Currently working with a single dad who has been sober for 5 years. He has been fighting to gain custody of his 2 girls for the past 4 years and now the courts have awarded 50% custody. He found an affordable place to live but has nothing since he was staying with family. The pace is really small so he doesn't need to much, he will be sleeping in the living room so a sofa bed or futon will work.

Jim:
I can spring for the cups, bowls, and plates.
Mother has been receiving basic needs services at local Family Resource Center has recently moved from a DV Shelter to a 2 bedroom with her 2 . Mother was given a bed that the family has been sharing. Family has 1 complete bed they sleep on together, recently mom was given 2 twin mattresses and bed frames but no box springs. The bed frames require a box spring to hold up the mattresses. Family would benefit from two twin box springs and dressers for clothes & belongings. Currently she is putting items in bins and boxes on the floor.

Parents were able to successfully obtain their own place, but need assistance with some furniture for the children to be able to start their overnight visits and to be able to return home to a safe environment. Parents have been successful in completing their services. The children are looking forward to being able to reunify with their parents successfully. Providing them with this furniture would be a big help to the family and the reunification process.

Mom is currently in a legal battle dealing with court battles for an unhealthy ex. She is trying to keep her babies safe and well and needs a bunk bed so that they can be safe with a place to sleep as well as space saving in the place that she has. She has a 6 year old girl and a little boy who is about to turn 2. Would love for someone to bless her because she is so stressed with court.

Hello, I am making this request for a family of 9. This family recently reunited and the Department is working on stabilizing the family. The mother was provided housing by the Family Reunification Program, and is in great need with assistance to furnish the home. Previously, the mother and the children were living with the maternal grandmother, which was causing a lot of discomfort, due to there being a large amount of people living in the home. The children have stated they are thrilled to be living in a home for themselves, and are looking forward to making their new home, feel like home. The mother is currently employed, but is only making enough to support the children and additional bills. The children's ages include: 15, 14, 13, 11, 10, 9, 8, 5. The mother is hopeful she can have a large sectional couch, in order to be able to sit the children during family time.
The client is a single mother, 64 years old caregiver raising her 3 nephews, ages 16, 15 and 12. The client is working with the YMCA Kinship Support Program to access ongoing resources but is currently in need of two twin beds with mattresses. The caregiver is having financial struggles and she only has money for basic needs. When this need is met, client will be able to provide adequate bedding for the children.

The client is a single mother who recently ended her relationship with the father due to ongoing domestic violence. The mother is strong a resilient. To continue to ensure her child's safety, the mother would like to purchase cameras to place in her window to provide further surveillance for her home until she can move to a new apartment, however, she currently does not have the funds for the expense. As such, I am requesting Target/Walmart/Amazon gift cards to assist the mother with the cost of cameras.

I recently received the case of this single mother of 3, two of the children reside with mother, and the other resides with her uncle. Mother is supporting the children on her own as well as getting them to and from school and the babysitter. She is doing her best to support her family but due to appointments related to the case, court case, medical and other services that DCFS is requesting the family to do, the mother has had to take a lot of time off, and since she just started the job she has no paid time off. Mother is of need of Rental assistance of $1671. By assisting the family with the rent, it would be helpful from preventing the family from being evicted and for the children and mother being homeless. Thank you for your consideration.
Single mother and her 4 children (ages: 13, 3, 2, and 1). The child who is 2-years-old, attends physical and speech therapy. The child who is 1-year-old attends occupational therapy and the child who is 3-years-old receives Applied Behavior Analysis therapy. Mom’s 13-year-old daughter also attends therapy. Currently, mom’s car is not working. Mom stated that she took her car to the mechanic and mom needs a catalytic converter for her car to be repaired. Mom does not have the funds due to working part-time. Mom has been struggling to take her daughters to the necessary services to meet their needs. Local Family Resource Center has assisted mom in saving money by providing her with basic needs such as food, a bus pass, diapers, and a store gift card. Mom has been getting rides from her neighbor upon availability. Mom explained that she runs late to the appointments or must reschedule due to not having consistent transportation. Due to mom’s car not working and not having the funds to pay for her car, mom has been feeling stressed and her blood pressure was high, so mom had to go to the emergency room and was told to rest and take days off work. Mom has not followed doctor’s orders due to not being able to afford missing work to be able to provide for her children. By being able to have the catalytic converter repair, the mom will be able to have her own functioning vehicle to transport her children to their necessary appointments and reducing the high stress she’s been feeling

A low-income father was recently displaced from his apartment and is renting a small bedroom with his two children. The father is under Family Maintenance services and has been participating accordingly. The father has recently fractured his foot from a work related injury and is out of work for the time being, making his finances tight and he is now in need of further assistance. The father is in need of a compact studio apartment sized refrigerator (not a mini fridge) in order to accommodate the groceries and needs of his children. The father is also in need of any financial assistance being offered in any form, such as gas gift cards or groceries and grocery gift cards. Any assistance is much appreciated.

The family recently had their children returned to them. They have three children. They are need of a bunk bed (new or used) for the two older children and a pack and play style crib/bed for the baby. The children will have reliable beds and the pack and play will make things easier for the mother.

This request is being made for a single parent and her two young children. The children, ages 6 months and 2 years old, and their mother are currently residing in an apartment that has hard flooring. The mother is asking for an alphabet foam floor puzzle play mat in order to provide her 6-month-old with safer environment while he learns to crawl and navigate around on the floor and continues to develop his physical abilities. The mat would also provide the 2-year-old with a safer play area. The mother is also in need of a double stroller for her two young children. The single parent is on a very limited income and unable to purchase the items on her own. It is our belief that the family would benefit greatly with the addition of a foam floor play mat and a double stroller. The acts of regular floor play are an important stage of development for a 6-month-old with numerous benefits to a child’s growth and development, as well as for a 2-year-old who is full of energy. The parent will also benefit greatly from being able to travel easier and safer with both children seated securely in a double stroller. Thank you for your consideration.

The client is a single parent in her late 40s caring for her 15yo bio-son and her 4yo daughter (who is biologically considered a Non-Related-Extended-Family-Member). While the client does receive a little financial assistance/help around the house from her long-term best friend/roommate, the client has been raising her daughter since she was just a few months old with no official financial assistance. Though the client is looking into applying for CalWORKs, those funds wouldn’t kick in for a least another few months. Since raising her, the client has co-slept with her daughter. While this has worked in the past, as her daughter continues to grow, the client has been hoping to get her, her own “big-girl” bed. Ideally the client would like a Twin sized bed/mattress so that it will continue to fit her daughter as she grows. The family is also requesting a $150 gift card to Target if possible. Those funds would go towards bedding and pillow for the daughter, as well as other household needs—hygiene supplies, cleaning supplies, etc. The client has expressed her gratitude with whatever assistance the family is able to get.

A mother has recently reunified with her two daughters, ages 4 and 2 by successfully by meeting her case plan goals after substantiated allegations of substance abuse during her last pregnancy. The mother is requesting car seats for the children. Mother currently takes the bus to get around using County-issued bus passes. However, the mother would like to travel to events with her daughters via car but is in need of car seats. When the mother travels around for her support services, the mother would like having a stroller wagon so both girls can sit in the stroller and can rest if needed. The mother recently moved into a new apartment and received bunk beds from a community agency. The mother is in need of a comforter so the girls are able to sleep comfortably.
