I have a foster student who is new to the district and the area. He is requesting a foldable scooter to help him get to school.

I am reaching out on behalf of a single mother with six children who is currently in need of support. The family was recently displaced from a room they had been renting and, thankfully, has now secured their own apartment. However, they are in need of essential household items to help make their new space livable and comfortable. Some of the immediate needs include: Microwave, Dining table, Pots and pans, Plates and utensils, Towels and blankets. A dedicated student who will be graduating this June from Riverside City College with her RN certification is a single mother who has shown remarkable commitment in managing her academic responsibilities, parenting, and limited work hours. Due to the intensity of the RN program, she is currently working reduced hours, making it challenging to cover the costs associated with the licensure process. Assistance with the following expenses will enable her to obtain her nursing license and begin employment as a registered nurse, with starting wages around $40 per hour. Caregiver, Paternal Aunt, Needs a crib for 2-year-old child. The child and their Sibling have been detained from mother and are being placed with paternal aunt. Caregiver has a bed available for the older child and is unable to get a crib/toddler bed for the 2 year old on short notice. We are working with a Grandmother who is caring for her four-year old Grandson + two-year old Granddaughter. Grandma has been caring for them both for the last two years as their parents work through domestic violence and substance-abuse challenges. The Father on this case has been very active with attending classes, bible studies, and therapeutic groups. Grandma has also expressed that if their parents cannot work out their challenges that she will move forward to adopt both toddlers. Both kids love living with Grandma and are very happy in this placement, especially after their history of trauma and a previous foster care case. Grandma loves to keep her grandkids well-fed and they enjoy "their favorite foods including hotdogs, macaroni and cheese, sopitas, ice cream, Fruit Loops, Apple Jacks, cheese sticks, varied fruits and applesauce". The challenge is that Grandma has a very tiny kitchen and nowhere to store all of the food she purchases! Hi! I am reaching out to the CarePortal network as our last event we had urgent requests for diapers and wipes from our teen parents. We are serving more parents than ever before (which I think Care Portal has contributed to as well because our capacity is bigger!) Our last event had 35 moms, 7 dads, and 43 babies - with our volunteers there was over 100 people! So we have some big needs! One of the girls also needs underwear and bras as she lives in a shelter and doesn't have the means to get undergarments - 34B Bra and Medium size underwear along with a breast pump.

Hello, we are asking for some assistance to help support a struggling family in need. A single father of a 10-year-old, 18-year-old, and an adult disabled child was recently admitted into the hospital and there are serious concerns he may not make it, and if he does he won't be home soon due to recovery time. The children’s grandfather has stepped in, taking the responsibility of caring for the children while their father is in the hospital, but they are emotionally and financially struggling due to their circumstances.

Grandfather will not get any assistance or funding for the children for over 45 days or more so we are asking for some help in providing immediate help via a grocery card to help with food and a gas card to help carry them through this emergency situation.

The family lives in a small trailer in an RV park and another concern is they’re at risk of being evicted if they do not repair the trailer door. We have estimated that the hired cost to repair will be between $700-900 of if if anyone has access to have someone replace an RV trailer door this would be such a blessing for them. This will allow the grandfather to retain the housing for him and the children. The clients are 54 and 62-year-old caregivers, who are currently raising their 8-year-old grandson. They had to step in as his guardian, because both of his parents have issues with stability, have mental health issues and are unable to take care of him. The grandmother was laid off from her job and so they are living off of one income. What's Being Requested: Requesting 7 pairs of uniform polo shirts ($98), 5 pairs of uniform pants ($70) and 2 uniform sweaters ($54). To last for the rest of this academic year and all of next year. Total: $222 Brief description: The caregiver is the sole provider for her nephew, whom she's had since birth and sees as her son. Her nephew came into her care through dire circumstances as he was born with substances in his system. Tragically both his biological parents have passed away and so the caregiver does not receive any child support or public assistance to pay for expenses related to his care. She is on a very fixed income and is looking for support with buying her nephews uniform clothes as the uniforms can only be bought through the school as they have the school logo on them. Although he hasn't been officially diagnosed, the caregiver stated that her nephew displays multiple symptoms of Autism Spectrum Disorder and he struggles to take care for his clothes. His current uniforms appear worn and snug as he is growing. The caregiver is hoping for assistance to help clothe her nephew for the rest of this academic year as well as for next year. She has expressed gratitude for any and all assistance provided.

A families home recently burned down and they are currently in need of furniture, kitchen supplies such as pots and pans, spatulas, ect and undergarments for the student. Any help with help this family get back on track.

On April 3rd a family lost their home due to a fire which is currently under investigation. They lost everything. They were only able to grab a couple of clothes. They are currently in need of a couch. Anything will help this family get back on track.

Family of 6 has been struggling due to loss of permanent housing, they lived in a hotel for almost a year. They just recently secured an apartment and a place to finally call home. Family needs bed frames for their mattress, sofa and a microwave. The parent feels this need being met will bring a feeling of safety and normalcy which will impact the school age child positively both emotionally and academically.
