I am currently working with a family in need. A family friend has assumed the role of temporary legal guardian for the child following the mother’s recent incarceration. She has taken on the responsibility of meeting the child’s basic needs and ensuring her overall well-being during this transitional period.

At present, the child is sleeping on a makeshift bed, as the caregiver works to secure appropriate sleeping arrangements. Due to the child’s rapid growth, the provision of a crib would greatly improve her safety and comfort during sleep.

The caregiver has expressed a strong commitment to supporting the mother throughout her incarceration and has consistently demonstrated herself to be a reliable and compassionate support for the child. Her involvement has provided much-needed stability and reassurance to the family during this difficult time.

Client is a single mother of 4 minor children and 1 adult child with disabilities. Client is unemployed at the moment and has difficulties providing a high chair for her toddler. Client is requesting a high chair for one year old son for self-feeding support. Providing toddler with a high chair will support developmental needs in enabling child to rapidly learn how to feed themselves, give him the liberty of exploring, playing, and grabbing dishes and utensils, as well as eating their favorite foods by themselves. Having a high chair will support child's posture while eating, upright seating helps prevent choking. Thank you in advance for your consideration, we appreciate your support.

The children are in need of a trio stroller. The children are ages 2 and 1 year old. The one year olds are twins. The caregiver travels to doctor appointments with all three children and is in need of a trio stroller. Caregiver is reporting that the children are growing fast and it is becoming challenging to transport all three of them to the minors CHLA appointments where one of the minor’s is receiving treatment for her hematomas. The caregiver does not work stays home with the children due to children having regional center services multiple times a week. Caregiver is also a single foster parent and is unable to purchase a stroller where all 3 children can fit.

The newborn child is currently in placed in a foster home. The maternal grandparents have expressed an interest and commitment to having the child in their care, but they are in need of a crib and other baby essentials. The maternal grandfather has custody of the half-sibling and would like for both children to reside together. The maternal grandfather shared that his monthly income has been reduced since the LA fires as he provided maintenance to homes in the Pasadena area. Maternal grandmother is currently not working. Items being provided to the grandparents would allow for the Department to place the child on emergency basis as the grandparents work on completing the RFA requirements.

Single mom is working very hard to take care of her two kids, 16 years old and 6 years old. She recently secured an apartment, but is struggling with move-in costs. Financial assistance is needed to help keep this family together in a safe place. $1,500 would be greatly appreciated to help keep this family out of the system. Thank you!

A resilient young woman in foster care made the brave decision not to return to her abusive mother and stepfather. In her current placement, she brought up her grades, built a plan for her future, and found a lifelong family. Now, she’s moving into her own place through a Transitional Housing Program (THP), having been selected over 25 other applicants.

Because her placement was in a small town with no job opportunities, she wasn’t able to save money and still needs help securing a few basic necessities - bedding, silverware and knife set. She’ll also be starting college soon and is in need of a laptop to complete her schoolwork, apply for jobs, and build her independence.

This young woman has done everything right—she’s worked hard, stayed focused, and created a future she can be proud of. A little support right now could make all the difference in helping her begin this next chapter with confidence, dignity, and the tools she needs to succeed.

Mother has DCFS history as a child and wants to break the cycle and be a good parent to her 3 children. Mother and the children struggled with housing for the last few years. Now mother was able to move into an apartment. The family has been able to afford basic necessities such as clothing and food but have not been able to purchase beds for the children. They are in need of 1 twin size bunk bed frame and 2 twin mattresses for the 2 eldest children and 1 toddler size bed frame and 1 toddler mattress for the youngest child.

Our teen client and her single mother form a family where the mother is the sole financial provider. Mother not only works but also attends college, all for the betterment of her family's future. Our client's mother is in need of a queen size bed frame and mattress. Additionally, the mother is requesting a gift card to Walmart. This will enable our client to purchase new clothes, a necessity as she prepares to start college and apply for jobs. Your support for this family would be invaluable.

By helping provide these essential items, we are empowering this mother to focus on her continued progress, strengthening family stability, and most importantly, ensuring her children can rest peacefully each night in a space of their own.

Please help a young mother reunify with her children. The mother worked really hard to correct the issues that resulted in her children's removal. She is doing great and it is expected that she will reunify with her children next month. Mother has been taking the situation seriously, and has taken all classes the court asked her to take. She regularly utilizes the skills learned in classes with her children during visits. Mother is requesting assistance with purchasing a dresser, beds and mattresses so that when her children return they could be comfortable and independent in the bedroom when they return home. This would allow mother to ensure both children have a good night’s sleep every night. Mother is also asking for assistance on a dresser to keep their clothes and belongings organized.

This young man is a junior in high school. The student lives between his parents house and grandparents house. His grandmother has been experiencing some health challenges since that end of last year and this has taken a noticeable on this young man. The added cost of medical expenses for grandmother has left nothing to go towards extra curricular activities. As a result the student has begun to sell snack items at school to help support himself. This young man would benefit greatly by attending summer camp and be encouraged in his pursuit of high school graduation. This opportunity would be a light at the end of a very dark for this young man and serve as a reminder that hard work pays off not just in the future but now.
