We have a single mom that is behind on her MLGW bill, she is currently pregnant with a one-year-old and a two-year-old. She has been searching for a job and cannot find any work. She has been on several job interviews but has not gained employment.

We are reaching out with heavy hearts to share that a family is in urgent need of rental assistance. Recently, the family faced an unforeseen hardship due to a recent hospitalization, and as a result, they have fallen into a difficult financial situation. Despite these challenges, the family is determined to keep their 17-year-old grandchild in school so they can finish out this school year.

Right now, they are $550 short on rent, and with the threat of eviction looming this coming Monday, we are desperately seeking any support that can help them stay afloat during this tough time. Your generosity, no matter how small, could make a profound difference in their lives and provide the stability they desperately need.

The family consists of a mother and three children ages ranging from 6-12 years old. The family has had trouble with stability and has moved frequently due to inability to maintain their payments for rent. The family has just moved again and is in need of new bedding for the children's beds. The children's beds were observed to only have sheets and no comforters or pillows. Mother would appreciate any assistance to ensure the children have appropriate sleeping arrangements.

We currently have a family who has 4 children. The family fell on hard times due to making an agreement with someone for a new place. The family paid the deposit to someone, and the person ran off with their deposit backing out of the deal. The family is currently now staying in a motel where they are paying week to week on Wednesdays until they receive their tax refund. The family is stating that they may not have the payment for next Wednesday on 5/14 and are in need of assistance.
The family is also down to one vehicle due to one of their vehicles needing parts (2003 ford Expedition Eddie Bauer 8 Cyl 4.6L). The vehicle is in need of a timing chain, oil pump, and water pump. The grandfather has advised that he can fix the vehicle if the parents obtain the parts, but the parents do not have the extra funds to get the parts needed.

I am writing in behalf of my client is a single mother of 3 who recently experienced a DV incident, leaving her in a state of crisis. With the assistance of a navigator, she sought immediate help and was able to secure temporary transportation through PADV. Unfortunately, the transportation attempts were unsuccessful as the Uber drivers refused to transport her due to the absence of car seats for her children. The client was given a 24-hour window to reach a shelter. However, due to the transportation issues, she was unable to make it within the given time frame. The following day, she was informed that the shelter spot had been taken. She spent the next three days trying to secure another spot without success.

In the meantime, the client contacted her landlord, who changed the locks to ensure her safety and has also lowered the rent to help client. She has also applied for additional public assistance, including TANF and Cash Assistance, and currently awaiting approval. The client has been a victim of financial abuse which has left her in a vulnerable financial state. She recently discovered that her ex-partner did not pay the light bill, resulting in an outstanding balance of $209. The electricity is scheduled for disconnection on May 9th, 2025. The client is urgently seeking assistance to cover the light bill to prevent disconnection. This support is crucial for her and her children as they navigate this challenging period and work towards stability and safety.

DCS has been involved with this family several times due to struggles with mental health and financial means of the family. Mother is a single parent who lacks supports that can help assist her financially. She has 3 young children, only one being school aged, and is not employed while trying to maintain the family. DCS is requesting assistance in paying for an IU Summer Reading Program that will provide virtual support for the oldest child in helping her with reading, pronunciation, and comprehension. This child is in Kindergarten and going into first, the school recommended this program to help her stay at grade level moving into the next grade. This program will provide the child with books as additional support. This program does not offer a scholarship, and the total cost is $320.73. DCS is needing full payment if possible but partial payment would be appreciated as well.

The agency is in process of reunifying a family. The family is in need of 3 twin beds for their children ages 8, 13, and 3 (two boys and one girl). They will also need appropriate bedding.

We are working with a local family that has adopted special needs child and are having a mold issue in their home. As a result they are being moved from rental to rental. This a great stress on the family to be out of their wheelchair accessible home. Due to the neighborhood requirements they still to maintain the yard during the months the home is uninhabitable. We would like to help them with their lawn care for 3 months, to allow them to focus on caring for their children, the extra attention needed for their special needs child , and getting back into their home. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

We have a wonderful family in need of a little support as they embark on their new chapter. They are seeking assistance with their $500 move-in fee, which will help them secure their home. Additionally, they would greatly appreciate help with essential furniture and household items, like pots and pans, to make their space truly welcoming. Your generosity can make a significant difference in their journey!

After 16 years of abuse, the mother has finally gained the courage and support to press charges against the father of her children after he choked her and her daughter. The mother lives with her 3 minor children. The mother had her leg amputated in 2024 due to issues with diabetes and has not had employment or disability benefits since. She has just obtained a prosthetic leg last week and once she obtains a vehicle and strengthens her ability to walk, will find employment. The abusive father did not allow her to work for a period of time, so she does not have savings to support herself or her children. The department is working on a long term solution but the mother needs assistance as soon as possible to bridge the gap.

The caring and supportive father is taken care of his twin boys age 17. The father have limited income and have been doing the best he can to ensure the children are safe and stable. The children are set to GRADUATE High School on Monday, May 12th and are in need of clothes for graduation.

We currently have two children in the office and are needing an air fryer to cook for them. We do not have a stove only microwaves.
