Please help the parent reunify with their infant 6-month-old son. The parents want to start overnight unmonitored visits with the baby soon but they need help getting a crib. Both parents are enrolled and participating in services and trying to do their best in order to reunify with their child. The parents were homeless before and recently found housing but do not have many items/furniture. The parents live together and are in a relationship. The parents do not have a crib or mattress for the crib. The parents are working towards reunifying but they can't have visits in the home without a crib for safety reasons. The parents need a crib and a mattress for a baby boy.

Single mother is requesting clothes and shoes for herself and her son. Mom is size 2XL in shirts and prefers sweat pants and sweat shirts/sweat suits. Son is size 10-12 in clothes (needs everyday wear) and size 6 in boys shoes. Thank you for considering this request :-)

After surviving abuse and escaping her trafficker, this survivor has a chance to start a new life. Nine years ago, she became homeless after losing her job and being evicted with her young son. With nowhere stable to go, she sent her son to stay with a friend temporarily. During this vulnerable time, she fell into the hands of a trafficker. That same friend later convinced her to sign over guardianship of her child, which became permanent. After suffering a brutal assault at the hands of her trafficker, she was determined to break away and rebuild her life. Despite her securing employment, the cost of child support and housing costs, made reuniting with her son difficult. She entered the Orange County Rescue Mission, completed court-ordered therapy, parenting classes, and drug testing, earned her GED, and enrolled in college, all while fighting for custody for her son. Today, she has been approved for Section 8 housing and finally has a safe, stable apartment. However, before she can move in and receive custody of her son, she needs a few essential items: a refrigerator and a mattress. With your support, we can help provide these basics, and with them, restore hope, dignity, and the foundation for a fresh start for her and her son. The family is low-income and seeking support bedding the for children. By assisting the family with this request, it will eliminate the stress for the father on how he will obtain the information. Bedding for all three children twin comforter sets, pillows, blankets, twin waterproof mattress covers, and sheets.

Client is a single mother of 2 girls who is currently experiencing significant hardship. Client was forced to move out of her home and into her vehicle due to mold test confirmed the presence of severe mold in the residence. Client was advised not to take any belongings with her, as the mold had spread to her clothing. Client has been receiving services from SHIELDS for the past 7 months and has been actively trying to access housing shelter. However, the emotional toll of grieving her husband's loss, combined with living in her vehicle, has made it difficult for her to maintain mental health stability. Despite these challenges, client is seeking employment but needs support for clothing for her daughters. Clothing sizes are Tops & bottoms: 10/12, shoes 2 Youth, tops & bottoms: 14 Youth, shoes 3 Youth

Children came into system because of mother's mental health and substance use. The father was found and happy to reunite with his young children because mother had kept him away from them. After many good visits, the court released the children to the father but his home is small and there are 2 adults and 3 other children already in the home. He desperately needs a bunk bed for his children. DCFS has been promising but it hasn't happened. Also, his rent was recently raised and his wife lost her job. A gift of bed and mattresses would be incredibly helpful for this family.

The foster mother is recovering from a recent stroke and is caring for a child with severe autism who requires 24/7 supervision. Due to her health and caregiver responsibilities, she is unable to work and has difficulty assessing consistent, healthy food. Providing gift cards, or groceries would help maintain stability of this successful placement. The estimated cost for a month worth of groceries is $700.

This request is being made on behalf of a client who was recently impacted by the recent wildfires close to Palisades Fire. The client, 39 year old male fortunately was able to get out to safety but unfortunately his home was destroyed and burned to the ground. He is currently taking residence at a hotel temporarily, first entering there just a couple days ago. The client mentioned that he would only be staying there a few days longer before having to leave with nowhere else to go. The client stated they lost all their personal belongings, only being left with one outfit of clothing. The client mentioned also not really having the finances for housing, much less anything else that he needs to replace. With this request hopefully it will assist him in finding a place to live and assist with housing expenses such as, deposit, first months rent and moving costs, other personal items. Ultimately, it will help him get started to get back on his feet. Thank you

A devoted grandmother is stepping in to provide emergency care for her 1.5-year-old grandson after he was removed from his home. To prevent him from being placed in a non-family foster home, she has been asked to take him into her care immediately. The baby is the son of her eldest son, and while she is eager to welcome him, the unexpected responsibility has created a financial strain.

With two children already in her household, she is in urgent need of essential supplies for her grandson, including clothing (socks and pajamas), diapers, wipes, sippy cups, and groceries. Unfortunately, it will take 2-3 months before she receives financial assistance for his care.

DCFS is preparing to transfer the baby from San Diego to her home right away. Your kindness and generosity can help ensure that this grandmother has the support she needs to provide a stable and loving environment for her grandson during this critical time.
