This 6-person family does the best they can on under $50,000 annual income. They are working on moving out of their current apartment which is in bad condition. During a storm, there was a bad leak which caused water damage in one of the bedrooms which destroyed the beds in the room. They had to throw the beds out and are currently sharing 2 mattresses for all members of the family. They do not want to replace the beds until they move but would like help with some air mattresses to improve the quality of life for their children until they move and can save money for beds.
This family has been working very hard to move into a nicer area for their children to have a safer environment and better quality of life, but they had very little time to move once they were approved for a new apartment and they ran out of time and had to leave some beds behind. Currently they have one mattress/box spring for the two boys to share, while mom and the two girls are sleeping on the floor. They planned to buy beds but then would have no money for Christmas. This is a very close, loving family, and their parents work a very strict schedule that allows them very little flexibility. They always make time for their family and provide what the children need even though they are strapped for time and money. I would love to provide help with beds for this family so they can have a nice holiday together.
A mother and her three children (5 YO, 9 YO, 16 YO) are currently staying with paternal aunt. They are currently sleeping on one air mattress between the four of them. The family is in need of a bunk bed and mattress' so that the children can sleep in their own beds and have more room for comfort.
Mom is a single mother and is currently impacted by the death of her youngest child. Mom is working full time but is working on getting better housing for the family to live in. Mom does not have a very strong support system. Children are in need of clothes for the upcoming winter.
A family of 3 needs a little bit of help. The father is currently unemployed due to severe medical health issues. He was let go from his job due to it. He is now receiving unemployment, but its very little. They have a son who has autism. He needs new clothes for this year. He is size 7 in shirts, size 7 in pants, and size 2 in shows. A winter jacket would be greatly appreciated. Most of all though, he only has 1 pair of shoes.
Single Mother of 3 children. The children's father is deceased and so Mother is on her own. Mother is a great advocate for her children. She is working full time to provide what her children need but needs a bit of help. Family is needing living room furniture as there is only fold up lawn chairs in the home.
parent has gotten her own apartment. She does not have beds for the children. It is possible she may need additional furniture for the home. She has been living with family since January.
18 year old female, senior in high school is currently homeless. She has been in foster care majority of her childhood and was adopted by her foster parents about 5 years ago. Due to family issues her adoptive parents kicked her out. She has a cognitive disorder and is mentally not on an 18 year old level. She has slept in abandoned cars, under highways, in condemned buildings and more. Some of her teachers have given her clean clothes so she is not embarrassed at school. She needs shelter, food, and clothing; whatever you can do to help.

The mother had to relocate due to domestic violence, they are staying in a Airbnb. She was approved for an apartment and looking for help to play her deposite
The mother has several children with behavior issues, and she is looking for support to help her son, get him active in hopes to address his behavior.
The family has a history with the Department, the home is not clean and appropriate for the young children in the home. The home needs a deep clean.
The brother is sexually acting out, being inappropriate towards his siblings, the mother works from home, the child broke her cameras, and she needs assistance replacing the cameras so she can monitor the children to prevent abuse in the home.
I have a family who is the victim of domestic violence, a mother and her 4 daughters. Mother suffered domestic violence at the hands of her husband. She alerted law enforcement and tried to leave the home. During the violence that occurred in the home, the furniture got destroyed. The husband left the home and mom is left in the home with her daughters having to look at the aftermath of the abuse daily. The furniture is completely broken and torn. I have not been able to sit down during my visit. Mom has been looking for employment since she lost her job so she has not had money to purchase furniture. She is barley getting by but would like the children to feel good in their home, which is hard to do when the furniture is torn and is a reminder of what occurred. Helping this family furnish their home would result in the children feeling better about the situation and work on moving on without a constant reminder of what happened. This will also be a relief for mom as it will be one less thing she has to worry about while she is working on putting her life back together.
I have a wonderful sixteen-year-old girl that has been in care for one year. She finally has the opportunity to be placed with a family member instead of in a foster home. She was placed last Friday, and she looked so happy to be there. The family member was ready for her with her own room. However, when she went to get the queen size bed out of storage, it had been destroyed by the elements. The family member is a single person that would have to save up for many months to afford to pay for a new one. Right now, the sixteen-year-old is sleeping in the family member's bed and the family member is sleeping on the couch. This is not a long-term solution. We are requesting a new or used Queen size bed for a growing teenager. Thank you for your help in maintaining this family connection.

There are resources made available from the community. We are taking the lead and working out the details. Could you send over the contact information for the family?

Laura, thank you so much for your generosity to meet this need! Would you want to be involved in getting the bed to the recipient or have someone else handle that portion?
On September 22, 2023 the parents took their two children to Cook Children’s ER. Both the 1 year old child and the 4 year old child were seen. Unfortunately, due to a high deductible their insurance was not able to cover much of the cost of this visit. They were also denied any financial assistance from Cook Children’s Financial Counselors and their bill due is $6,000.00. We understand this is a large bill and we would like to request financial assistance to help the family start to chip away at the bill and give the family some financial relief.
The aunt has agreed to take care of 1 year old, until mom finds proper housing. This will probably be a longer placement
Aunt is in need of Diapers size 4, wipes and high chair
Formula- Gentlease
The child in care has been returned to their family and is currently on a return to monitor. The mother is a single woman with 6 children in her home. The dryer has recently went out at the home and the mother is having to go to the laundry mat. The mother reported having to complete at least 8-10 loads of laundry during her last session. The mother is currently on crutches from an injury and needs assist with dryer repairs or a new or gently used dryer. This family would benefit from having a dryer in the home so the mother can focus on healing and on the children.

I have a single father who is caring for his 11 year old daughter. The daughter is disabled and was recently discharged from the hospital. The father and child were kicked out of their home and are currently living in a hotel. The father is behind on his hotel bill and owes $225. If he doesn't catch up on his bill they will be kicked out of the hotel and become homeless. His daughter is also required to drink Pediasure everyday due to failure to thrive but they ran out and the father doesn't have enough funds to purchase anymore. If she doesn't get the nutrition needed she can lose weight, which will place her back in the hospital. I am also requesting $60 to purchase two boxes of Pediasure that will last her a month. The daughter was recently approved for disability and the father will have additional income to care for her once payment begins.
