Hello everyone, we have a wonderful family from our Lead Neelys Bend Campus. One of our students requires help with a new pair of glasses. Unfortunately, while on an educational adventure, the student had an incident with their glasses and they broke. Despite efforts to fix them, the damage has increased. The parent took their child to the eye doctor, but unfortunately, they ran out of warranty for a replacement pair of glasses. The earliest the student can get new replacement glasses with insurance is next April. This is causing a problem for the student as the glasses are not staying on their face properly. Therefore, we are reaching out to see if anyone could support this family in getting a new pair of glasses for our student. Thank you in advance for any support that can be provided.
We have a family of 5 that is needing a washing machine. In the home is dad, mom and 3 school aged siblings. They have been in Dunlap for about 1 month.
We have an sponsor who is able to donate up to $400 for a washing machine. We need assistance locating a working washing machine and delivery and set up.
Mary:
I have located a washer that can be delivered to the family in need. Men from The Vine will complete the install. I just need details of obtaining the funding that is available and how to set up delivery. Thanks!
Grandma and grandpa have temporary custody of their 12-year-old grandson but Grandma has been fighting lymphoma. She went into a clinical study at OSU in early 2023 and Grandma is now in remission but is immune compromised and developed diabetes as a result of the treatment. The cost of the treatment and all her medical appointments have piled up, despite having insurance. They are living paycheck to paycheck and have some outstanding bills they are struggling to keep up with due to having to pay out of pocket for dental care and part of her insulin this past month. Help with their December rent of $550 would be so helpful as they do not have the income to cover that this month after paying these unexpected fees and some utility bills to avoid disconnect. Thank you for helping keep them in stable housing as they work through some of these financial obstacles!
The biological family needs assistance paying the deposits for their gas, sewer and water in the amount of $290 to get these utilities turned on. This would need to be paid to Citizens.
Having access to clean water in your home is an absolute necessity to living for every one of our students. It can be very unsettling when you arrive home and find that your water service has been disconnected. Please consider helping this family get their service turned back on.
This single mom has had a rough couple months resulting in her falling behind on several of her bills. She knows that it is important for her to get herself back on track for the sake of her kids. She just started a second job today and is working hard to make sure that she can continue to provide for them. In the meantime, a little assistance could really help her get a leg up for the future.
Providing this family with the money to get water turned back on will ensure that these kids continue to have access to water for drinking, cleaning, and bathing. This will mean that they can continue to stay healthy and safe during this season.
Our school has a family of 7 children that just moved into our district and have only been attending for 8 days. The mother of these children reached out to us Friday asking for assistance. Only 5 of the children attend our school as one is in high school and the other is preschool age. The siblings are very connected as they see each other at school they greet each other with hugs and smiles and waves. So far the children have been a pleasure and fit in well with their peers. Their needs/wants are mostly clothing and bedding. When asked about Christmas toy requests, mom responded "maybe outside stuff." The mother is very appreciative when I speak with her on the phone. This family would value any assistance that can be offered.

African refugee family has been here one year. Critical need to move to a home with heat. There are 6 children in the home, ages 4 months to 17 years old. They successfully found a new house that has room for all of themand are meeting the landlord today at 4:00 pm to sign the lease. Dad works full time and has the rent but doesn't have the deposit. We have tried many different sources to help with a deposit and have not had any success. We are waiting to hear back from a few. The family needs $1000 to secure a new home. We are hoping the landlord will be patient and wait on resources.
Times are tough for everyone, but when a family asks for assistance with household items, it is clear just how tight things are for some. Grandparents raising their granddaughter are in need of some bath towels and wash clothes for the home. They are barely making rent and other bills, so they just don't have any extra funds for things like this.
Providing a simple household item like bath towels can help ensure that the student has what she needs to be clean and healthy.
To keep the kids is the care of there mother, i am asking for your help and getting 2 twin beds. Mom has beds for three of the kids she just needs two beds for the other kids.
DCS is working with a family on reunification.....
This family is trying to reunite with their two young sons that have been in custody just over a year. The family is working services with the department for reunification. The father works a full time job and the mother is currently working through door-dash so that she can participate in the needed services. This family has worked really hard to complete tasks of the permanency plan while also struggling with finding housing. They were finally able to secure housing and are able to make the payment going forward.
If they are able to make the down payment of $850 by Monday EOD, they have an apartment secured. Mom has been doing door dash as much as possible and has already raised $350. She will continue to do so over the weekend, but as of right now they need another $500 to secure the apartment. Please support this family on their journey to reunification!

Good Afternoon. I have a single mother who is at risk of being homeless. She has two children and she does the best that she can. She is behind on rent due to losing her housing voucher. She is barley making ends meet with all the financial burdens she is responsible for. She owes 3600 in rent and court fees. Please help her keep a roof over her head and a warm place for her and her children. If you are unable to pay the full amount anything helps. A loving aunt has been taking care of her niece and nephew for the past 10 years. In January, CPS placed two additional nephews who had been in foster care with her. The aunt is happy to care for all four children but she is unsure how she will afford to provide them holiday gifts. All of the local programs she has heard about have closed their registration for holiday support. Any help to make their holiday special, would be so greatly appreciated. We are asking for a gift card of $200 so she can buy the boys some toys and things they need. Thank you for making their holiday brighter!
CPS/DCS is working with a mom who lives in Lawrenceburg who is in need of a washer and dryer. She has three boys and is divorced. Unfortunately she is not getting any childcare support payments. They are financially struggling and getting a washer and dryer will make a big difference for them. A working second hard washer/dryer is totally OK.
