Two single moms, each with 2 children, are in need of extra support. Although they are both employed, they struggle financially to make ends meet. They are in need of basic furniture items for their home, including a couch, a kitchen table with 6 chairs, a vacuum cleaner, and clothing storage items. A plastic dresser or storage cart for each child would be ideal. The children include a girl (age 10) and three boys (ages, 7, 4, & 4). Thank you for any help you may be able to provide. Having a table and chairs in time for Thanksgiving would be a blessing.

Single mom is a relative placement for her young niece, who is in foster care. The aunt has a car repair that needs to be done and desperately needs assistance. If there is anyone who can do the repair or help to pay for the repair, it would be greatly appreciated, as the aunt does not have the money. This car is the families only personal method of transportation. This would help the aunt to get to work, get the children to and from school, to therapy appointments and other necessary appointments. The aunt has gotten an estimate from an auto repair shop. The diagnosis is "leaking antifreeze from the oil cooler." The estimate repair cost is $718.40. Thank you for your consideration to helping this family.
Asking for a toddler/convertible car seat and a highchair
Young adult was in a car accident and has been unable to work. She will need a new car seat for her child because the seat was in the car at the time of the accident. She also needs a highchair because she was recently referred to an eating specialist for her son and told it would be best for him to have a highchair to eat.
A mother has been having a hard time trying to provide for her son and needs assistance with rent. She owes $600 for this month and has just moved into her new place. Any assistance would be appreciated. This would free up financial resources for the family.

KCMO Angels just received a referral for a biological mother who has worked so hard to achieve reunification and currently just got her kids back for a trial home visit. She was referred to our Love Box program for being able to use some emotional support as she adjusts to parenting two children with special needs again. She does have some limited family support, however that support has been somewhat exhausted due to the length of the foster care case. She has worked very hard to maintain sobriety and obtain stable housing for this trial home visit with her children to be possible.
When completing her intake today to get her matched with a Love Box leader here at KCMO Angels, we just fell in love with her dedication to make reunification work as she is adamant to not lose her children again. We are striving to get her match before her case closes and her children are released from care while she is eligible. When talking with her today and inquiring for any holiday wants, needs so we could bless her in that way while she is on our waiting list, her only request was a Christmas tree with colored lights for her two young children. We are calling on our amazing Careportal community to help make this happen!

Local family of 5 needing assistance with a leaky windshield. Mom shared that when it rains, rain just pours in to her front windshield of her truck. She showed me where you can push on the windshield and it moves, nearly popping out. The family does not have a garage to park in and parents are very concerned about upcoming freezing temps causing even more damage and safety concerns. Mom called and got a quote from Cameron Glass.

Two children have recently been placed with a relative. The family is in need of two car seats for the children. One child is 7 months old and the other child is 2 years old. The 7 month old is currently in an infant seat, but will need a rear facing car seat in the near future. A car seat that is convertible for the infant would most likely be most beneficial. The two year old is still rear facing at this time. These car seats will ensure that the children are able to travel safely.

We are hoping to find a generous donor for a deserving family whose 12-year-old daughter who struggles with significant mental health disorders and is supported by our programs. There are five children in this single-family home including a set of twin one year old babies. The family is on a very tight budget and is in desperate need for two highchairs to assist the youngest to engage and sit at the table with the family during meals. Mom is working at Pizza Hut but making a purchase like this is difficult on her budget. Mom is hoping to find a donor willing to purchase two new highchairs (Cosco Simple Fold High Chair, Elephant puzzle) for their family. We have noted details of the type of highchair the young mother needs for the twins.
Your ongoing support of the families we serve is greatly appreciated!
Our building is needs some additional pairs of sweat pants. We keep a stock of sweatpants available to students who have a clothing emergency at school. This is often used by students with disabilities or students that have a hard time getting weather appropriate clothing. We try to get these items returned to be washed for multiple uses, but on occasion they are taken and not returned.

We are desperately asking for donations and/or someone that can provide hair care services to one of our children currently in need. Over the last few months this youth has been through a lot and is now stable enough to work on her own health and wellbeing. This youth's natural hair is currently severely damaged and we have received a quote from a local salon for $900 to fix the damage and redo her sisterlocks.
The child will be starting a club volleyball team in November. The foster home mentioned needing some help with the fees. I wanted to reach out to see if anyone would be willing to donate to help this foster child participate in a sport she is very passionate about. She stated that volleyball makes her feel normal and being able to be apart of a team. She recently did not make her school volleyball team and her foster home wants to give her the opportunity to still play this sport and be apart of a team.
Please let me know if anyone has additional questions- I would be very happy to answer them!
this child will be going on a band trip to Florida in March of 2024. This will be a great opportunity for her to explore the world and experience new things with her classmates. This money will be used for transportation, lodging, and tickets to the parks as she will go to at Disney World. Placement will be paying for meals and spending money for her.
