This family is in need of two bunkbeds and 2 twin mattresses so that they are able to take in a family member that has been placed in foster care. They have not been approved for foster care payments to help assist in purchasing the bunk beds. The bunk beds are needed for placement to take place.

Safe Families is working with a single mom of two year old boy recently fled from domestic violence situation and is in their own apartment. Mom is dealing with some medical issues that will require surgery soon and she is unable to work. The social security disability check was short this month, for reason still unknown. This left her short on rent and she was just given an eviction notice. Mom is taking steps to handle this issue to insure next months rent will be paid as usual. She is also working hard for the medical needs of her and her son. Helping support this family will keep them stable in their current living situation and prevent them from being homeless.

Single mother of one child (age 7) and survivor of domestic violence has been the sole provider for her child for over two years. Mother has been facing barriers regarding her finances and transportation. She is currently in need of assistance with obtaining a couch for the family’s apartment. Assistance provided will help ensure she can focus her finances on other household expenses and obtaining a working vehicle.

We have a foster mother that has really gone above and beyond to help a 13 year old boy with several disabilities, and there are 3 other children in the home. She's opened her home in order to take him in and even moved to the living room so that he can have her room instead. She's been struggling with some major home repairs and we've been unable to find help for those issues. We are asking for some help with her water/municipal utilities in order offset those other expenses. Her current water bill is $201 approx. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Single mom of 5 children (8 and under) with very little support has recently left a Domestic Violence relationship of 10 years. As a result, she is in need of car seats, stroller or wagon, beds (two sets of bunk beds and a single twin), a rug (to damper the noise), and a dining room table as she left all these behind. For the car seats she needs 3 five-point harness car seats and two booster seats. She is hoping for 2 sets of bunk beds and a single twin, with mattresses and bedding. She needs either a stroller or wagon to get to and from places with her three boys (twins who are 5 and special needs and a three-year-old boy). We are trying to support this mom in any way to help her realize she can do this on her own.

The family consists of a single mom and her three children (12, 11, and 8). She works two jobs to support her children, faithfully engages in domestic violence support group each week, attends weekly therapy, engages in parenting and healthy relationship education, ensures her children's needs are met, and receives no additional support from any other resources. Despite juggling all of these things, she finds time to maintain her home, advocate her children when they experience being bullied at school, and goes above and beyond to ensure they attend church faithfully every Wednesday and Sunday. She would greatly benefit from getting this need meet. She is currently in a payment arrangement with the electric company with a grand total of $965.92 (as shown on her bill she sent) but she only asked for help to meet this month's total due ($312.30). This family is so precious and seeing the growth they have made from day one to this very day is so inspiring. A resilient household of four has recently achieved a remarkable milestone by moving from a hotel to a new apartment. Their dedication and hard work to secure stable housing have been nothing short of inspirational. However, unforeseen challenges have emerged, threatening their fragile progress.

With limited income, the family has been unable to afford furniture, leaving them to sleep on the floor with only minimal blankets for warmth. This situation has taken a physical toll on them, especially the eldest daughter, who recently secured a job to contribute to the family’s finances. Tragically, she fell while attempting to rise from the floor, injuring her knee and forcing her to take time off from work. This setback highlights the urgent need for assistance.

The family is seeking support to acquire beds, which would significantly improve their health, safety, and overall well-being. A small gesture of kindness could make a world of difference for this determined household as they continue to fight for stability and a brighter future.

Food Donation for Children at the Family Tree The OKDHS Family Tree offers a home-like setting for children awaiting placement. The Center is a safe, comfortable environment for children as the child welfare worker completes necessary paperwork and identifies a foster placement. Children often come in hungry. The Family Tree allows children to choose what they want to eat, giving them a choice when they do not have many choices. We have a list of possible suggestions but are open to any food donation that is easily prepared. The Family Tree has a refrigerator and can accept frozen or cold foods. Thank you for your help!

Child has been reunified with his bio mother after 12 years apart. His mother will accomplish reinstatement of her parental rights, something few parents are able to do. The child was placed back with the mother and she does not receive any foster care payments for the child. He is in need of storage for his toys and a dresser for his clothing. Suggestion of what child is wanting is Wal-Mart Mainstay 11' 6-cube storage organizer Black X2 (28.88 each); Mainstay collapsable fabric cubes X8 various colors ($4.38); Mainstay Ardent 4 drawer Dresser Black ($125) or other items similar to these. Mother and survivor of domestic violence is currently facing disability barriers which has resulted in financial strain and her inability to have visitation with her. While mother does have a vehicle, she is not able to keep up with maintenance and is not able to drive very far. Mother is also having difficulty with affording her utilities for the month of May. Additionally, Mother is not able to afford her rent of $813 for the month of May. Mother has applied for and advised has been approved for disability benefits. At this time, Mother is not certain as to when her disability benefits will be starting and is afraid that she will lose her home if she is not able to pay her rent for the month of May. Any assistance provided will help ensure Mother is able to focus on her health, her disability benefits, being able to see her children, and allocating her limited funds toward other household expenses.

Mother of five children (age 3 to 14) has to relocate for a second time after experiencing domestic violence and homelessness. Mother has secured new housing, however due to an unexpected bill she is now in need of assistance with paying her first month’s rent. The monthly rent is $1,500. Mother does have $1,100 she is able to pay and only needs assistance with $400. Mother is due to move in on Saturday, 04/19/25. Providing any assistance will help ensure that Mother and her children do not face homelessness for a second time and will provide a safe and loving home for the whole family.

We have a young student that is set to graduate. As a part of her ongoing goals, she is hoping to complete her goal of obtaining a drivers license.
