The mother is homeless and sometimes lives out of her car. Mother sees her children every other week unsupervised and needs assistance with gas money to see the children due to her having to drive a long distance. We are requesting $100 dollars for gas for one month's visit. A $100 could be broken down to two $50 dollar parts or four $25 parts.
Family has been living in the shelter for an extended time. Mother has been working very hard at getting an apartment and resources for her children. Family is moving out of the shelter and into an apartment on 9/21/22. Family is leaving the shelter with few items for their new apartment. Family would be appreciative of the help making their apartment a home.
I have an 11 year old who is in need of a Chrome Laptop, tablet or something of the matter to help her with her homework. Foster parents are not able to provide at this time and stated the child has homework at night that uses google classroom. She needs either a laptop, tablet or ipad that will be able to download the apps she will need for school.
Two foster children are entering new placement and are in need of a bunk bed, 2 mattresses, and bedding. The two teenage girls have moved around from home to home, and unfortunately do not have any sheets, blankets, pillows, or other bedding for themselves. The girls will be sharing a room with each other and would benefit from having a bunk bed (and mattresses) in order to save space.
A new foster parent, older in age, took placement of two teens who are infested with head lice. She is overwhelmed with all the washing and cleaning of the home. One child who has very thick hair has to have it professionally treated at the lice clinic, as well as have a haircut. This is a major expense, along with all the continuing of washing. They will receive a discount for having Soonercare.
I have 2 fosters that are in need of some size 4-5 pull ups please and wipes. They are 2 and 4 years of age and almost potty trained. Worker takes product to them very 2 weeks. Fosters have requested that OHS help them weekly. Worker is planning to take them some more by Sunday.
An adult sister has placement of her teenage sister and her biological 3-year-old daughter. Foster care payments have not started yet and the teen is eating a lot more and adding to the grocery and electric bills. Her current electric bill is $281. Any help with this older sister-turned-foster mom's electric bill would be a blessing for this family.
A foster family is in need of assistance with their electric bill. The foster parent is currently struggling with finances and has not been fully approved for foster care maintenance payments at this time. Any assistance would help this family maintain placement.
High Chair Needed for baby up to toddler years. Car Seat needed for 2 year old child. This is a non-traditional kinship that was approved. The home was willing to accept both children even though they were only approved for the newborn, so they don't have the needed items for the two year old.
Kinship foster family in need of support for new placement. This is will be her first time having children in the home and she has graciously opened her home to a 2 year old and newborn. This placement was last minute for this aunt and any support will help alleviate stress on her. Thank you in advance for your continued support for our families!

Worker spoke with a biological mother who the department is working on reunifying a 15 year old child with her mother. Biological mother has done everything asked of her by the department which includes multiple UAs and services. All of this have been recommended and not court ordered. Biological mother is willing to do anything asked of her in order for her child to return home. She is needing additional assistance such as a dryer. Her dryer went out and she does not have the funds to buy another one. She is also needing a lock box and a medication divider. This is to help with her 15 year old daughter medication once she is placed in the home so that her daughter takes it as prescribed and not as any self- harm attempts like she has done in the past.
An adoptive foster home urgently needs assistance in converting a section of their garage into a bedroom. They are requesting the supplies as well as assistance with the labor. There are two custody children in the home who previously shared a bedroom but cannot continue to for safety reasons. There are no other viable sleeping arrangement options in the home. In order to continue with adoption of the two children, they need an 8x12 bedroom built for one of the children to sleep in.
OKDHS is attempting to help the Kinship foster home as well as the traditional foster home parents pay for gas. There are currently 6 children on this case load with 3 males and 3 females who are all under the age of of 8 years old. The youngest child was born just a couple of weeks ago. As you can imagine it is very difficult to manage visitation with 6 children placed in separate towns. The foster parents are struggling with needing gas money especially the Kinship home because they are still in the process of completing their classes so they don't receive a payment yet. OKDHS is asking for three $100 gas cards the families could use to help them until they get some other services. Thank you so much for your help.
Please help a young mother with 4 children, including a newborn, with some gas to continue to keep doing her classes, UAs, and getting to work. We all know how high gas has been, and how it takes a bite out of our budget. She has had an amazing turnaround and is surprising those who know her with how well she is doing currently! Let's help her keep up the good work!
Natural parents need help with the payment for a hair strand. This was court ordered on 8/23/22 and will help to prove that they have not consume any substance during the last months. As a result this will help with the reunification process. We really need help with this request because the results from this test can make a big difference on the child's life. The Hair Strand cost is $75 for each one. They need a total of $150 dollars, but any help will be appreciated it.
