A single mother needs help with furnishing her new apartment so that she can work towards reunifying with her two young girls. The mother needs 2 small dressers of 1 larger dresser to store the children's clothes in. The mother is working hard to be able to expand her visits and will hopefully be able to have the girls have overnight visits with her very soon.
This Park Hill student and his mother were involved in a situation that caused them need to leave their home to stay safe. They are currently staying in a hotel, and are hoping to find permanent housing soon. The hotel is working with the family to have a low rate, but money is getting tight. They are also in need of food, but the hotel they are staying in does not have a kitchen, so mom has to be strategic in what they get. In addition to that, the family runs a food truck, and is doing several events in the next couple weeks, and needs access to a kitchen once a week to bake to prep for that week's event. Mom is working in addition to doing all of these other things, and would be grateful for any help she can get.

A pregnant mom and her family are in need of assistance. They began a payment program when the electric bills were high last winter and have a notice of payment due for $501.44, due April 7th. This is adding stress to the family and although they are employed, they are taking care of an older mother and their child. Any help is much appreciated!

A husband and wife just settled into Kansas City a couple months ago and are trying to get on their feet. They have a partial rent bill they are needing assistance on so they can get caught up. They have two little boys and they are still in process of getting employed. Helping them with rent will help them stay in their current place and remain stable.
A student is enrolled in a dual credit course at our high school. A student found out yesterday that since their family can not pay the dual credit fee they will be dropped from this class unable to earn college credit. Dad already works two jobs to support the family and won't have money to pay this fee tomorrow. The student is incredibly bright and is passing this course with flying colors and wants to be able to earn this college credit.

I have two girls who were disrupted from their original foster home and now live with their aunt in her one bedroom apartment. The girls sleep in their aunt's bed while their aunt sleeps in the living room, and we're requesting potential help in getting a bunk bed for the girls to sleep in and call their own.
We have a 12 year old female who is placed in a residential facility in Columbia, Missouri. Her family lives in Kansas City. Her sister and her aunt would like to be able to go and see their sister and bring her back on weekends once a month so that she can see her 5 other siblings. Family is really important to our youth and her being in Columbia has made it hard for her family to go see her. Her family does not have the financial ability to make it to and from Columbia often.
The request is for gas cards so that the aunt or sister can go pick their sister up once a month for a pass to see her family. I can keep the gas cards at my office and provide them to the aunt or sister once a month.

DCCCA is working with a mother who has been homeless and living in a hotel for seven months. The family has been able to obtain housing and will be ready to move in this weekend. The last obstacle is paying off past due utilities so mom can connect electricity at the new home. Two of the children have been living with family and friends because there was not enough space at the hotel. Having this cost covered not only gets mom out of the hotel room, it will put the family back together under one roof. Mom has contributed what she can to the bill and has obtained assistance from community resources and this amount is what remains after other resources have been tapped out. Thank you in advance for helping this family get into a home and be reunited!
We are working with a single mother who was unable to make her full rent payment this month and are asking for assistance in meeting this need. Mom put in all see could and made efforts to access community resources and received what she could from other agencies and now we are asking if someone in the community could bridge the gap and cover the remaining $500.
A foster parent needs assistance with a playpen with a Bassett attached, Twin size bed with rails, and a car seat (Grow with me from infant to toddler). This family is new to fostering a child and needs help to make the life of the child comfortable .
This client has a 5 month old and 2 year old child who are currently in CD custody but placed in the home with both she and the children's father. The mother is unemployed and remains home with both children. She is seeking employment to help out with the bills as CD will provide her family with daycare. The father goes to work. However the income isn't steady as the father is a construction worker and jobs are not only weather dependent but availability dependent. The father recently lost his mother who left behind a house that requires a monthly mortgage payment. The loan is through a company called "Mr. Cooper". The origianl loan amount on the home was $32,874.36 and the pay off amount is $51,550.21. The amount has increased drastically due to non-payment and late fees. This family is at risk of losing their home. This mother is very close to reunify with her children but in order for the children to remain in the parents home, stable housing is imperative. This family is at risk of losing their home as they've not been able to make a payment since December 2022. The requested amount includes the principal, escrow, and intrest. The loan company has requested a payment in the amount of: $1,438.75 no later than 3/24/2023. Please help this family maintain this home so that the children may remain with their parents.

I am working with a low-income family who has a five year old with significant developmental delays. The five year old is in need of extensive dental treatment. Because of his special needs and the amount of work he needs, he will need to have anesthesia. We have referred the family to a number of dentists in the area and have tried to find a dentist that can offer the services at a discounted price. However, due to the nature of his disability, he requires a dentist with a special skill set to work with his sensory issues (tactile defensiveness, sensitivity to touch, etc). We were happy to find a dentist that is a good fit for the child and who has agreed to discount his fees from 6,009 to 3,000 dollars, making the total cost $3,000. The child is in extreme pain which has affected his ability to eat and participate in classroom activities. The family is trying to raise money to help with the cost. Any amount donated as soon as possible would be super helpful for this family. We are also open to any referrals to great dentists that may offer services to this child at a lower cost. Thanks in advance for considering this request.

I work for a low-income housing apartment complex, and we are in need of a bookshelf. We have been focusing on raising the literacy rate among our residents and were donated numerous boxes of books to help with this endeavor. We have also started English as a Second Language (ESL) classes for those who want to learn more English. Because of these classes and the donated books, we need a bookshelf to store the materials and books that our residents are now learning to read! Receiving this bookshelf would help us continue to serve our residents in an organized manner.
Special Instructions:
The bookshelf can be dropped off at the apartment complex office.

IL is a 17 year old kiddo who came into Children's Division custody due to parental addiction and then abandonment. IL struggles with anxiety and and stress related depression, and needs a really good home. IL loves to listen to music, he loves drawing, reading and sports. IL needs a good stable and loving home where he can finish school and make a plan for his future. Unfortunately, teenagers are really hard to place. We literally called 24 counties looking for a good home. We have *finally* found a great home for IL - but they can't take him yet - because they don't have enough bed space. We are asking for a bunkbed - so that there is room to accomodate the addition of IL into this great home. We need to place IL immediately - so - if you can help - it would be greatly appreciated!!

We have an 11 month old child and their twin brother who is placed with a relative. They are in need of a double stroller so that they can push both children around at the same time.
