The kinship caregivers are requesting assistance in getting a stroller for their two-year-old niece that has been placed in their care. The caregivers take their niece with them when they leave their home and a stroller would help keep their niece safe in a contained area while they are out in public walking, shopping and participating in various events. The caregivers had bought a large number of items for their niece to make her feel comfortable in their home and to provide for her basic needs. They do not have the funds at this time to purchase a stroller on their own.
This student is a 2nd grader who lives a mile away from the school. Her walk would be a 20-minute walk by herself, crossing major roads to return home. Her mother is not able to get off work to pick her up, no one else in the home drives, and the school bus doesn't pick up anyone within a 2-mile radius. This student desperately needs to be at school each day. When her mother is not able to pick her up due to her work schedule, the student does not come to school. The family is in need of funds to pay for after-school care each month.
EDP is $377 per month or $3,016 for the year.
7mo old is currently in foster placement. diagnosed with plagiocephaly and to this malformation pediatrician/specialist has recommended and the child wear helmet.
Child has been fitted for helmet however insurance has denied cover due it is not being a need after surgery However the doctors or highly recommending. this treatment for child while bones are still fusing.
Request is for help with covering the cost of the helmet and all the follow up appointments and treatment.
I have a pregnant mom sleeping on an air mattress and could really use better support as she is 7 months pregnant. If she couldn't get a full-size bed, I am sure she would be happy with a twin. She is single with 3 other children and has worked very hard to get where she is right now. She is currently pregnant with a baby girl. She could use anything to help her get prepared for her arrival.
I have a family who is currently in an emergency housing situation. The family consists of a single mom with three children. The student is in 8th grade on my campus, but he also has a brother in 12th grade, and a brother that is too young for school. The family was just evicted from their housing situation, and they are staying at a hotel with no mode of transportation or funds. The family is in need of 200.00 dollars to be able to stay in a two bedroom hotel room for the week while they figure out a more permanent option. As of right now, both students are unable to attend school and all four family members are sharing one hotel room. The family's need is very urgent. Any assistance that can be offered is greatly appreciated.
I have a family who are not US Citizens, so many of the resources available cannot be accessed by this family. Recently the mother has become ill and cannot work as much as typical. As such, she is paying full price for medications (which are not typical expenses on previous income). I would love to get any help possible for the family. Two ways I believe this is possible is by paying the baseball registration for the elementary brother of my student at the cost of $140. Additionally, gas cards in order to help alleviate the cost of living in the amount of $200. This would allow mom to get to and from work.
Jeff:
We are praying for this family and thankful to the have the opportunity to help with this need.

I saw an email stating that a community responder in zip code 76108 needed help delivering the gas cards and fee to the family. If he still needs someone local to the family to help deliver those resources, please let me know.
A 17-year-old boy who lives with his elderly maternal grandmother needs to obtain his driver's license. He is a very responsible teenager who goes to school regularly, has a job, is involved in multiple sports, and uses his extra time to spend it with his family. He not only needs his driver's license so that he step into adulthood properly, but he also wants to be able to visit his parents who don't live close, be able to go to school/games/work without delay waiting on other people, and be able to get his sister to and from school and other services she needs because she also lives with her paternal grandmother and she works hours that sometimes interfere with getting her to and from school. Link to what the youth is requesting:
Jeanette:
Does he need someone to teach him to drive or is he just asking for the self taught course? I know that includes working with someone to sign off on the work and the to drive with him for the practical work.
Youth in need of fees for driving test. Having her DL is the first step in the youth's goals of independence. She has passed her written test and consistently been practicing her driving skills in order to be ready for the driving test. This next step will allow new doors and opportunities of advancement for the youth that will bring about stability and independence!
A kinship caregiver took on the needs of a 2-year-old little boy in order to keep him with his older sibling. This kinship caregiver took in these kids with a house full of kids of her own already. She is limited on space and is having kids share beds right now. Due to the increase in kids, funds are allocated to maintain the basic needs and function of the family, food, and education. She is looking at obtaining a bunk bed to help our kids have their own bed and be able to feel like individuals and sleep well at night. This will help immensely and she will be grateful for any help.
Morgan:
We have a church member with a wooden bunk bed set and matresses they are no longer needing. Will be availalble for pick up as early as tuesday october 3
Please help this young family in need keep their apartment. My clients are Spanish speaking refugees from Venezuela and just had a baby. and need help. The parents are very young but doing everything they can to become American citizens and raise their child. Due to the fathers age, he is struggling with a job even though he’s a high school graduate in.Venezuela. This family is facing eviction if they do not get this help! Please help this family keep their child’s home.
The family is involved in a domestic violence situation, which has caused a lot of financial strain. Mother is in the process of starting to gain financial independence after this DV situation.
Family could use food support and financial assistance.
The family consist of 2 boys, ages 12 and 16. There is also an 11 year old girl in the home.
We had a mother come in this afternoon (8/29) sharing that her and her two children (elementary and middle- GCISD) will be evicted tomorrow (8/30) if they do not come up with the rent for the past 3 months. We are looking into trying to get them temporary housing while they try to get into a more permanent situation. Hotel/motel vouchers would be super helpful. The mother has had her car repossessed by the bank and is now borrowing from someone. She would benefit from a gas card in the mean time to get to her new job.
The Department has PMC of the two children in need as their parents are awaiting trial in jail and have not been a big part of the children't lives in two years. The Department is requesting assistance with insurance for Chromebooks needed for school to assist the children with working during school hours and doing homework. The children are in a group home that is only able to meet their basic needs.
there is a large family who have almost no furniture in the home. they have a pile of dirty clothes because they have no washer or dryer. the family has a low income and needs help. Updated on August 30, 2023 by an Agency Worker Some of the items in the request have been fulfilled (all of the car and booster seats) by the CAC. The family only needs beds, mattresses, bed sheets, and a washer/dryer now. They need the washer/dryer most of all. Those are items that the CAC cannot really obtain.
There are 6 kids in the home-
8 yo girl
6 yo boy (with autism)
5 yo girl
3 yo boy
2 yo boy
And a 1 yo girl
This family would greatly benefit from a washer/dryer and would actually eliminate many of the concerns CPS has been receiving about the family
This grandmother has taken in her grandchild as the parents are unable to care for him at this time. This grandmother also takes care of her own mother and needs help with the baby gates because all of her extra time and money is spent on her grandchild and her mother and trying to find a better home health company which can be costly.
This family needs assistance with obtaining some items for their babies. They have just been reunified with their baby for about 2 weeks now. The baby returned home from foster care with barely any clothing and they other baby is growing out of his clothes. They are in need of clothing size 12 month for a girl and they are in need of size 6-9 months clothing for a boy. The family has 2 parents, however, only one parent is able to work at this time. Providing clothing or gift cards for clothing will help this family out a lot as it will lift a financial burden. This will help them be able to save up money for when the babies outgrow their clothing in months to come. This family could also use 2 highchairs/booster seat for eating, as this will make meal time easier for them.
Youth is struggling to make and maintain meaningful relationships. She is struggling in school as it relates to her grades, behavior, and relationships with her peers and educators. She has no motivation to complete school work or household chores.
Youth will be entering high school for the 2023-2024 school year. She will be starting a dog walking business for the summer. The hope with the business is that she will learn skills that she can apply throughout her life. She will build relationships and be more equipped to enter the 9th grade. By assisting her with supplies that she will need she will be encouraged to improve her behavior. She loves dogs and is motivated to make her pet a support animal and will use the money that she earns to buy things that she needs.
Shana:
I’d love to fund part of her startup costs for her business!
