This family is in need of two bunkbeds and 2 twin mattresses so that they are able to take in a family member that has been placed in foster care. They have not been approved for foster care payments to help assist in purchasing the bunk beds. The bunk beds are needed for placement to take place.

I’m reaching out to see if you could help us connect a wonderful family of five with some food assistance. They have a 1-year-old who needs to attend specialized appointments at OU four days a week who also recently had back surgery in March and the father had to take unpaid leave to assist the mom with caring for the 1-year-old Unfortunately, they have to drive themselves since Sooner Ride can’t accommodate all the siblings, and the mom doesn’t have anyone available to watch their 3-year-old at home.

Right now, the father is the sole breadwinner. Although he earns a decent income, they’re finding it tough to keep up with rent payments, which are $400 each week, to catch up on past due rent. Buying enough food has become a challenge due to the added costs of the frequent drives and their rent.

To make things a bit more difficult, the father also has 18% taken out for an unpaid loan and child support for his older children. They’re just looking for some food assistance to help them through this temporary bump in the road.

Single mother of one child (age 7) and survivor of domestic violence has been the sole provider for her child for over two years. Mother has been facing barriers regarding her finances and transportation. She is currently in need of assistance with obtaining a couch for the family’s apartment. Assistance provided will help ensure she can focus her finances on other household expenses and obtaining a working vehicle.

Hello I am needing help with fixing up a mother's car so she is able to see her children for her visits. This would help mom out with starting Trial Reunification so she can get her kiddos back home with her. She has been having difficulties getting to different towns to see her kiddos on a regular basis because her car is not in working condition and she does not have much family to help her when needed. All this car needs in a front left ball joint to get this car up and running! if someone is available to help fix this car up this will help mom get her children back home. The car is 2000 mercury MGL that just needs a left ball joint repaired.

Hello, we have a biological mom who is in trial reunification with her two children. She recently lost her job but quickly found a job so it would not disrupt the girls. She is a bio mom who is resilient and does everything she can to provide for her girls. She is short on rent and we don’t want her to lose her place of stay and cause a disruption to the girls placement

Hello! I have a wonderful kinship foster mother who could use a little bit of help. She has placement of a teen, along with her own teen in the home. She works full time at a local mental health facility and also assists her adult daughter (who is disabled) with her own children, two of which are special needs. This lady has a heart of gold and would never ask anyone for anything but would give anyone her the shirt off her back. She lives in a small three bedroom rental and each time I have been to the home, she is so apologetic about "the mess". She is so embarrassed by the state of her home, which is just cluttered with stuff everywhere...clothes scattered about in the bedrooms, things all over the kitchen since it is so tiny with limited cabinet space. She has talked numerous times about how the home has absolutely no storage at all since it is an older home, and she knows the home needs some attention, but she simply has nowhere to put things. I offered to request a home organizer to come out and help her, but she said she is too prideful for that. But when I offered some dressers and storage items, she agreed. So that is my request...this client would be IMMENSELY grateful to have some dressers, and some shelving for their bedrooms/kitchen. This would help enhance the comfort and live-ability of the home for everyone and would take a load off her back. Any assistance you can provide to this sweet lady would be so appreciated!

A couple is slowly rebuilding their lives and taking the right steps to reunify with their baby. They are now working, and have found a small home. They are needing help with obtaining basic necessities. These items do not have to be brand new. Could you consider providing some basic items for their home? This would be very uplifting and supportive. This could also be an opportunity to share what your organization can offer them as they look towards strengthening their protective capacities.

Food Donation for Children at the Family Tree The OKDHS Family Tree offers a home-like setting for children awaiting placement. The Center is a safe, comfortable environment for children as the child welfare worker completes necessary paperwork and identifies a foster placement. Children often come in hungry. The Family Tree allows children to choose what they want to eat, giving them a choice when they do not have many choices. We have a list of possible suggestions but are open to any food donation that is easily prepared. The Family Tree has a refrigerator and can accept frozen or cold foods. Thank you for your help!

Mother of five children (age 3 to 14) has to relocate for a second time after experiencing domestic violence and homelessness. Mother has secured new housing, however due to an unexpected bill she is now in need of assistance with paying her first month’s rent. The monthly rent is $1,500. Mother does have $1,100 she is able to pay and only needs assistance with $400. Mother is due to move in on Saturday, 04/19/25. Providing any assistance will help ensure that Mother and her children do not face homelessness for a second time and will provide a safe and loving home for the whole family.

We have a young student that is set to graduate. As a part of her ongoing goals, she is hoping to complete her goal of obtaining a drivers license.

This family is working with Oklahoma Human Services due to concerns about domestic violence in the home. Since our involvement, a kinship placement has been taking care of the two children until the biological mother can get on her feet. Currently the biological mother has had many setbacks and has continued to bounce back from those setbacks. However, this kinship placement has taken on the responsibility of both children at their own expense. At this time, this family could use assistance with gas costs (whether a gas card or meeting the family to fill up their vehicle a couple times) to help transport these children to the doctor’s appointments and help get biological mother to her needed visits with her children. Please consider helping meet this need to ensure these children are able to remain in a stable placement until going back home with their mother. Thank you!

Mother of three children (ages 5, 6, and 8) is a survivor of domestic violence and relocated to Oklahoma from Texas due to her oldest child experiencing child abuse. All criminal and civil legal matters have recently been concluded, and Mother has relocated to a new address to provide additional safety for her and her children. Mother is currently employed but is facing financial barriers with her monthly rent of $1,209. At this time Mother needs assistance with $400 for the month of May 2025, and would be appreciative of any additional financial assistance to help offset future financial burdens. Providing assistance to this family will ensure that Mother can provide a stable, safe, and loving home for her children.
