a nightlight to help her sleep at night. She wants a colorful night light maybe even a nigh light that shines to the ceiling to comfort her throughout the night.
A single mother in need of financial assistance.
A single mother is in need of help paying for her storage unit. She has been past due for a payment for awhile now due to a lengthy custody battle. This mother has put all of her funds into a lawyer to help her case against her abuser. This mother moved in with her mother in order to cut costs, and needs this storage unit to hold all of her family's belonging. This single mother got behind on payments, and just needs help getting back on top of things.
An aunt has taken in a 16-year-old boy alongside her three teen boys and plans to enter a guardianship for her nephew. She's also taking care of her sibling after open-heart surgery in the home and supports her other siblings with complicated medical needs. She works more than 40 hours every week in healthcare. She's not yet started receiving foster care payments and she's entering the fourth month caring for him. It would be a blessing to support this aunt/mother as she feeds four teen boys and supports her adult siblings.
Foster mother took in a sibling of two teenage children she already had placed in her home. The child had been inpatient for 9 months. He had lost all of his possessions, including all of his clothing. He came with several jackets, but he has no clothes. Foster mother has spent a lot of her own money providing him a bed. We are requesting some help with getting this child some shoes, pajamas, and other clothing items. She has also purchased him a backpack and essentials for school. She took him shopping, but is having issues finding sizes and clothing and shoes that fit him properly due to his size. This is causing her to spend a lot of extra that she does not have at this time buying special sizes. Foster mother is need of a dresser for the child, clothing items, or help with food so she can continue to purchase him the specialized sizes that he needs.
