I have a bio family who is in need of immediate assistance with an energy bill. They have received a notice of disconnection in 5 days. There are two kids in the home and mom is expecting but having a difficult pregnancy. As she is of advance age she is struggling with high blood pressure brought on by her pregnancy. She is unable to work full days and medical team is encouraging bed rest. She shared that she is overwhelmed and terrified thinking about having to take an extended maternity leave without pay and having looming bill over the families head. In applying for LIHEAP they instructed her to wait until receiving a disconnect notice from the energy company but then was later denied and now is left without a means to pay.
"I just can't stop worrying about everything which is exactly why I can't get the blood pressure under control, the only cure is delivery but that 15 weeks away. I can't continue like this I really need someone help."
This mother has overcame so many barrier to provide for her children. She has completely turned her life around and has never stopped loving and caring for them. She has always keep the children's best interest at hear even when it was not favorable outcome for her. She completed substance use treatment and has been sober for over a year now. She is a wonderful person who just need some extra support at this time.
ANY AND ALL HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!

There is a young boy who is needing school uniforms that fit him and he feels comfortable in. This young boy has grown exponentially since last year when his single parent bought him new uniforms. It would be greatly appreciated by both the young student and the parent to get him the uniform that he needs. He is needing a couple pairs of pants and two shirts. The parent has provided a link for the clothing items.

This mother had her child placed out of her home but has since done everything that she needed to do to regain placement. The mother has been working hard on her mental health and has been able to identify a few things that would help her get her selfcare in and her child to have his needs meet as well. The winter months are going to be rough on her due to her not getting all the hours she was promised at her job. She also lost a lot of money when she was out on medical leave for a broken foot. She could use a planner to stay organized, a mini trampoline to burn energy and a hot wheels track to keep her son occupied in positive activities. Thank you!

Biomother needs help paying for part-time daycare/preschool for her oldest child. The deposit is $200 and then $135 weekly. We are asking for help with the initial deposit and the first week of payment if possible.
The family in need currently has 4 children placed. Each child has been placed in the home for over a year. This family is willing to accept two additional children. One of which is a sibling to one of the children already in the home. Another is a 15 y/o child who was abandoned by her mother. She's eager to attend school as she's been homeschooled since kindergarten. In order for the child to attend school she has to reside in a home/district. This placement provider welcomes both children with open arms but is unable to provide a living space until additional bedding is in place. Both children need placement and stability ASAP; this home would be a great fit for each of the children. Please consider. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you! Updated on September 07, 2023 by an Agency Worker The placement provider sent her most recent utility bill from Evergy. The total of the bill as of 9/6/2023 is a grand total of $1,185.68. However, any amount shared would be appreciated. Thank you!

There is a family who is facing shut off of their utilities and risk falling behind on their mortgage payment due to owing back money on their past bills on their utilities. They were trying to supply diapers and food for their kids without having them realize the situation they were in. They did not want especially their eldest child to see they were struggling and wanted to have some normalcy in the home. The breadwinner of the family, the father, lost his job at Watersee, and he was laid off due to a bankruptcy and he was left to figure things out for the sake of his kids. With the kids going back to school, they had to get some help from their parents to buy some supplies for the kids. The father had an interview yesterday for a new job, and he has a few lined up this week that he is hoping he can get so he can start working as soon as possible. He worries he will not get a paycheck in time to pay before they get cut off and then he will have fees to turn them back on that he cannot afford. He wants so hard to provide for his family and even felt shameful asking for help, but he said it has gotten to a point where he had nowhere else to turn to. These parents are working tirelessly to make ends meet for their children they are hoping to start trial home visits soon and stress the importance of having the basics for their kids. This family risks having their utilities shut off and does not want his kids to see his mom and dad struggling. Updated on September 08, 2023 by an Agency Worker Please call biological father at(###) ###-#### for specifics on paying utilities.

Placement home. This placement has BED BUGS and needs to be treated as soon as possible. The children in the home need this done for their safety. This is a really good medical and behavioral placement. If you are able to help this child in his placement, please reach out to help. Thank you.
We are asking for help with rent to stabilize a family to prevent two children from coming into care. Mom works a full time job and is helping her two older children who are in college. Mom also has two younger children that are in the home that she provides care to. Last month, DCF redirected the SSID payments for the teenager that was taken into care. This caused mom to have to work overtime to try to make sure she was able to make rent. However, she has voiced that despite taking the max amount of shifts and working another part time job, she is unable to make her rent for this month and will become homeless with the two other children. Mom does have a plan moving forward but is struggling to make up for the last minute loss of the SSID payments. We are asking for any help we can to either fully cover, or go towards so we can make sure we prevent mom and the two younger children going homeless.
Daughter has very demanding mental health needs which has caused Dad to lose two jobs this year. Daughter needs a long term residential program but it is not covered by Mom's insurance. It would be covered by Dad's COBRA insurance but they cannot afford to pay for the COBRA and everything thing else that needs to be paid for. Daughter is currently at a short term facility, but the staff believes she needs a long term treatment facility. Mom works and Dad is looking for employment. Their immediate financial need is the electricity bill with Evergy. It is $1600 and they have a notice of termination for 09/09/2023. The family is doing everything that they can to get the daughter help, they have just hit a hard time. The total bill is a lot of money, but any assistance would go a long way in helping the family get daughter help and the family closer to financial stability.

Mother is a single parent raising 3 bio-children (one with complex medical needs) and 2 children from a previous relationship (that parent left the children to my client, and she is their only source of stability and support-receives no financial support for them). Mother used to work full time but has had multiple debilitating health conditions that have left her unable to work. She and the children are now in transitional living having survived homelessness. They have little income and are trying to save up for their own housing again. Unfortunately, their dryer quit working. It's unsafe for mother to drive anywhere. Even if they could get a ride, they don't have funding to go to a laundromat. Their housing complex does not have a clothesline. She has tried to call United Way for help with no luck. Thanks for any support you can provide!

Hello, I have a child who is developmentally behind and in a residential setting where she does not get many new items. Myself, the case manager and the staff at the residential program were exploring ways to motivate her to meet her treatment goals, as well as reward her. She has recently been asking every adult she is around if they have any Monster High or Rainbow High Dolls that she can take back to the facility. We are thinking if we can get her one or two of these dolls, it could help her overall progress in the program.
The parents 18 year old child is in a DMH placement in Warrensburg due to mental cognitive abilities (severely lower functioning). The parents reside in South KC. The mother is only able to work weekends and the father is off work due to shoulder surgery. He is awaiting a decision on workman's comp and so he has not been able to provide income for his family due to this. The parents are struggling financially and often are having to choose between gas in their only vehicle or groceries. This has resulted in them not being able to visit their daughter as often as they would like, given their fixed income and the current price of gas. CD is seeking help with providing the parents gift card(s) to a gas station (minimum request of $100, CD and the family would graciously accept more money towards this) in order to help them with the cost of gas to see their daughter.

I have a Relative Placement that just moved to Overland Park who is in need of some help since moving in! We are getting close to adoption and want to preserve this placement but as of right now there are some safety concerns because of the state of the house since the moved in. Traci is a single parent who has already adopted two of her nephews and hold family as a major priority. She has just been a bit overwhelmed and unable to keep up with four messy school age kiddos during summer break.
We are in need of a few volunteer cleaning services and someone willing to assist in putting together some dressers that she bought for the children's room.
