I have a single mother who currently in between employment. She recently had her children returned to her home/care full time after an out of home placement. She reports that the family member that had the children did not return any of the clothing to her that belonged to the children. She has been utilizing the same couple outfits for the children for the week.

5-year-old male- Kids 5/6 in shirts and pants, underwear-size 5, shoes- kids 13/1 3-year-old female- 4t in shirts and pants, underwear- size 4, shoes- kids 9 1 year old female- 12/18-month shirt and pants, shoes size 2

Mom has moved into a new home. During home visit it was noted that the children in the home do not have beds. Mom was informed that the children have to have beds in the home to meet their needs. Mom does not have a lot of money left due to moving into the home. DSS is asking for help with beds for the three children. Thanks

Mother just moved into a new home and has 3 children. When visiting the home, it was observed that none of the children have beds and are sleeping in pallets on the floor. Mom was informed that they need their own beds. Mom does not have a lot of money left over after moving into the home. FSS is asking for 3 twin beds for the family to help Mom be able to keep the children in the home. Thanks

We recently became involved with a family and their 3 children after the father unexpectedly passed away. The mother is now trying to fix her home on her own but is struggling with resources to get the materials needed. She has her father who will help her with the physical work itself, but is needing assistance on getting materials. The trailer had a leak that ruined their subflooring and it is currently unsafe for the children to walk on. The leak also caused black mold so parts of the walls had to be removed so those are needing replaced as well. We’re hoping that a gift card for either Lowes or Home Depot could be provided so that mom can get her kids back into their home and back to some normalcy after losing their father.

A father is in need of help. Two of his children were removed from the home due to the condition of the house. The roof needs to be fixed. The parent needs assistance. DSS has paid for the supplies for the roof. He also needs elements or something is wrong with the elements, or needs a new hot water heater. The hot water cuts off after 8 minutes. If someone or someone's could help with these issues, the parent would be so grateful and would allow the children to come back home and attend school again.

A single mother with four children in foster care is in need of help purchasing a bus pass for transportation to visits with the children at the DSS office. The total cost of the bus pass is $56. The bus pass would also aid her in maintaining the services on her service plan for the goal of return home.

Mom staying at Kingston Inn w/ boys & father of unborn child; $325 per week. She’s 4.5 months pregnant. No job. No transportation. Paying child support & Kingston Inn, so money is tight. She’s not receiving child support as the father of her boys is in jail. I gave her an application for SNAP & Childcare.

Mom needs diapers (size 7), wipes, baby gate, mattress (boys popped their air mattress), toys/activities for boys in limited space. She would LOVE them to each have a Leap Frog, but that’s a long shot. 😊

Current CPS case open concerning Mother who had substance exposed child. Child is currently placed with Grandmother, and Father has filed for custody. Father wants to be able to pick up child for visitation but needs a car seat for the infant along with a crib for his home. Any thing to help out would be appreciated. Thanks

A mother recently out of the hospital requests help with securing a bus pass so that she can attend substance abuse treatment and regain custody of her son.

You have helped this family before. The parent is unemployed but is still looking for work. She filed for disability but has to wait 4-6 months to hear back. She needs assistance paying her bills.

Single mother in need of groceries for her 2 children after there was fraudulent activity of her SNAP benefits leaving her with no ability to provide her children with food. This was confirmed by DSS employees. There are no known food allergies.

You have helped this family before. A grandmother is taking care of her grandson due to her daughter having some cognitive comprehension problems. They moved from Buena Vista due to rent being expensive, among other reasons. Grandmother, daughter and grandson are staying with an elderly man. Her daughter is staying on the couch, the grandson has the room to himself and she is in her daughters room. The elderly man bought her a tiny house which she is fixing up, so her daughter can have her room back. She needs someone to put up insulation in her tiny home, so everyone can have their own room. If anyone is available to do this, free of charge, I know she would be grateful for this. (She has the insulation and needed materials).
